Eoz your cupcakes look fab, I would dive right into them.

I haven't done any since my last lot, I have some ordered for the end of the month, I've gone back to work fulltime until Dec and I just cannot fit it in, I'm getting withdrawl though so may do some tomorrow for us.

I do have some simple ones to do for children in need for Emily's school, I was going to get some Pudsey bear cases but no way am I paying £4.25 delivery on £1.49 cases

Do you have a Lakeland near you? They have the children in need cases. :)

Ive got my niece's 1st birthday cake to make and im dying to make it. If i made it tomorrow would it be ok for tuesday or am i best off doing it on monday? x

If you are covering it in sugarpaste/roll out icing then it will be fine if you do it tomorrow (a sponge will keep covered in sugarpaste for 5 days i think)

Well I made some ginger cake today, couldn't find my recipe so used a tesco one, my advice DO NOT USE IT

The flour went lumpy and weird folding into the the syrup mixture, I had to wizz it a bit to get the lumps out, took ages to cook then sunk badly (never ever happens to me)
Tastes ok though, no pics as it looks crazy bad

I did a practice run of chocolate cupcakes (just the cakes, no icing) for AJ's birthday on Friday.
They must be ok, AJ scoffed one and so did OH!
Will let AJ decorate them tomorrow for fun, well if he doesnt eat all the sprinkles before the hit the cakes!

oh god just caught up on two weeks worth of posts!!!
Been crazy busy sewing buggy covers and sets. Just in the middle of a zebra print one!!

.. wish I could say with baking but after halloween I have no excuses to cook any. My weight wont allow it and I have toothache and unti. I see teh dentist to get a filling I wont bake them for me cosa I wont be able to resist eating them. :(
I havent even loaded pics of the halloween ones. Is it too late now or shall I just post them? :(

Hullo Ladies! :hi:

Just wanted to come by and say hi-I am an avid cake maker and baker in general...I got given a Kenwood Chef last Christmas by my OH and its opened a whole world of doors for me! (not sure who he bought it for-me or for his benefit!)

Last week I made a Strawberry Roulade, week before a Carrot and Pineapple cake, and this weekend I made my sister a birthday cake-A Giant Cupcake in double chocolate pound cake with pink buttercream icing. It was lush!

Anyhoo, I just wanted to say hi and hope to stick around for a little while to fish some ideas and chat in general.

Post them Tsia!!
I hope you are feeling better sonn :hugs:

:hi: Donna
I have a kenwood chef too I adore it, would really like an extra bowl but dunno if I can justify the £££

I even use mine to mash my spuds

I got THREE extra bowls for my Kenwood, as well as an extra K-paddle, whisk and dough hook at various boot sales over the years. Most I paid was a fiver, I think. You can also get them from eBay, they have them advertised quite often. Why buy new and spend the dosh? :happydance:

Well It started when I broke my hand and couldn't mash properly

Boil them as normal, drain and bang them in a bit of butter and whizz on 1 or 2 for a minute add milk then high wizz for a minute or so, I use the flexi paddle, I never get lumps now, so do it all the time :)

they were just for fun really.. wasnt trying to impress anyone.. and a few little kids of my mates helped along with my 13 year old little sister! .. then we happily gave them out to trick or treaters. Who knows how many local trick or treaters are still alive today! lol

and here is a quick batch of 12 I did within 2 hours from start to finish after learning my friend gave birth to a baby boy and only just got home yesterday. >

The toppings are baby feet shapes make out of rice paper. I make them myself and sell them on ebay! lol
They are really popular! - but the snowflake ones I sell and xmas mixes are getting popular now too.

Those baby boy cupcakes look brill!

I'm doing my next cake soon..just for my daughters 13th but she wants a hot pink with zebra stripes 2 tier cake!! I've never attempted a 2 tier cake before but Ive done alot of reading about how best to do it..you put dowels (drinking straws cut to same height as the cake) into the bottom cake?? And sit the top tier cake onto a thin cake board just slightly smaller than the size of the cake so you don't see it. Is this right?

Also...just how hard are zebra stripes to make? I've got a feeling I've bitten off more than I can chew here :dohh: xxx
