Agreed!!!! I was crap at icing until I discovered this little gem.. Here's an example of "my work"

They look gorgeous, where do you get the nozzles from? Just had a browse online and didn't see any!

I've recently invested in a grass tip. I'll find out if I'm any good at it on Friday :s

How are yours getting mankey?? They shouldn't rust?!

The ones I have are my Grandmas ones which shes had for a good 10yrs  Thanks for your help everyone!! :)

I agree. Wilton 1M. I was trying to use a small star tip to ice cupcakes and it didn't look right at all. I googled it and found the 1M, bought one and used it on Rocco's birthday cupcakes this past weekend and it looked great!

I got mine from hobby craft for £9.99 but this website is brilliant for cakey things https://www.cakescookiesandcraftsshop.co.uk/

smaller ones end up making it look like a big poo

The french tip from Wilton! I am in love... Its my favourite at the moment.. Even takes over from 1m!!

Ebay for everything here also, much cheaper than Hobbycraft.. I also have a cake shop nearby that sells all the stuff, bit more expensive but not by too much...

the french nozzle im not too keen on but theres a rose one thats gorgeous.

My friend has the rose nozzle and its a rip off. Its exactly like the 1m lol

Has anyone tried a 2d rose tip? I'm unsure if its worth getting as I love my 1m :)

Thats the one I am talking about in my last post.. Its pretty much the same as a 1m. You can do rose swirl with a 1m

the nozzle is different imo. the rose one has much more defined edges.

Thanks lovelies, have ordered a 1m, 233, 104 or am about to order a 2d! :)

Thanks girls, I'll get on it :flower: Got a batch of fairy cakes baked and waiting to be iced!

The 2D is best for Roses. It gives a definite "rose" effect. I'll add pics in a sec of a 1M rose and then a 2D rose I've done. The 2D can be used for beautiful ruffled swirls too.
1B is fab for a really big soft swirl. It's HUGE and looks like each line was hand created.
233 is a fantastic grass tip for grass effects but also using coloured icing you can make it look like hair or fur etc.
1M is a great classic swirl nozzle.

There are others. I tend to get a few new ones every month and see what I can create with them.

cakes, cookies and crafts is the best site I've found for nozzles. Please PLEASE don't buy them on Ebay. They overcharge so badly. You should never be paying more than about £2.50 for a Wilton nozzle.

Pics 3-5 - 2D roses. It helps that I learnt the tinted petal effect too. But you can see the shape is better with this one.
