 Wow, that'd be tough. Good luck hun!

Well, since no one decided to help me with the whole fondant thing ( ) I decided to try out a Rainbow Cake I had seen around. I didn't feel like doing sheets, so I made it like a "tie-dye" cake. I'm happy with it, although I put too much batter in the pan so the top split.

Dolloped globs of different coloured batter in the pan

Finished baking, too much batter?

Finished icing. I'm not good with trying to make it smooth so I decided to go swirly.

How it looked when you cut in. As you can probably see it was really crumbly!

The slice! I'm happy with it, aside from it crumbling. :)

The cake was really crumbly though... not sure how to fix that?

wow thats brill its REALLY bright!
turned out ace!

love ur swirly icing too!
not sure on the crumbly thing? is it ur recipe? or did u bake it too long?

what help did u need with the fondant hun? dont think i saw that post? xx :hugs:

It's okay! I'm not sure if I have the patience to work with fondant. I was wondering if anyone had any good recipes for it.

I'm torn between doing this Rainbow Cake for Claire's first birthday or give Fondant a go. I dislike the taste of fondant so atm I'm leaning more towards the rainbow one. :)

omg i love that cake! its fab im gonna have to try that

tyff....i just buy my fondant pre made (too much messing for me to make my own!!) however if u dont like the taste of it, you could try MMF (marshmallow fondant) im not quite sure how thats made, but it looks easier than making normal fondant, and its supposed to taste 10X nicer! i think its just melted marshmallows n icing sugar? someone else should know on here...i think someone mentioned they had made it before :flower:

thanks andrea n littlebubs for doing research for me :)
ill have to be pretty quick if she wants one....i need maximum drying time! lol
so....i suppose i could just make the support higher, to get a higher heel....BUT would it keep its shape or would it be likely to snap?? ooooo im bricking it! lol

can you use a chocolate stick or something strong but thin ? just an idea, I'm new on baking myself,ha ha ha...

can that girl want any thing (cake) more difficult to make ? maybe easier to buy a shoe and put it on the cake ha ha ha...just kidding (these shoes are bl***y expensive)

Hey girls

Wow your cakes look amazing more and more every time i come in to say hi.
Tyff i love the bright colours in your cake, Andrea yummy cupcakes as always :D Good luck with the shoe cake nuttymum.

Just quickly in need of some advice. Rosie's cake is all sorted, am just going to make a giant no'1 with pink fondant and then different pastal style fondant circles or something.
But i want to make some cupcake style cakes, Andrea kind of like the ones you made for Daisy's birthday cake, as the theme is teddy bears picnic, going to do like butterflys and teddy bears, but just wondered how i'd go about doing this? Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks girls xxx

Just finished making "White Chocolate Cheesecake" :winkwink:
the kitchen is too hot though, the chocolate was running and when i tried to grate it, it stuck on my fingers and the cake started running as well

have to put up with that when you live in the hot country and i don't have air-con in the kitchen
