Ladies- I really could do with selling some cupcakes. We have a shortfall of about £100 a month now that I'm not going back to work, so if I get a decent cake order or a little market stall or something going to just make me £25 a week would be great but I'm unsure of the legal health and safety stuff, not to mention how to go about it? xx

You'll need a Food & Hygiene cert - there about £25, its an exam as far as i'm aware! And if you're going to be a business you'll need to register yourself, dont need to be VAT registered as you wont be earning enough (think its about 20k before that needs to be done!) Your home may need to be checked to see it complies with legal requirements etc, not sure how exactly as i've not done it yet but this is something i'm going to be doing in the new year as I want to start my own business from home!

my very first
its just plain sponge, lemon flavoured green icing and betty crocker fudge icing on the stump bit. lol
Decorated with silver smarties I got off ebay and red food colouring for tinsel effect. the odd sprinkle of edible stars and topped off with a big edible paper star
I wasnt into baking this time last year

Sounds a great idea but could add alot of undue pressure on you just before the event.

Not yet, but I believe they are a pain in the arse! You shouldnt touch em with your hands/fingers and should be applied like right at the last minute to stop humidity etc tarnishing the 'clarity'
