Note: If anyone has a TJ Hughes near them, they are doing the silicone cases £1 and wire cupcake stands for £7.99

A bit like this one: https://www.arcskyline.com/caryl/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/cupcake-stand.jpg

I've only ever used the choc fudge frosting and it always looks softer and runnier than my buttercream.

I just use 2 to 3 tablespoons of margarine, teaspoon of vanilla essence, tiny bit of milk and then just add icing sugar until it's the thickness i want.

Thanks all... so much. I will have an experiment withthem then.

The buttercream style betty crocker did work better but its yellower in colour and my theme is white/ivory not cream.. certainly not that cream! lol

I'll try to make my own too.. but will have to use a lightly coloured butter I suspect like lurpak or something!

dont quote me but in sure you can get a lightener... also i have a cream food colouring which is quite good, maybe try something like that?

hiiiiii betty crocker do two different ones, one is vanilla style and there is another one is really yellowy and the other is an ivory colour i think the other maybe a buttercream style which ever one youve had try the other one.
Sorry thats a bit vague good luck x

this is a cake for my cousins little girl who wanted a cake with a cat on like hello kitty but not the same...... awkward!! and its by no means perfect but its okay for a first try at icing a proper cake...so much to learn :(

So I have been meaning to upload these for ages now!
Finally got to trying out the rose swirly things on the top of the cupcakes, really pleased with it and now prefer them to the other 'proper' swirls!
so - vanilla cupcakes and mars bar cupcakes for dads birthday (the mars bar ones turned out alright in the end, thank god i remembered the eggs just after I had put them in the oven rather than at the end!)
