LK - as I have found on here, your not alone, ok so peoples presence might nit be felt but people on here are very caring and nice. shame you live so far away, id send Kte down to look after you lol

If I were you, I'd be worried that she is in fact giving her something when you're not there, which is shit, because that means if she has had a taste, she is gonna want it now.

Sorry I have not been on recantly.

If she did feed Chloe something, there would be trouble. My violence days are well over, but after seeing how Kte was the other night I was close to going round there and hitting the fat cow (and I dont hit women - but pushing Kte pushed me).
If she did feed Chloe, her CM business would soon dissapear I would make damn sure of that and I would make damn sure that she NEVER looked after children (including her own) again!

My Auntie is a registered child minder, was for 25 years. She stopped a couple of years ago because her MIL had to move in because she was sick. Well she died not so long ago and my Auntie decided to go back to child minding, the hoops she had to jump thru are C.R.A.Z.Y. Despite having so much experience. She had to take all exams again, go thru SS checks, re baby proof all the house, the garden and so on and so forth.

Any way, as a registered child minder, by law, you have to record everything that happens with the child with in the day. When they eat, what they eat, when they pee/poo when they sleep, for how long, if you need to give them any medications etc. They are not allowed to give your child food/certain kinds of food unless you specify, because of allergies. This is why with small babies, so many childminders request you send a days meals with them, so they don't have a bad reaction to something.
So if she does indeed give Chloe something, it would be a serious breech and she'd more than likely get investigated by SS as they are the people who hand licences out.

Plus, you'd be able to tell by her poop, cause lawsy mercy, Autumn has proper "people poo" now she's been on solids and it is n.a.s.t.y and VERY hard to clean. Bring back baby poo days haha

If you were looking at changing childminders (I dunno how you found yours) the local council website should have a list of registered ones in your area. Shame you don't live in Kent, my Auntie is waiting for some new kids to come in!

LK ~ Look after your self today! As long as little man is taking some kind of fluid, I'm sure he'll be ok, even if it's water.

Aimee ~ All my friends keep asking me when John and I last went on a date. I was like .. um .. September haha. They keep offering to look after Autumn for a few hours, but I just aint ready. It's not that I don't trust them .. it's that I'd not enjoy it as I'd be calling every 0.35 seconds to see if she's ok!!

Cheers Chaos, we found her through the local nursery, she is OFSTEAD outstanding......so there mush be some apaling CM's out there.

Thanks guys. Got to take him to the out of hours gp at 3pm cos he is now refusing to drink and I've had to resort to syringe feeding him. They want to check him over cos he isn't peeing much and his fontanelle is slightly sunken. Hoping they won't want to admit him cos that means going into Bristol Children's Hospital which is in the centre of town!

Awww LK, hope little James is better soon *big hugs* good luck at the out of hours DR

xxx

lk, huge :hugs: to u n james... love the avatar pic of him; wot a cutie he is!

Nij; go you... wish more men were as into their kids. (luckily my OH is, but my sister's ex couldnt give 2 hoots about kids, the git)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! It's gorgeous out so I think we are heading to the park again later :) Other than the lovely weather, it's been a sh*t couple of days around here- DH's employer has "restructured" so he's out of work :( We are looking at it as an opportunity for something better though- lots of retraining programs available atm so hopefully DH can go back to school for something new and better. I overheard him talking to my dad about being a part-time sahd, lol. I was hoping to drop to part time when I return to work but looks like that won't be happening, oh well! Anyway, employment insurance is decent (it's like the two of us are on mat leave) so that'll help until DH either gets a new job or goes back to school. Anyway, hope everyone else is having a better weekend than us :haha:

I love all the new avatar pics- looks like lots of us changed them recently :) Ahh, the bumpkins are a gorgeous lot- not that I'm biased ;)

LK- hope you and James are feeling better! :hugs:

Back now. He is a little dry but not needing hospital yet thankfully. Just got to carry on with the fluids and see how he goes. He took 5oz when we got home. Puked up bout 1oz so not too bad. Trying to get him to take a nap now cos he is hanging.

lol cheers Flora.

TBH before Chloe I wouldn't have said i was a very understanding, but now I definately am.

I don't understand it at all how anyone could not give a monkeys, especially at this age. I know a few people in the past who didn't care till the child was toddling and chatting, then they thought it was cool - in my mind, you didn't care when he/she was born and in the first year, so you have no right to the child except to pay for what you made!

Sorry if it sounds harsh, i'm just speaking my mind.

LK, hope James perks up soon. At-least he has had some fluids

LK ~ Glad James has taken some more fluids, lets hope he is on the mend now :hugs: Big :hugs: for you too, its not easy when they are ill, so worrying, especially when your feeling under the weather too :flower:

Nij ~ Chloe has defo brought out your softer, caring, side :haha: :cloud9:

Kaites ~ Sorry to hear about your OH's job, at least you are looking on the positive side, hope it all works out :flower: p.s, I agree with you about the attractive Bumpkins!

Chloe isn;t too well tonight :nope: not sure what is up. At first I thought it could be teething but not sure if it could be her tummy, she is a bit windy bottom wise. She hasn't had a poo for a while but she hasn't been eating properly either, 30ml here and there, taken ages but her last feed she guzzled it all minus 10ml. I have given her some calpol and she is trying to snooze.

My Mum and Dad came this aft. My Mum had brought lots of cute clothes for Chloe so can't wait to get her in them.

drat i need the loo, operation 'put chloe in her moses basket without waking her' commences!

Lol don't know what your talkng about 'softer side'. Don't you dare make noise and wake me up lol

Lol don't know what your talkng about 'softer side'. Don't you dare make noise and wake me up lol

You need to go to sleep first for me to try that! :haha:

Wow what a difference! Took him up for his bath and he was kicking around squealing like a loon. Stripped him off and put him in and he was splashing and flinging himself about having a great time. And he has just taken another 4.5oz after 2 and a half hours. With just a little spit up. I'm so much happier :)

Better than Eastenders this!:flower: lol. Hope you get off to sleep soon Nij.

Earl's in bed and we have pizza for tea. Hubby is taxi for a couple of his workmates tonight so I'm sat here twiddling the thumbs lol.

Kaites - sorry to hear about your OH's job. Good o you for seeing the positive....definitely a time to make the most of the opportunities. And that's another +1 on the attractive bumpkins.

LK- Sorry to hear that James is still poorly. I hope he is better after a good night's sleep. And that you're gfeeling better too. :hugs:

Kte - Aww I hope Chloe is ok too.

I've come to the conclusion that I cannot fill Earl up. Today he has had (quick tot up in the head) 35oz of milk and 4 cubes worth of sweet potato and apple puree, and he's still got his dream feed to go :dohh: I swear he's got hollow legs that child!

Anyone got any nice plans for Mother's Day yet? We're going to the NRM on friday by the looks. Hubby has his pool session for his diving on Friday night so he's going to have a busy day lol. He thought I was coming with him until I pointed out about Earl and he said 'Well he'll be in bed.' lol :dohh: Never mind eh? Got MIL and SIL coming on Saturday (which means lots of cleaning the next few days lol) and then that's it. looks like we're off out for a nice long walk on the Sunday.

Flora - had to laugh at the venom in your last post. People really should use the word 'git' more often.

Have a nice evening ladies xx

*tumbleweed rolls across screen* ............ :haha:

Morning all,

It sure is quiet in here, hope everyone is okay and just being busy bees :flower:

Not sure 100% for Mothers day; we are going to go to a local Church service that we were invited to at Chloe's Christening. Then we are supposted to be going for a meal with the MIL.

Oh stupid thing. I posted in here this morning but evidently it didnt save properly. James is a fair bit happier this morning. Has had 13oz of milk so far today yay. He is having a nap now. And I'm on antibiotics for a chest infection so that was a good start to the week lol.

Good morning ladies :)

It is quiet in here today! Maybe it's a sign of spring and people are outside  It's another sunny day here so I'll be going for a walk soon- seems to be the best way to guarantee Emma having a nap, lol. I dug out some of her sun hats yesterday since the sun is feeling stronger now and hubby spent most of yesterday's walk trying to shade her with his hands while she was in the baby carrier. Anyway, today's mission is to try to get Emma to nap as much as possble before swim class. It's at 4:30 and by 4:45, she looks like she's going to fall asleep in the pool. I'm realizing the lessons are a bit of a waste- we should have just gone for a swim once a week as a family.

Mother's day around here is in May so I've got a while longer before I get pampered, lol :)

LK- glad to hear James is happier. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Aimee & Kte- thanks :) DH is out right now looking into the training programs- I'd really like to see him get out of the landscape irrigation industry so this might be just the perfect opportunity. With so many people getting laid off, the gov has all kinds of programs where they will pay tuition and other school costs, keep paying employment insurance benefits for the duration of the program and in some cases also pay for "dependent care". I have my doubts that they would pay for Emma's daycare since I'll be working, but if they extended his EI and paid tuition, we could afford it. I did the math and realized that my salary actually is enough to live off of, so worst case scenario of DH being a sahd is not actually as bad as I initially thought either. Can't say I'm entirely surprised this has happened- seems like the owner of the company had been making some pretty bad business decisions over the past few years... Kte, hope Chloe is feeling better today :hugs: Aimee, sounds like Earl has quite the appetite- just wait 'til he hits the teenage years :haha:

I had to attach a pic I nicked off my mum's FB of Emma in her spring coat- she looks all grown up with jeans and a coat :)

Hope everyone is having a good day!
