Hey girls i was thinking, remember that link that Tracey posted on the FB group about Cake International?

Why dont we make it a meet? Its only about a tenner a ticket and no more than a couple of hours drive for most of us? Would be nice to get everyone from this thread together :)

haha more than a couple of hours from here!! But possibly..... could stay in a travel lodge!!
 
I think its about 2 hours drive for me, im definatley up for a road trip, just need something worthwhile to make up for getting a numb bum sitting in my bloody car :lol:

Girls its not far from me....i think around half and hour to 40 mins...will check with OH
If anyone needed a place to say i dont mind.
Or if anyone stays over night in a hotel i can help with accomodation.

its a toughy if u dont know what the mans into...if he has a hobby it will be alot easier!! football, rugby, golf, video games, beer etc, depend son the type of bloke!
id just ask her what he was into xx

yeah the cake show is a long drive for me too.....i have to watch a dvd on my laptop on the way down there before n the laptop battery died :(


theres big queues aswell as top gear was on the same day.
we drove all that way n walked round the place in 15 mins being knocked from left to right with people squeezing and pushing in. and i could buy the stuff cheaper myself from the internet! LOL
it would have been a good experience if i didnt get pushed around so much! i couldnt get to the stalls, they were just packed out!!
i bought a jigsaw piece cutter...and havent used it yet LOL

Ohhhh I ve just finished Ants birthday cake...I am soooo pleased with it...especially how the horse came out, even though he's the wrong way round:dohh: I got too excited and realised once I was halfway through coloring him..:blush:

I did the trick with the fondant by not turning it owver and it looks soooo much better! I also did 2 layes of fondant as I think Im having trouble with getting the thickness right as it looked a bit thin, so I did another thinnish one and chucked that over too..made hell of a difference:haha:

Tracey I keep texting her and asking and she just says "dunno"!! :wacko:!! Think ill just do some chocolate and vanilla topped with chocolate scrolls and stars

Todays Cupcakes

Vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and hundreds and thousands and stars and Vanilla sponge with chocolate fudge buttercream. The ones with a Galaxy Counter on top have Galaxy counters in the sponge too :)
