Maffie & Aimee-Lou ~ All babe have to go through the attachment and de-ttachment stage; it's all part of growing up... Just keep at it; aventually they learn you're not leaving for good...

Kte ~ Sunday was bedlum, hoping toget myself better sorted next week; DS has chosen to be confirmed, now going to church is gonna have to be a regular trip... CC cried all the way through the service (LOL I appologised afterwards and was rather embarrassed when told CC's needs were greater and not to be scared of dealing with CC and ignoring the up's and down of singing etc... Vicar said it all rather loudly..) CC wanted her solids LOL

Is anyone else finding the days are so so long??? Yet I manage to acheive absolutely nothing LOL

Just got back from a walk with Emma- we stopped at a park with baby swings :) I've been a little hesitant to try her in one because of the metal chains, cold weather and her love of chewing on stuff (I had visions of her sticking her tongue to the cold chain and me having to find a way to get her unglued...). Anyway, no tongues got stuck and she loved it- huge smiles and she seemed to like watching the clouds. She slept the whole way home too which was a bonus :) I can't wait 'til the summer- playing at the park and picnics  ...without winter clothing :haha:

Colsy- we have mega sleep regression here too. There's a thread in the Bfing forum about all of us who's babies are at that 4mth mark & everyone is saying their sleep is awfully disturbed atm, with lots of waking, freaquent feeds, constant on the boob, off the boob stuff, easily distracted, crying when mummy leaves the room etc... I think it must be linked to growth spurts & developmental phases, as they're learning so much atm, that they must be burning crazy amounts of calories, combined with growing super fast, and the light/dark timings changing etc... I hope it passes for all of us soon!!!!!! :dohh:

I am seriously angry with my Dr surgery. It took over an hour to even get through to them thismjorning & by the time I did, there were NO appointments left for today & they said I couldnt book one for tomorrow & would have to call at 8am tomorrow to book one instead... I said i didnt want to wait as he's only a baby & it's not fair on him, so they said to bring him to the duty drop in clinic between 3 & 5pm. I got there at 2:55, went in & they said they would 'try to fit him in.' An hr later we were still there (luckily Harry slept through the wait) so I asked them how much longer it would be.... Only to have them make an announcement that due to how busy they were, they probably wont be able to fit everyone in today & could be another 2hr wait!!!! I couldnt wait that long, having skipped lunch & had no food or drink on me & Harry would be waking up soon etc etc... I was soooo angry, so I demnaded an appointment so they've goven us one for 9:20am tomorrow or told me to take him to A&E if I was that worried! Stupid bitch. Urgh!!!!!!! So, that was a waste of £3.95 bus fair today. Harry's ear is no better either. Tnankyou for your well wishes though. Will let you know what they say tomorrow.

Evening all,

Well I survived day one! I found my chair too, my boss had given it to someone else, great huh! I got it back and they took a part time members chair instead! Sound petty but its to do with DSE regulation, health and safety and all that jazz!

I got a huge grin and excited Chloe when I came home. She is currently sleeping on me :cloud9:

Kaites ~ Glad you had a nice time and Emma enjoyed herself.

Eswift ~ Its good when they don't mind, it is worrying when your LO fusses. At Chloe's Christening they made an announcement about it being okay for all the LOs to make noise, you could see the relief on everyones faces! Yep my days did seem to go on forever yet I got nothing done, not sure how things will pan out now.

That is so out of order of them Flora! :hugs:

Evening ladies. Well James has amazed me today. Not only is he grabbing at his feet, but he rolled from his back to his tummy! Finally! After about 2 weeks of trying hard and not quite managing. And of course it was while I was in the kitchen. But he decided now he has done it he doesn't want to stop and has spent the last 2 hours rolling front to back to front to back lol. Is now on my mums lap playing with his feet. Oh and he is telling the laptop off big time.

Flora - thats just plain awful! He should have been made a priority being so young!

Flora - god I'd have flipped after the phone calls to be honest. You did well to maintain your patience. I hope Harry is ok until the morning when he gets seen.

Kte - Glad you survived your day. :hugs: Sounds like Chloe is making the most of Mummy!

LK - I love it when Earl has a day like that. All of a sudden then have a new skill and all they want to do is use it lol. Earl plays with his feet a little bit....he pulls at his grow to try to get to them lol. Hoping he will roll soon but with you saying 2 weeks, he's only been trying to for a couple of days so could be a while yet lol.

Tonight's tea was a complete success. I got hubby to give him his tea yesterday and I think it's made Earl a little bit 'enthusuastic' as hubby was literally shovelling the food into him lol. Tonight I picked up the spoon and Earl was there waiting with his mouth open, then started grabbing at the spoon to get it in quicker. He ate a massive portion of sweet potato, and then actually successfully drank from a sippy cup (I had to hold it for him but he didn't choke ) so 2 major new things today :happydance:

I spent this afternoon making baby food. Sweet potato, apple and cauliflower are all in ice cube trays as we speak. Cauliflower cheese for us for tea tonight. I think we'll have it with toast lol, although, jackets may be nice. What do we think ladies?

Right, best be off....hubby will be home soon and I've done literally nothing! lol

Morning all,

B&B is back up :happydance: lol

Was going to rant but am not in mood now lol, more worried about my Sis. She has had a few spots of blood which I know can be normal but at the same time she is having period pains. Not strong ones but they are there all the same. She is on bed rest and has a scan at 7.30 tomorrow morning. Hope everything is okay.

Hope we are all okay :hugs:

Keeping everything crossed for your sis Kte, how many weeks is she? I had cramps and spotting at 6 weeks and they said implantation (turned out my hormones made a huge cyst grow in my womb (canrt remember the name of it) but it all dissolved by 12 weeks.

:flower: Hope your sister and LO are ok Kte

Morning all....forgot to say,

Kaites - Did Emma enjoy the swings then? I don't think Earl is far off being able to go on them I think...and we have a park literally behind my house ... maybe when the weather is better like you say.

Earl's having a strange day. He was really clingy with hubby this morning and wouldn't be put down at all. Now hubby has gone to work and he wont entertain me at all lol. I've had to put him on the sofa to just watch the world go by....normally he would be attached to my hip. Something must have happened overnight lol. He slept in til 8am this morning (with a 5am feed). He's also very vocal....his tongue is moving with the noises he's making and I swear he said Dada this morning too! (probably just a coincidence lol)

Anyhoo's best be off. Got loads to do today as I was a lazy oik yesterday and did virtually nothing lol. Jeremy Kyle was just too entertaining lol :dohh:

Thanks Maffie & Aimee

She is 9+4 at the moment.

I told her to keep positive as possible

well, it's defo an ear infection & he's got drops for it. Dr said if it hasn't cleared in 5 days, bring him back n they';; give him antibiotics as well as the drops. He said my lil man wasw brave coz although he cried when he looked in his ear, he was all smiles again afterwards n reached out to touch his face as if to say, 'that hurt me, but you're alright, i like you mr doctor man!'
made a complaint about the lack of service and inability to get appointments too
Harry seems ok in himself; smiley, but very clingy with lots of on-off feeding, but no crying or anything... only seems to bother him if anyone touches his ear or if he lays right on it... so he's happily playing with his feet & flirting with the fish in the aquarium at the moment, so i cant complain. cant go swimming this week or next week, but oh well.

Kte- hope your sis is ok :hugs:

Kte - hope your sister and LO are ok. A little bleeding is ok during pregnancy. Will keep everything crossed for her.

Flora - glad you got him seen in the end.

Well we have had a lovely morning. Went to the park and had a little picnic with my sis and her LO's. Unfortunately the kids play area was closed for refurbishment but we had a walk along the river and then had a sandwich watching the diggers lol.

Thanks for the wishes for my Sis everyone :flower: I have heard it can happen so that's why I am telling her to be positive, she is feeling a bit better as its been a good few hours and no bleeding since so the crossed fingers are working, lets keep it up! :hugs:

Argh, my body is confusing me too. I am on the pill and am supposed to be having my AF now but nothing . . . I kind of bled half way through this pack i was taking but only a tiny bit and the doctor said its usual to bleed as my body is still healing. Has everyone else gone back to some kind of normal pattern?

Mail shot fun at the mo . . . 10 mins and a quick dash home to collect Chloe :happydance: Hope she had a good day. The Childminder was trying to convinve me she is ready for weaning but I am having none of it! Sick of these mini battles!

Best finish off and get ready to dash . . speak to you all later :flower:

Kte - My body is still playing silly beggars....I came on 10 days ago before my 7 day break in my pill began. I'm due back on a new pack on Thursday so we'll see. I've had to cancel 2 smears too :growlmad:

And stick it to that childminder....if she's not ready then don't be pressured into it!

Can't decide what to give Earl for his tea...... got a choice of Apple, Cauliflower or Sweet Potato for a second night running. Decisions, Decisions lol

Evening all,

Aimee ~ I cancelled one Smear but the mini bleed ended before my second so I still went for it, just hope it didn't affect the results! Typically I have started my AF this evening after that little worry so relieved now!

Re: Childminder, argh! I told her no but I will have to type a bit more for you to see what happened!

Flora ~ Glad Harry has been seen, hope the drops work quickly for him so you guys can get back in that pool!

LK ~ Sounds like a really nice day out! Diggers remind me of digger world, not been yet, we always say when my nephews are down we will go and then plain forget! Hmmm having them stay over in a few weeks so maybe an idea!

Have more to post but need to get Chloe to take a nap, brb-ish lol

Hello all, hope were all well, George had his last needles today, and the HV has bruised his little leg!!! he screamed the place down, not surprised on how she stabbed him with, but he seems ok now, well this afternoon, we have been to look at 2 nurserys, the first one is the one we want George to go, but guess what, no places!!! arrrrrrrwwww, gutted, they said they will look into it a ring me up this week, the second one, was like a mad house, kids everywhere, wandering around, babies crying, and the place wasnt even clean, i know its a nursery, but it was dirty, and it smelt too, so back to the drawing board for us!!! hope everyone is doing well, also George is 5 Months Old Today!!!! Where has the Time gone
Flora im so happy Harry has been seen, hope the drops work asap!
KTE - Goodluck to your sister, hope all is well xxxxxxxxx

Sorry ladies, I need to get it off my chest but I would also like your opinions regarding Chloe and weaning, I don't want to think my stubbornness is clouding my judgement which ultimately affects Chloe.

Chloe has spent the odd day over the last 6 weeks at the CM (child minder) but basically minus this week she has stayed with her for 3 half days. Also, she spent just over half a day with her yesterday and obviously a full day today. That alone says to me that at the moment I know Chloe best.

Well, yesterday she had mentioned to Nij that she though Chloe might be hungry as she was always chewing her hands. Now to me this is not the be all and end all of 'she is ready to eat food', she drools for england so I still think its part of her teething (especially since a rubbing of bonjela helps reduce her hand chewing). She puts a few things to her mouth but not everything, I even said a while back to you all that I needed a cloth teether and Aimee mentioned one in boots, well its still the case, only a few items make it to her mouth . . . plus aren't babies suppose to 'taste' their surroundings to learn  I ranted at Nij saying no and that was that or so I thought!

This morning I dropped her off and the CM then mentioned to me about maybe she wants to eat, I left and she was saying to Chloe 'I bet you can't wait to try my shepherds pie . . ' Now I know she wouldn't feed her this but I was annoyed she was talking to Chloe about food like that, I though what is she psychologically trying to do here?!

I said to her want to wait and see fr myself as Chloe is still settling in and her routine is disrupted so I want her settled before I decided if it is weaning she needs or not. I then left as I had to get to work. I really wanted to rant that she is suggesting weaning when she doesn't even know Chloe this morning but B&B was down!

Part of her claim was also that Chloe wouldn't settle properly . . .erm well she is in a new place and the CM said she had tried rocking Chloe to sleep, Chloe doesn't like this. I had written down a whole page on how to settle Chloe and it said nothing about rocking her!

I moaned to my colleague (bet she missed me!) and then thought nothing more of it, just thought lets see how it goes.

Went to collect Chloe (who was asleep in a pram outside on her own which I was not impressed with I hasten to add! She was just waking up and was upset, if I hadn't of been there how long would she be on her own . . . the more I think the madder I get!!) and she started going on about weaning again. I let her say her piece, she was saying Chloe was unsettled in that she wouldn't sleep, she quickly drank her feeds and she didn't last very long doing an activity, she also sais she was really watching them all eat. Now in my mind is this 1) unsettled yes because everything is new so she has to get a new routine 2) there are other kids there and when things are going on or we are out and about she takes it all in and fights sleep, she is generally a nosey baby 3) erm she is JUST 4 months, how long is her attention span supposed to be for goodness sake! At home we play, read, play on something else, she watches me tidy, we play etc but I do have to change the task or scenery to keep her from getting grumpy 4) She has only eaten 2 feeds with CM, at home she would have eaten 4, again its because she is interested in what is happening 5) watching food, no she is watching people not the food! She took no interest in Nij's and my tea she was more bothered about making sure we were watching her being clever in her bouncy car!

So I said to CM I want to see how Chloe goes as she does this when we go away for the weekend etc, a change of place and people and she goes out of sync.

She started saying that baby rice would make Chloe sleep through. Chloe last night only drank 120ml, she normally take 90ml in two feeds. Anyway, am I right in thinking that it doesn't guarantee a full nights sleep as thats what she was insinuating.

I said to her Im not disregarding what she is saying but I want to wait until Chloe is more settled.

She started going on about a past parent who was going by a book and you don't need to wait until 6 months . . . I just said I know and I don't go by any book. She was also saying 'from her experience' and I just thought f-off! The last baby you worked with was 2 years ago and it does not mean that your so called experience is better than my decision. I might be a first time Mum but I am not daft and have young relatives!

What I really resented her saying was when she was saying 'Chloe would be happier' WOAH Emotional blackmail much?!!!!!!!

So yeah, she has agreed to let Chloe settle in but something tells me she has made up her mind and she will try and convince me no matter what.

I know in my gutt Chloe is not ready and I am not rushing her, if I think in a few weeks because of Chloe's actions/behavior then I will wean her. It wont be based on CM hearsay either!

Sorry its long!

kte: Sounds like she is pushing her luck, boundries and being disrespectful to you. She needs to wind her neck in. You have told her no, you SHOULD NOT have to explain your self and your choices about your child to her. She may very well have children, and may very well have looked after loads of kids, but this is no way putting her in a position to lecture you about how you should raise your child. At the end of the day, she is your employee. You pay her to look after your child to how YOU see fit.

I think you need to sit down and be firm with her. Tell her you appreciate her advice, but you do not want to hear anything else on the matter. When you and you alone decide that lil miss is ready for solid foods, you'll let her know.

4 month old babies do not put their hands in their mouths all the time because they are hungry, they do it because this is how they learn about the world thru texture and touch. As for drooling, it's just what they do.

If I were you, I'd be worried that she is in fact giving her something when you're not there, which is shit, because that means if she has had a taste, she is gonna want it now.
