Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Morning girls, well in a mess at new house as we need wardrobes and things but a little snowed in here. No internet so borrowed OH's mobile connection. So painfully slow. Noah is trying so hard to sit up he's using his arms to get momentum

It's freezing here and I cant get the buggy up and down the hill in snow :dohh:

Well unfortunately Asda didn't have any lactose free milk :( James had not too bad a night considering how upset he was before he went to sleep. He woke at about 4am for a feed, took 2oz for daddy then didn't want any more, went down into his cot wide awake and after about 10 minutes was yelling lol. I got up and managed to get him to take another 1oz and eventually managed to get him to go back to sleep at 5.15am. He has invented a highly amusing game (highly amusing for him that is!) that winding means no more milk. Whether he has had 1oz or 5oz, if I stop him to wind, thats it. Refuses to even consider taking any more milk! Try to let him take 5oz roughly before winding him but sometimes he gulps so much that he takes down lots of air and then I have to burp him early like this morning after 3oz. Naughty boy lol. OH and James are both asleep so I am sat having a cup of coffee in peace! Miracle hehe.

OH was ever so sweet last night. Because he couldn't get the milk and he knew I was upset he brought me home like 8 Kinder Beuno's and CSI the game for my Wii :)

Chaos - Wow go Autumn! Such a clever girl.

I really should try the whole meal planning thing. My sister does it and her shopping bills are so much cheaper than ours. Need to get a slow cooker so that I can just stick a casserole or stew or whatever on while James is napping.

Oooh quiet here today!
I'm pleased to say that Ethan has escaped any bad side effects from his 1st jabs. Best nights sleep so far last night..fed him at 7pm, went in his cot at 8pm still awake but took him till 8.30pm to settle himself to sleep..then went right through to 6am!!! And he wasn't even that starving then! Don't get me wrong,he was hungry and had a good feed but he wasn't crying badly for it,infact he was smilling when I lifted him from his cot! I've sometimes seen him hungrier with only 2.5hours between a feed lol. Anyway..he went straight back to sleep after being fed and didn't wake up till 9am! He's fast off upstairs in his cot now but he was fed abit earlier tonight at 6pm so I don't expect him to go through to 6am again. I'm in 2 minds as to wether to attempt to dream feed him when I go up at 10pm,but the last time I did that he obviously didn't want it as he threw it all back up on me straight away.

Helz - Ive given up trying to dream feed Aidyn, he only takes about 2 mouthful and then just uses me as a comfort suck.
Its great that they are sleeping thru but my the boobies are bursting by the morning!!!
We have 1st jabs coming up on Tuesday, Aidyn will be 12 weeks then, also have to take DS2 for his preschool jabs at same time, should be fun!!!!!!

Well James went down as usual at 8.30pm. But same as last night he needed swaddling before I could get him to settle. Don't know what is up with him :(

Morning all. Had a better night with James. He slept from about 9pm til 5.30am, fed and then slept again til 8.30am. Cheerful little chappy again this morning. I don't get it lol.

Has anyone else's AF gone AWOL? From my normal cycles I would have been due on Monday so I'm now 6 days late. Been having all the normal 'she's on her way imminently' symptoms for 9 days now! Doing my head in.

Morning all

Not much to report as yet! Enjoying a relaxing day with OH, may attempt to try and rescue the washing that is still being held hostage in the washing machine. Apart from that, nothing :D

Chloe is fast asleep on the couch bless her. I had a shock last night, was getting her ready for bed and pulled a few sleepsuits out of her wardrobe that were too small and never been worn. Found some that looked like they would fit and took them downstairs to pop them on her. Whilst doing that I noticed the label inside which read 6-9 months!!!

Same here Jlo..my boobs are confused when some nights he wants feeding a few times then others he sleeps through..ouch..so sore this morning!!!
Well, he didn't go right through last night, as expected as he was fed abit earlier than usual,6pm..he went till 3am though, fed and went back to sleep untill 9am :happydance:

Going out to Pizzahut now as a treat for my daughters 12th birthday on new years day but we didn't really do anything then as everyone was ill, have a great Sunday everyone :flower:

LK- no af for me yet,but as you know I'm breastfeeding so I didn't expect it to return just yet. I've had abit of period pain thou

mmmm, Pizza hut, drool, drool!!!!

Aidyn had a epic sleep last nite, slept from 9pm til 7am, fed then back to sleep til 9.45!!!!! It was lovely, DH got up with the other 2 at 7.30 so lovely lie in for me:happydance:

Little flakes of snow here atm, am so hoping the school opens tomorrow, cabin fever set in for all last week:dohh:

Have a good sunday all x

Afternoon all.

I hope we're all ok today.

Earl had a good night...his normal 7-4.30, then til 8. Can handle that, even if I do have to change his clothes at 5am due to leakage! lol :dohh: He's got teething pains again today, and is being his normal self although he's not friends with me after he got a little scare at his last nappy change when the dog got under my feet and I lost my footing  Wont look me in the eye for long lol....at least hubby is home otherwise it could have been an interesting day lol.

Have a good day ladies.

LK - could it be growing pains for James? Earl sometimes doesn't want to be swaddled, then randomly does and I think I've managed to see that it's normally when he's been moaning about growing pains. I think his arms and legs ache and he likes them to be supported? Just a thought.

Afternoon all, wow this moving lark gets harder when you get older and have acquired more and more junk to move. I'm slowly working my way through all the washing (now we've bought a new machine) as the damp at the other house made things smell.

So far this move the damp has ruined my wardrobes, we've had to buy a new washing machine, dryer and fridge. Talk about too many expenses straight after Christmas.

Noah is doing really well and has got the hang of sleeping at night. He has the odd bad night but usually he sleeps after 10pm until 12.30 (does this in his chair in the lounge as im up watching TV.) Then after a feed at 12.30 ish he sleeps through until 6 or 7  It was strange last night as he didnt wake for feed all evening then woke me at 2.30am for a big feed and then promptly back off to sleep till 8am.

I hope the snow clears a little soon so I can get out of the house, need to explore the new area and try to find something for my sore hands. They have all split with the cold weather.

LK - I suffered really badly with them when I was growing up so I can recognise them.....hubby didn't believe in them until I showed him lol.

Good afternoon ladies, Csn't stay on long today as Earl is having a very clingy very sleepy day and will NOT be put down and just wants to sleep! He had me up the normal amount in the night so nothing untoward, just a sleepy day. It's all the excuse I need not to do anything lol. Hubby will be home in about a hour :happydance: and I've already made tea so I'm going to chill out with a cuppa and a film!

Maffie - hope the move is ok. With any luck we'll be moving soon for hubby to go to uni so I have sympathy - I'm dreading packing up all our rubbish! i sense anothe car boot coming on! lol

Aimee, where you moving to?

The past few days have been HARD. I'm not well or happy, OH isn't well or happy, and Monty isn't well or happy. OH due to work 7 till 7 for the next two days, so that's two 13-hour days for me and Monty. I know lots of you frequently do this, but I am seldom on my own with baby for more than half a day, so I always feel a bit nervous when some long days are coming up. It doesn't help that we're all ill at the mo, and that we haven't left the village for almost three weeks because of the snow and icy roads. Plus the pram won't shift through the snow, so the only way down to the village is with Monty in the sling, and I just don't trust myself on the ice while carrying him, so the onus is totally on OH to do the walking with Monty. Which means not leaving the house for me and Monty for tomorrow or Wednesday. I really need to dig myself out of the wallowy hole that I'm in this week, it ain't good for any of us.

Colsy im trapped in the house as cant get the pram through the snow, this new house is up a hill, I should of thought about the weather when we moved here

I know the feeling about hills! We live halfway up a very steep one (so steep that most of our friends won't drive up it!) so whichever way we turn when we leave the house, we gotta go up and then down ... or down and then up.

You guys must have been really hammered with the snow lately- the snow in the UK has even made the nightly news here in Canada a couple times already this winter, lol! :hugs: to everyone who is stuck at home with baby- I'd be getting cabin fever too if I was stuck at home alone for any length of time. Not much going on here today- my BLW book finally arrived (it was backordered for a bit) and since I just finished the other book I was reading, it's perfect timing :) Last night Emma was a grumpy girl due to teething. I broke down and gave her childrens tylenol like the nurse suggested for when it gets bad- I hate medicating her but seeing her in pain is worse, so medicine won out. Made a huge difference- she was asleep within 20 minutes and was happy when she woke up for a pre-bedtime feed.

Kte- that's a cute pic of Chloe and her pea pod :) Our other name for Emma is giggly-goo since she is always saying "ah-goo" now. She chatters away but always seems to come back to saying "ah goo"- must mean something to her  Sounds like Chloe is growing quickly too :) We've had a few outfits that accidentally didn't get worn before Emma got too big for them also. I wish people had bought her larger sizes for gifts- we got mostly 3-6 month stuff and she's outgrown all of that stuff now.

Maffie- glad to hear the move went well- hope you are able to get out and explore soon :)

Aimee- enjoy your snuggle day with Earl :)

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Evening All....

It's been raining all day here... urgh...

CC slept through last night, so I hear you girls still bfing, solid and soggy... Ouch and yuck...At the same time... But what a nice sleep, 10.30 ish until 8am... I'd even had breakie and DS ready for school before she woke...

OH was told today he's not starting now until next Tuesday, they're gonna advance him the morgage money... Oh well... At least he's getting the odd jobs done... LMAO wish we had the money for my cooker, I'd have had my new kitchen...

We've jabs this week for CC after the cock up last time... Roll on Friday... We've packed up all the newborn and now have started on the 0-3 months stuff... My sister is gonna buy the next size of nappies for us.. Bless she's a good egg, even though we bicker like merry hell when together... She's a good Auntie...

(CC stands for Cheeky Charlie)

Colsy - We don't know where we're moving to. It depends on where huby gets in.

Earl has spent the grand total of 2 hours awake today and has gone to bed without a fuss too.....I think he's grown today and in that awake time he managed to hit the sky remote and his toys on his arch without a fuss! Me thinks it was a 'leaps and bounds' day!

Have a nice evening ladies

Oh and earl gets called 'Burly' and Earlington as well as Monster, Monster munch and all sorts!
