I've just had a nap and feel worse for it :dohh:

Colsy sometimes Noah screams when tired when he does we either:dohh: pop him in the swing and it sends him to sleep 10 minutes max or cuddle him on shoulder can take half hour, but put Duffy on and he chills out straight away.
At night he just seems to know sleep time now ans settles, hope this continues. *touch wood*

Kte my first smear hurt and it put me off for years, this time it was over before @I could blink, was well impressed.

Well I need to go to work for a day in a couple of weeks I could  im being moved offices, to a place ive never worked with people I dont know another girl I know is moving too. So when I go back to work i'll know no one.

Colsy - Earl's jabs are on wednesday afternoon.

Kte - I've had about 10 smears in my life so far (gotta love an over-zealous NHS! lol) and a colposcopy. All came to nothing though. I think that since they changed the brush from a scraper to a 'mascara' brush, it hurts more. It's really nothing to get stressed about. I got to a point where I would just walk in and lay down before the nurse was even ready....I was quite the regular! :dohh:

Afternoon girls,

Just a quickie from me (well I say that now lol) as monster chops is going to need a bath soon lol.

We had a fab day at the Sea Life centre. Will post some piccies when I've finished. We spent over an hour and a half wandering and took a million pictures as Earl was fascinated. The Seals and the Sharks in particular took his fancy lol. We then went to Bridlington (not a fan of Scarborough, and it's on our way home) for a fish and chip lunch and a wander around the town and seafront.....brrrrr bracing!

We got home at about 4, Earl had some food then had his tea. He's had a bit of a big day so is a bit over-wrought so I think he'll be glad to get to bed lol. Digest all that information. Also, the solids are agreeing with him, apart from the trumps! Pee-ewww!

Piccies below

Chilled out day tomorrow before a marathon day at the Dr's on Wednesday.

Just wondering aloud here ... Monty finally had an afternoon nap at 4.30pm. Sometimes his afternoon sleeps last two hours or more, which will take us to 6.30pm or later potentially. But that's usually when we start getting him ready for bed LOL. Guess his sleep tonight is going to be cock-eyed. Any of you had experience of afternoon naps going on too late? I don't want to wake him up cos that will make him super grumpy and also he's really knackered today after such an early start that I think he needs the extra shut-eye.

Noah tends to nap in the morning from 6-8am then he might have a short nap at 1pm for 30 minutes, another nap around 4-5 for an hour then he naps sometimes at 7-9 then last feed at 10pm and into cot until the morning. Ive tried getting him into cot after his 7pm feed but he wont have it he is usually up and awake at he point I think its the novelty of daddy being at home.

It just took us (taking it in turns!) two and a half hours to get Monty to stop fighting it and take a nap. Wonder why this happens sometimes? He was sooooooooooooo knackered but he just wouldn't sleep. He screamed for almost the entire two and a half hours, and when he wasn't screaming he was crying or sniffing. Feel quite relieved he is asleep now as my ears were starting to vibrate LOL. Presume other people also take this long to get their babies to sleep sometimes?

Chloe is screaming this very minute, she just won't go to sleep. She is fed, winded, cuddles, very very tired and hence screaming the house down. I am knackered and we have an early start tomorrow as she has baby clinic at 9.30 and jabs at 9.40. Oh the joy. Bit lost as to what to do now, hope a cuddle in a mo will help.

Oh god she is getting louder, that madam knows how to tantrum already!

Good evening ladies!

Hope everyone had a good day- sounds like a lot of us had grumpy babes today! Mine is currently snuggled up to me since DH thought her screaming with daddy was "on the verge of going into shock"- personally, I think he was just tired of not being able to hear the commentary on the olympics  I think she's over tired from swimming. Swimming was sort of okay- she didn't like the water temperature in the first pool (we did stuff in 3 different pools, ending in the hot tub) as it was too cold and then when I was getting her dressed at the end, she screamed down the house. My mother showed up at the pool with a camera- I'm just hoping she doesn't post the pics on facebook later :dohh: There were only 3 other mums and babies so it was a nice ratio. I just wish the class was a little earlier in the day (it's at 4:30pm).

Kte- cute pic of Chloe in her highchair- she looks so grown up! That's interesting about Chloe being right handed already- I'm going to have to watch Emma playing tomorrow.

Flora- hope the swaddle-free night went well :)

Maffie- ouch that's a high bill! I noticed your ticker says 4 months- happy 4mths to you and Noah :) :hugs: for the work situation. My office has changed around too and I'm not looking forward to returning either- wish I could be a sahm!

Aimee- awesome pics of your trip to the aquarium- I love the one of Earl looking at the seal :) Interesting about the hypothyroidism- my doc tested me but didn't say why. I just assumed it was 'cause I'm over 30 now and I never go to the doctors so she was making up for everything I've missed over the years, lol. Hope your testing goes well.

LK- glad to hear you got some quality time with James today.

Colsy- glad to hear the weekend away went so well- gives me hope for our weekend away too, lol :) Our doc alway takes Emma's temperature first and delayed her first jabs because we thought she was getting a cold. I hope Monty is feeling better!

Mellie- no advice here- hope Theo lets you get a bit more sleep tho :hugs: Cute pic of your daughter in your signature :)

h702 :hi:

Well, time to get off the computer and try to get my grumpy girl settled in bed. Nighty night! :)

Well, after the screaming sesh, he slept for two hours, until 6.30pm - not an ideal time for a nap obviously! So then we had a play downstairs, a very small feed, and then by 7.30pm he seemed tired again. So upstairs, all snuggly in his sleeping bag, ready for his usual pre-bed feed, which is ALWAYS BF both sides. Bearing in mind this boy is always hungry and the fact that he'd barely eaten all day, I was shocked to say the least that he refused both breasts and then fell straight asleep in his hammock. I was expecting a dreadful night, but he woke for a feed at 1am and then slept until 6.30am. He's now in bed again, after a very small breakfast feed. His fontanelle feels fine, so I am guessing/hoping dehydration isn't an issue. He most definitely has my cold now - his nose is really running poor thing - and he is so chesty coughy. Now his daddy also has it. I'm glad I'm now feeling better, otherwise we would be settling in for a very hard day!

I do panic a bit when Monty doesn't eat much, as usually he has such a voracious appetite. It's not calories but fluid intake that concerns me. Some people swear by offering some water, but TBH there's little point because Monty will not put teat or breast in his mouth right now unless he absolutely wants it there.

BTW, does anybody have any tips for taking baby temperature? We have an underarm thermom, but it takes ages to get a reading and it doesn't seem very accurate. I know we have to add 0.5 degrees to get the correct reading, but it still seems to be reading far too low, and I know he's warmer than usual so it can't be correct. Wonder whether we're not inserting the thermom far enough into the armpit?

Morning ladies,

Well I made the mistake of getting onvolved in a debate on here last night and it would appear that I've come off worse, which has really peed me off. I should know better really as typing responses, unless you've got time to do a point by point argument, really isn't efficient or effective in getting a point accross. Also get realy annoyed when one insignificant comment gets used against you when the rest of your argument is solid as rock.....grrrrr hate it hate it! Shan't be doing that again.

Had a good night. Earl is getting used to sleeping to a normal hour again, with a feed at about 5am, he has started to go back to sleep straight away which is fabby....I get to see a 7 on the clock in a morning now, and he's eating again

Colsy, Earl had an off day on his food yesterday. If he's feeling off, I just feed when and what he wants for 24 hours. If the next day he's still having trouble, then I start to worry. I swear a night will reset most problems. I hope that you all feel better soon :hugs: Oh and I don't have a thermometer. I just go by my hand (although with my possible health problems I've been getting hubby to check all my decisions regarding heat and cold. Reminds me....must ring dr's. COuldn't get through yesterday :dohh:).

Nice chilled out day planned. Got to plan what to do on our next day out. We're hoping to make it a regular thing. We have passes to the Sea Life Centre (bought them on holiday last year) so we may well just go back again lol. Other options are the NRM or the North York Moors Steam Railway (obviously a train theme there lol).

Have a nice day ladies, I hope were all ok

Morning All...

Been and paid for CC's swimming lessons, we start in 3 weeks (she'll have had her last lot of jabs by then...

She's put on another lb and grown another cm... All in 2 weeks...

Hope you're all well, have tried to reply to some post's but it wouldn't let me?

Afternoon all,

Well thats her 3rd lot of jabs out the way :happydance:

Kaites ~ I think I was just looking out a bit more since I am a righty and OH is a lefty, I was curious to see who she would take after! Hope Emma settled in the end. Sounds a nice small swim group :) Hope Emma settles into in once she gets used to it all :flower:

Aimee ~ I agree with your point 100% or was it Drews? I just don't think they got it (your point) I don't get why everyone took their bat and ball home :hugs:
I like the Earl / Seal picture too  We plan on lots of trips out too, used to love doing things like that as a kid and getting all giddy about taking Chloe places. Ooo I love to NRM but i am a bit of a train geek, steam engines more mind you. I got to have a meal in the main hall once with work, we held a big european conference, bonus of working in the Transport department

Colsy ~ Hope Monty is feeling better today and is eating better :hugs:

Haha I just read that thread. Drew made me laugh.
eh, don't worry about it, I have got involved in many a debate on here. Drives me nuts because some people take The Sun as Gospel and just like to regurgitate what they have read for truth, rather than doing their own research and digging a bit further. I'm like you, I like to research and get all angles and make my own opinion on the matter. Obviously just bottle feeding COULD be a factor, but so could those nuggets, chips and ice cream fed from age 1. Annnnnyways haha

ps: Just be careful with letting Drew use your account like that, more so if you have access to the GS .. I've seen some people get pissy over hubbys posting under thier Mrs' screen name. :hugs:

Mornin' Luvs,

Well after weekend of sucking snot out my daughters nose, I think she's over the worse of it. She's still a bit snuffly and has a bit of a cough, but shes no longer a screaming banshee child haha. She has become UBER clinging since she's been sick, I mean, so bad that if I lay her on the bed and walk 5 steps to the shower to turn it on (all the time in her eyesight) she SCREAMS the house down!!

Soilds is going well. Had to start giving her lunch too, cause she was wanting 8oz bottles every 3 hours!! She now has oats for breakfast, rice or fruit for lunch and then veggie for dinner!

Aimee ~ Fab pics! The seal one is cute!!

Kte ~ Hope Chloe settled last night! Autumn had a 30 minute meltdown last night too cause she was over tired and couldn't breath whilst sucking her dummy.

Colsy ~ I got a forehead thermometer .. you just place the tip of it on the forehead and hold it for about 10 secs until it beeps and it reads the temp.

ok brekkie time!

Hope Monty is feeling better today and is eating better :hugs:

Nope and nope :nope:. But thank you for the hugs. I shall pass some of them on to my boy, in the hope that they make him better.

Ah, that's what our Monty was like all the time, until very recently. It's defo hard work - but on the other hand, at least you know she loves you loads :-) Pleased to hear she's getting better - poor little thing, it's hard isn't it when their little noses are snuffling away

Hi all, sorry not been on for a few days, George has a cold, poorly at the minute, his nose is blocked and then runny, his eyes are full of cold too, poor thing, feel helpless, i have not been out for a few days now too, thats getting me down alittle ..... hope everyone is well and babys too xxxxxxxxxxx

Chloe is currently zonked but I am expecting her to wake up at some point as she has missed her 3pm feed, think her body is fighting her imms, she usually sleeps loads once she has had her jabs. She is stirring . . . bottle on standby!

Chaos ~ Glad Autumn is coming through the other side of her cold :flower: Glad the solids are going well :) Chloe settled eventually but it was past 10.30 when I crawled into bed after managing to get her down for the night. I'm a lightweight when it comes to bed time, especially now I know no matter what time I go to bed the latest I get to lie in is until 7.30, at least my wake up call is wide eyes and smiles!

Sam~ Hope George gets better too and hope you get out soon to ease the cabin fever :flower:

Colsy ~ Sorry to hear Monty is still poorly, more big hugs for you and him :hugs:

Ha, I just read this and I was thinking you meant politically. And then I thought how on earth can you work out a child's political views at this age!!!! :dohh: Realised a bit too late in the day that you were referring to handedness
