Afternoon all, im not too bad Colsy just had a nap as being sick wore me out :haha: (sandwiches seem to induce instant vomiting )

The holiday cottages sound lovely 9I have noticed British holidays seem to be getting more expensive than foreign holidays)

It has got much quieter in here, I worry about coming in here due to ex etc.

Morning all,

I'm worries sick, posted in GS about it. Dunno what to do. Nij went on a mini road trip and I haven't heard from him since 22.22pm He has done this a few times before but is really good at being in contact, especially since trying to build back trust. I'm so worried and don't know where to start. I don't know if I should contact the police or wait until 7.00 when he said he would be home. He has 2 phones and I called both, left messages (voice and text) and as if yet no reply.

He has surfaced. I like how Chaos names him in GS thread 'the pleb' lol was asleep and his phones were on silent. He is normally so good at contacting but he said he was tired and 'just didn't think'. Cheers!

Ugh soon time to get up for work! :nope:
:hugs:

Morning all,

Me again  Think I have about innundated the Bumpkin thread this morning! :haha: It does get quiet, I tend to only go on in the day whilst I am at work, can pop in here and there. Only weeknds or when Nij is off I can visit on an evening. It's nice talking to us few ladies in here anyway but here's hoping that the other's will pop in from time to time and say hi and are all okay too :flower:

Ooo ooo exciting news! Chloe can now crawl forwards! :happydance: :cloud9: I went to pick her up yesterday from nursery and she was sat on the carpet, normally she see me and kind of flaps about and makes noises until somone gets her or if I am brave enough to take off my shoes and go get her (not always a good idea after walking up! :haha:). Yesterday she just got onto her hands and knees and started coming towards me, okay so it was very slowly, but she was doing it! Soooo happy & so proud! :cloud9:

Maffie: :hugs: Re sickness and ex :hugs: I know what you mean about foreign holidays seeming cheaper. I had a leaflet through my door the other day advertising a caravan holiday 'from only 399.00' Now don't get me wrong, I love caravan holidays but not 'starting' at that price!

Kaites: Hope you got a better night last night and today isn't as boring :flower:

Colsy: Sounds like you had a busy day the other day, hope you had fun at the group :D

Flora / Kaites: The man nipple / boob stories are hilarious!

Chaos: :hugs: Because I know your about, hope Autumn is feeling better :flower:

Aimee: How is the job hunting going? Hope people around 24/7 isn't driving you mad. Has 'Zoolander Earl' learnt to go left yet? :flower:

Chloe had her 7/8/9 month check this morning, Nij called me to fill me in on what went on. She is 98th centile for height, between 50-70th for weight (she now weighs 19lbs 5oz) and her head is on the 50th centile. She was given a toothbrush and some adult toothpaste in a pot and we were told to not use baby toothpaste. She was also given a weaning cup and the HV said to try and give her a milk feed in the free flow cnother ups now rather than the bottles to avoid bucking her teeth. (If she has my genetics she will get bucked bottom teeth regardless! We have always said she needs my teeth strenght but Nij's jawline.) We also got a bookstart bag with two books and info on joining the library. All in all she is developing well/on target for her age. :cloud9:

So it's another wet and dull day outside here, what do we all have planned? :flower: :hugs:

I'm waiting for the dr to open .. I've not had a wet nappy from her since yesterday afternoon .. she just has the runs and is throwing up and refusing anything liquid. I managed to get 1/2 once in her just now because she was half asleep. Blah.

Aww poor Autumn :nope: :hugs: and you, its horrible to see them so ill :hugs: Hope they open soon so you can get her sorted out xx

V quick as just got in and nearly time to go out again! Chaos, huge big hugs for you and Autumn, hope she gets better ASAP and you find you what's wrong. And Kte, well done to Chloe for crawling

Good evening ladies,

Thanks for all the queries. Life is good if not a little bit tight money wise. We miscalculated how much we would have and I'm now desperately jobhunting to try to get us back on the straight and narrow. I have about 4 applications to do tonight (determined to get them done!) and I've done loads of other research, emails. The agency are on the case and I have a possible interview on the 2nd August. I'm going to see the chap at that Museum I told you about on Thursday next week and we're applyingfor a council house in Norwich (appointment next week too). It's hectic but it's going to be worth it in a major fashion! I'm also working on the consultancy but it's going to be slow going on that front.

Kte - Well done on the crawling to Chloe! It's amazing when they first do it isn't it. It takes so much concentration! Now Earl gets quite a pace and managed to get to the back door this afternoon! He was so proud of himself but I'm slightly worried as now he knows where it is and there's a dog-flap!!

Chaos - I hope Autumn is ok. Earl's only ever been blocked up/teething so I can only imagine how hard it must be. I hope she feels better soon :hugs:

How's everyone else. I'm really crap at keeping up nowadays and I'm not sur things are going to get better any time soon! Best be off to do these applications.....oh the joys. I just want a job!! God dammit!

Oh, and until I get a job we can't afford to do Earl's Christening, so as soon as i'm employed, we'll be booking it! Also, had to drop the idea of a holiday too.....not happy! but it's all for the greater good I suppose!

Last one, I don't know if you remember, when I was about 7ish months we had a bit of a shunt in the car. They still haven't sorted it and now the legal team at the insurance want to take it further including possible compensation for me having to go to A&E with reduced fetal movement and abdo bruising. Will let you know how that goes too!

Best be off....bottles to make for small one too. Anyone else got a baby who'se really not interested in milk (i.e. first milk) and just wants cows milk/juice/water? Earl now only drinks 3oz at a time (4 bottles a day) with 1 nightfeed of about 6-7oz. I'm tempted to swap him to follow on but I think it's only 3 months and then we can go straight to toddler milk/cows milk anyway.

PC about to die. Have a good night ladies :flower:

Evening all

Aimee sounds like life is keeping you busy down there, oooh Norwich I used to like days shopping there (I lived in Great Yarmouth for a little while) Noah has started wanting a cup with something in when we have a coffee.

Off to get a lightweight pushchair for Noah tomorrow (second hand) Kte I still need a shopping trip

Cant remember what else I was going to write

Yay I have returned! Internet is now in hehe. Have skimmed the last million pages since I was on lol so I apologise for not answering everyones threads.

Quick update on things in the littlekitten household. I had surgery on Monday to remove pins from my thumb which ended up being slightly more complicated than they thought so I now have stitches and a stupid sling which I'm sposed to be wearing for 2 weeks....yeah right! I wore it til today lol. James is now majorly cruising...he walks right along our L shape sofa, all along the coffee table, the whole length of the kitchen! Yesterday he was standing holding the coffee table and tried to reach over to the tv cabinet. He was about an inch from making it and fell on his bum lol. He now lets go for a few seconds before realising he has done it and flopping down. He weighs about 18 and a half pounds now. His check isn't until August 11th so will let you know how it goes.

Maffie- how are things going? I vote for a bump pic!

How is everyone? Its crazy how much I've missed my bumpkin girlies lol.

Hey LK, good to hear from you :-) Sounds like James is well ahead developmentally. Go, boy!

I know there's only a few BFing Bumpkins left, but am I the only one whose child has a serious personality/sleep/feed change when I get my period? I'm on my third period since Monty was born (strange how I've gone right back to a super-regular monthly cycle), and each time he's gone into meltdown in terms of feeding, sleeping and generally behaving. OH is absolutely convinced that it's the hormones in my milk affecting him. I know your milk supply is meant to drop when you get your period, but I have searched and searched and searched the internet and still I can't find anything to suggest that anything apart from feeding should be affected by my hormones. So maybe to answer my Q above - yes, I am the only one whose baby changes!

Last time this happened we bought some HIPP milk just in case. Now it's sitting in the pantry winking at me, teasing me ... however, once we go down that route, then I presume that's that, because if we give formula instead of BF, my supply dries up and then I don't even have the option of BF any more. I don't want to stop now ... but on the other hand I am slightly wearing of these troubled nights and ridiculously early mornings. Ho hum.

Morning all,

Ugh . . . . . . . . fissure back  Wish I were sat on some frozen peas right now!

Heya LK, welcome back :hugs: Hope your thumb/hand gets better soon; can't imagine a cruising James and a sling go together all that well! Hows the new home? Training? Work? :flower:

Colsy, if you still expressed your milk should be fine (as long as it's matching how he normally feeds; when I expressed it was only in the morning's and at night and I dried up as it wasn't enough but then my milk supply was jiggered by then already - anyway, what my waffle is meaning to say is I am sure I have read it elsewhere too that you need to express quite often to stimulate your milk supply). I think it's just getting Monty back onto the boob that could cause problems, what's it called, nipple/teat confustion  :flower:

Chloe is teething again quite badly, she was sat playing with her 'baby bean' teddy, gave a yelp and shoved her (the teddy/doll) in her mouth. :dohh:

TFI FRIDAY! :happydance: :haha: It's the all important question - anyone any nice plans for the weekend?

I am determined to gutt the bedroom this weekend at some point! oh and its 'inlaws' weekly visit on Sat.

Just a quick post re Colsy's question re breast feeding. Can't comment on the difficulties when you have your preiod as mine has still not returned! Phoebe does have a bottle of formula last thing so Daddy can feel more involved but I still feed her on demand during the day which can mean anything from one to four feeds at the moment. My supply seems to be ok how ever many times she feeds though I have occasionally had to express a little as I think my body was ready for Phoebe to feed when she didn't want to. Would agree with Kte's suggestion re expressing though I wouldn't worry too much about nipple confusion as I never found it an issue and none of my breastfeeding friends have either. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

hey all im just wondering on this 9 month check thing. We havent had one for sam, do i have to make the appointment myself? or see the HV?

hey all im just wondering on this 9 month check thing. We havent had one for sam, do i have to make the appointment myself? or see the HV?

I automatically got a letter from the HV saying they were coming, they called it the 7/8/9 month check so I guess wide enough to have time to cover lots of babies! I think it's different in each area so maybe give the HV a call to see? :flower:

Hello just wanted to say "hi" :flower:

Florabean sent me the link from the itty bitty babies thread as Megan was born last October so she thought it would be good for me to chat with mums of similar age LO's.

Bit about us...We emigrated to Canada in Nov 08, had been told that we would probably never have LO's without help. We'd been trying for years but thought we'd give it one last go and 3 months after arriving Megan arrived. Must've been the cold winter :winkwink:

Anyway, unfortunately she was diagnosed with colic and reflux, put on medication and had a very rare, serious allergic reaction. Her skin blistered, burnt and peeled, she stopped BF and was generally very ill. I was told to supplement with formula which made her really poorly, only to find out she has a milk allergy too. To make matters worse she wouldn't take a bottle at all and I had to syringe feed her for weeks

Thankfully all is well now although we have just been through a horrendous time with separation anxiety, stranger anxiety and her first two teeth all at once. It was horrific for a while. I still can't leave her to go to the loo or anything. She also had the "stranges" with my DH of all people and he couldn't go anywhere near her :nope:

Have your LO's been through separation anxiety yet and if so how long does it last?

Jo: Awh no poor Sam! Hope he is okay now! Lol I think Id do that too tho! lol

 Hello megewansmum & welcome to the Bumpkins :flower:

Sorry to hear about all the problems you had at first but glad things are now well :D

Chloe has gone through another separation anxiety stage recently but I think her going to nursery everyday has helped her overcome that quite quickly but it has been around 3 weeks-ish. I started to say hello and bye when just leaving the room at short bursts so she gets used to me coming and going and that seems to be working well, now and then she has a moan or a grizzle then calms down but most of the time she is okay with it.

I have noticed with Chloe that if I am around then she will get upset even in OH's arms but if he gets her out of bed and she isn't aware I am there then she is fine. They spent all yesterday together and were fine but as soon as I was home for work only Mummy would do!

She isn't that shy of strangers, usually, she was at my work yesterday :dohh: Although after a while once she has sussed people or places she is okay.

Hope the teethies have stopped giving her grief :flower:
