Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Just posted this https://www.babyandbump.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=60 Be interested to know what you use as seats for your LOs. We need something other than a Bumbo as Monty has rugby-player's thighs!

Hahah that made me "lol"

Ps: I think you need to redo that link as when I click it it's taking me to a window to start a new thread.

Afternoon Ladies...

I maybe a little aneamic (sp?) as I had a few weeks of bleeding on and off, and I guess the pig headed me didn't want to go onto iron tablets; would rather try to deal with it through my diet...

I don't think I'm depressed (at least I hope not, LOL) We've had an awful lot to deal with one way or another over the past year; things are picking up... I'm not really getting much sleep, what with CC sleeping pretty erratic on a night, OH getting up at stupid o'clock and then having to get up to get DS off to school...

Napping during the day is just out of the question as CC doesn't seem to sleep during the day, Might be lucky if she has an hour just about 1 ish... The rest of the time she seems to be sucking away at my boobs...

I feel that weaning is something you know in your gut when to start, each baby is different, and each of us cope with the demands very differently too... CC had stewed pear today she wolfed it down... Has just woken rather grumpy from 30 mins nap... Oh, well catch you later...

I'll think about going to GP honestly...

Good! Just explain everything to him/her and see what their opinion is. Hopefully it's something as simple as Anaemic! Start eating that spinach and big juicy steaks, girl!! :)

Thanks for the responses ladies - I just wanted to see if I was right to want to go it alone lol. We are going to wait til 17 weeks (3 weeks yesterday) and see where we are. It may be that we'll get to 24 weeks but if I'm honest I'm curious about what will happen lol. I've got all the gear for purees so whatever happens, we're good to go

Colsy - I'm looking at getting Earl eithe a jumperoo or a walker in the next couple of weeks....his thunder thighs are causing agro too lol. Also want to get a Summer 'Super seat' as I like to have 2 things at least for him to use. Also in the market for his highchair lol......so many things for such a small boy lol :dohh:

Earl just polished off 8oz with just a dribble left in the bottom :dohh: I know he'll do the same at bedtime too.....gannet!

Afternoon all, Colsy i've found the bumbo holes for the legs quite spacious, have you seen the bebe something seat? I know tx makk had them in reduced.

I have been thinking about the weaning process today. Im torn over what to do, Noah is feeding so much at the moment but I think its just a growth spurt. He's very interested in food and plates and cups and his little eyes seem to light up when he sees people eating. He's even got his little mouth chewing on nothing  He's 15 weeks on thursday so could start in a few weeks but I think i'd like him to stay on boobie milk as long as possible. Maybe just try baby rice first.

I am wondering whether to go see the doctors myself. Ive had a stupid amount of stress in my life over the last year and its put a massive strain on my relationship. I feel so down at the moment and I dont know whats causing it, but I think I felt like that before Noah came along. I'm sick of being a moaning minnie and OH is definately sick of it.

Hiya all, I'm not even gonna try catch up..far too much missed but I seem to be seeing weaning mentioned alot. I'm not weaning Ethan yet,I believe he's way too young and his tiny stomach too immature to cope with anything but milk yet (thats just my opinion,I'm not judging anyone) (he's 3 months tommorow) He's more than happy with boobie juice still, infact it couldn't be going better, he goes 3 sometimes 4 hours between feeds, and tends to get out what he needs in as little as 15 mins  and sleeps 10hours at night straight. He laughed for the first time yesterday, loves batting out at the toys on his toy arch, and has just about cut a tooth already! My baby is growing up soooo fast and I don't like it!!
The plan regarding weaning is to just carry on as we are for another 4 weeks then if things are still fine, just carry on. I'm not aiming for a particular time to start or anything, just going with the flow really.
Well, I'm so busy at the mo, decided I don't wanna go back to my job when my ML ends, it's time for a change, I wanna be my own boss so I'm looking into starting my own business, so I'm busy doing lots of research.
Hope everyones good xx

Morning All...

I've had a chat with OH about my mood, he agrees with you lot; I'll see about booking an appointment with GP later this week... He's kinda put my mood down to the stress of everything catching up with me, and the bleeding has just run me down, plus with CC only just starting to have longer sleep times the first part of the night... He told me he's shattered due to the sleep thing, but he grabs what he can at work during his breaks, so thinks he's actually getting more than I am...

At the moment CC's zzing away, DS is getting ready for school and I'm having my 1st coffee of the day... CC was awake at 2.30am and 6am; I got back into bed after 3am and gave OH a cuddle, then is alarm went off; He got up, I rolled over and then it felt like CC was awake again... Feel as though I've been up since 2.30 ish.... Yawn, I must have been a naughty girl... (or just very wicked..)

Sorting out CC's Christening... End of March...

 Hi all,

Well i've been a member of BnB for a few weeks now but only just found this part! :haha:

I'm Melissa (21) and I live with my partner Rob in Manchester with our 2 little ones, Grace (2 - 31/10/07) and Theo (3 months - 20/10/09).

Lifes pretty hectic, didn't realise how much hard work 2 kids would be, but things are finally starting to settle down and were in a kind of routine, hehe :) Theo's sleeping is just pants, so I constantly look like death :coffee: but other than that, he is a wonderful gorgeous little boy, full of smiles and giggles! :cloud9: .

Breastfed him for the first 12 weeks but now on formula full time, hes packing on the weight now and is generally a contented baby, we struggled abit with BF to be honest, but I know I gave him the best start in life

Anyway, looking forward to joining in with your little chats if you will have me? You seem like a lovely bunch of ladies :flower: Any questions for me, fire away! :winkwink:

Melissa

Morning girls!

We'll the snow's still bloody here!!! The news said that we're 17 degrees (f) than we should be this time of year. There's a reason I moved to the US!! Grr!

Autumn gave me a treat today. She woke up at 5.55am because the county school system decided to call to inform my 4 month old daughter that school was delayed till 10am!!! So I pulled her in to bed and she slept till 735am!! :)

We have a play-date at 10. She's starting to get interested in the other kids now.

Maffie ~ Hope you can get a app with the dr soon. :hugs:

Helz ~ wb! Thats great with Ethans sleeping :)

Eswift ~ Glad you got to speak with you hubby about your moods. Let us know what the dr says!

Mellie ~ Welcome to the group!!

Ok breakfast time!

Good afternoon everyone

Helz - Glad to see you're all doing so well

Mellie - Welcome :flower:

Chaos - Hope you enjoyed your lie in :flower: Earl has me up at 6-7 everyday. I'm sure it's so he can watch The Hoobs  I constantly have 'We're off to see the tiddly-peeps!' stuck in my head :dohh:. It's freezing here too.....can't seem to get the temperature right in the house. We don't have central heating so it's a case of fiddling with heaters and opening windows all the time :growlmad:

Well we've had a good day. Munchkin woke up at 5 then settled himself back down until 6.20 (just in time for the Hoobs! :dohh:). I didn't know he could do that :happydance: I could hear him cooing away but as he wasn;t crying I left him and he settled again. Even at 6.20 he was all smiles :happydance: So pleased with him.

Oh and Chaos - You're right, that noise is 'fun' lol. Earl was on the sofa with Daddy this morning. I went upstairs and I heard a shriek. It sounded like he was in the room with me it was that loud. I came back down and hubby was in hysterics as Earl was literally screaming and shouting at the ceiling lights :haha:

Anyhoo, my sewing patterns have arrived today so I'm off to trace the 9months size dungarees pattern and pin them. Going to go slow as I'm really not confident lol, but I'm dead excited. Got the most adorable giraffe print to make them out of too :flower:

Have a nice afternoon ladies :hugs:

We get BBC America here and one of the programs we get is Rosie and Jim. That bloody stupid song has been in my head for DAYS. But the kids loves it, so what can I do? lol

Looking forward to seeing your creation! I need to finish stitching bunnys nose and eyes tonight and then start on the car tidy.

Afternoon ladies. James also does the shouting at things! He was yelling at the sofa the other day. Not sure what it had done lol but it was getting a right telling off. He is in the middle of his afternoon nap right now. Has a stinking cold bless him but still eating well so thats good.

Mellie - welcome!

Afternoon ladies!

Wow aren't you good with you sewing! I need a hobby to keep me busy!

Had a pretty good day here, just got back from a walk out to the shop and put my little girls name down for nursery, she will start in Jan 2011, sounds like ages away but i'm sure it will be here before we know it  my little girl is growing up too fast!!

While we was out its started snowing...again!! I hate the snow, thought we had all the snow possible in December & January! :nope: hope it stops soon, its just started to stick though :growlmad:

Theo is still asleep since our walk, should wake him for his feed soon but DD is watching tellie on the couch and its all very quiet!! I have chores to be getting on with but my magazine and a hot chocolate is calling me from the couch :haha: .

x

Oh & I know what you mean with the noises, Theo is very noisy, my mum bought him a top that says "little man, big noise" couldn't be more true! Lol, I was saying to my partner that I think hes going to be a very noisy toddler, i'm sure DD wasn't as vocal as Theo is...and shes still quiet now tbh!

x

Afternoon all, trying to type one handed as Noah has basically been on the boob all day. He's just spent a solid 50 minutes sucking the life out of them.

Welcome mellie :hi:

I managed to tear one of my fave quilt covers yesterday so going to wash it and put it away for use as material.

Evenin' all

Chaos~ that automated school calling system seems a good idea but calling Autumn already, that would drive me mad!!

Mellie ~ 2 October birthdays for you! My LO shares the same birthday date as your eldest, have you ever found it a problem being on Halloween?

Aimee~ hope the sewing is going well. I'm quite jealous of you & Chaos but I am more of a drawer than a sewer. I tried it a few times but when my sewing machine got stuck in reverse I gave it up as a bad job! I was sick of faffing about with the spool all the time too.

Eswift~ Hope all goes well when you go to the doc's and that the Christening plans go well.

I was trying to make space in Chloe's room, takes me 30 mins here and there, as it is so full of things already! I just dunno what to do with things, we have things for when she is older, things that she has outgrown, bulky things that she uses now but there is just no storage space for, things that we can pass onto other pregnant people but we just haven't passed them on yet. It's so hard! Anyway, I popped Chloe in her cot and she was staring at her mobile, she loved it, it was really cute to see as she doesn't really have time for the play mat dangily bugs, she gets mad at them! She was lying there kicking her legs and making cute happy noises at them, she lasted quite a while too.

Re: Shouting ~ Chloe doesn't do this at the mo, she can be a loud madam tho, whenever she cries we get comments about how she has healthy lungs! She doesn't cry often but when she does she is loud!

Awww Kte! Yay another Halloween baby, I love it! For her 1st birthday we did her a fancy dress and all her little friends came dressed up, it was sooo cute! Grace was a little fairy princess of course! Last year Theo was only 10days old so I didn't feel upto much, so we just had a little tea party...I think in the future though for a good few years we will get away with joint birthday parties and lots of fancy dress themes...fun fun fun! hehe

Kte and Mellie - I'm actually a little bit jealous that you have a halloween baby. When we found out that I was due in October I was so excited as I could always see myself as the 'Mummy that does Halloween best' lol.....and October babe means that I get the perfect excuse. Earl is the 26th....close enough for me lol

Time for a bit of a boast before I tackle the washing up and tea (tortellini tonight! :cloud9:)

I've officially finished my first ever sewing project. I promised myself that I could have whatever time was left between Earl going to sleep and 8pm. Well the little darling was asleep by 7.05 and I've been playing since then lol. Just had time to upload these piccies.

First one is my machine :cloud9:
Second is of the bag I've made
Third is the room and the perils of a house with too many hobbies! :dohh:

I'm so chuffed....i've never really completed anything on a sewing machine. I used one once at school but wasn't very good and always wanted one but I was a bit nervous that I would be no good! I'm so pleased!! :happydance:

Sorry girls...just had to boast. Started my journal especially to write about my sewing and Earl's escapades. I've put an especially funny pic up on there but I have a feeling I may get accused of child cruelty...I assure you he was giggling the whole time! Link is in my siggy.

Evening all :hugs:
