how would i make lemon buttercream, normal butter cream then put some lemon juice in? x
 
booth...yeah it just lemon juice and lemon zest in buttercream (just add more icing sugar to thicken it back up )

im sooo happy they came out of the tins without a fuss! all that greasing worked lol, i cant believe they came out so good, and they actually taste nice too cus i broke abit of the inside off and taste lol,

cant decide what to inside now might do lemon curd and then runny icing on the top!

finished cake! i used lemon buttercream and lemon runny icing on top looks really good gotta wait for OH to get home to eat it though haha so another hour,

i made way too much butter cream how long will it be alright for in the fridge?

im gunna make some cupcakes later i think and use it up! xx

the top of the cake came off on the plate when it was cooling so i need to buy a cooling wrack hha xx

i have my second batch of lemon cupcakes in the oven, i made too much batter :dohh:

just made lemon buttercream again and got some yellow food colouring before and those little sugar lemon slice things to put on top im making them for my mum cus shes moving house this weekend!

gunna try that cutting the top off thing and putting lemon curd in the middle i think xx

Im not very happy with them, thats the smallest i can get without them getting screwed up!
They are made out of fondant! Xx
 
could you not just cut the outline out and then maybe use royal icing or those writing icings you can get from the shop to do the features?
 
I could do hun, but I would need a bright white and a very steady hand…and I think they will kind of look better cut out!

i really need to get a piping bag cus i cant get on with greaseproof paper at all just cant do it :dohh: so ended up just whacking the icing on again,

i had one for breakfast and they are really nice and light not bad to say i completly improvised the recipe!


how many eggs are you supposed to use for 12 cupcakes? xx

what is the purpose of the egg? i only used 1 cus i was meant to be making 6 but ended up with loads of mix, they came out really good though probably the best iv made, in the past i always feel like my cakes taste 'eggy' no one else thinks that though but i dunno, i really surprised myself with these,
iv spent more than i shouldve on cake making stuff this week, so i hope i actually stick to it, i have a habit of deciding to make something a hobby, spending a fortune on stuff for it then never doing it,
its pretty theraputic baking though ( i dont suppose it is if you do it proffessionally!) and it is really nice when you work on something and then people really like them! xx
