TJG - those are fab cakes x Your really talented x
Casseysuri - not sure on the price hun x maybe £45?? x

aarrgghhhhh, just made my cakes for my friends birthday & they look like biscuits!!!!! I guessed at how much mixture to put in the cases & its obviously not enough, which means I've got to remake them all aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh :growlmad:

Reedy, I always fill my cases a third full and I always use the same spoon so I know how much a scoop is.. If you have an ice cream scoop you can use that too. Lots of people use that trick, it has just enough in it for a cupcake.

Todays ones.

The pink ones were for my friends 24th birthday and another friend asked me if she could have 24 as she just felt like eating lots of cake lol.. The flower ones are for another friend who lost her baby son at 3 weeks old a few weeks back, we all added something to a hamper for her.

I have a 1st birthday to do tomorrow and an 18th birthday to do Sunday.

Laura - so sorry for your friend, can't even begin to imagine what she's going through x the hamper is really thoughtful x

As usual your cuppies look amazing, that's what I want mine to look like x can I ask you some questions??
1) how do you get the White/cream buttercream??
2) what nozzle do you use on your piping bag to get that effect??

Thanks Hun, very much appreciated xxx
My sister keeps saying about the I've cream scoop, think I'll have to get One x
My cakes turned out ok in the end, my friend loved them anyway lol x they weren't my best & I know I can do better so will probably try again another day x

Thats just the normal colour of my buttercream but you can buy whitener from sugarflair, they also do another whitener called snowdrop.
The nozzle is a 1m. I have a few others I use also but the 1m is my main one and I have two of them.

What butter do you use then? Because mind always comes out a yellow colour! X

It all depends on your butter. I would suggest you use tesco value butter its 98p. Put it in the microwave until its soft and use 8oz, then add in your icing sugar gradually. You can buy whitener to make it white but if you add enough icing you dont really need it...

Here are some I did for the first birthday! My God my neck was killing me after cutting all those letters out using the tappits..
I'm after a larger size in the tappits so been looking for them..

Oh my god Laura, They must have take you soooo long! They look fantastic

I wish I had been warned about tappits! The icing has to be exact, the time it takes, how delicate they are. Lol.. I did find them much easier to deal with when they were hard and I didnt actually break one.. I did have some to do today but I got a little sozzled last night with my sister and I ended up having to get them done and out of here so didnt manage to take pics lol.. Im hoping the birthday girl got one for me!
