**CALLING ALL CLOMID GIRLS!!!** Pls answer our poll :O)

Well a faint pink line showed up within 3 minutes this morning so I'm hoping and keeping FX. I am going to call the doctor today for a blood test. I pray for this to be a sticky bean! I'll post the picture later if I can.

:wohoo::wohoo: finger crossed for you hun :wohoo::wohoo:

Another question for all of my clomid graduate buddies :)

Before ovulation I didn't have any visable cm (I wasn't dry though) but now I have a lot of creamy cm. I don't want to take this as a sign of pregnancy...

Is this normal?

(although my ticker says I am only 3DPO, I am actually 5 going by fertility friend...)

Last cycle, I had creamy CM all the way to 2 days before AF, when it changed to wet CM.

I'm taking a break from BnB, had my 4th MC yesterday. Feeling pretty drained. Seems I'm an angel supply factory. Very angry & bitter I must say & just need to heal.

Aw, shangeas! I'm so sorry this happened! :hugs:

Please take care of yourself and we'll be here when you get back. Again, I'm so sorry...

littlebird, ur chart looks really good with that big dip at 3DPO, hoping it's ID :happydance::happydance::happydance:

i finally graduated as well :amartass: wishing so much i could say this in real life too

day1 for me, hoping for better luck this month... thinking of taking clomid day3-7 rather than 5-9 in the hope of ovulating before day20

my specialist says she always prescribes clomid day5-9 and even in the info leaflet in the box there is written to be taken day5-9... so i am not sure...

what to do graduates think??

I'm sorry AF came. I hope the next cycle is it for you!

I think you would be fine taking it CD3-7. I took it CD4-8 both times so far and I was considering CD3-7 next time, if there is a next time. I may also ask to switch to something different since apparently Clomid makes my CM very hostile to the point where I have to have an IUI to even have a chance. We'll see what happens. But I definitely think you're fine taking it earlier. It may increase your chance for multiples, so if you're just taking it earlier to move up ovulation, I'm not sure it will have that effect.

Awesome! Let us know how it goes! :happydance:

what i understand of clomid is that it is a synthetic estrogen which binds to estrogen receptor, they need to be full for your pituitary gland to start secrete fsh which in turn switches on secretion of lh triggering maturation of follicles and release of an egg...

by day 5 of your cycle you should have already started production of estrogens so clomid is a further help, this is what it was designed for and marketed for. doctors have noticed through blood tests and ultrasounds that for many people with very delayed ovulation and absent ovulation that their body doesn't start this mechanism or it starts it too late, it is as if your body is at rest or has a very low production activity so giving clomid before day 5 starts up the mechanisms. it usually takes the body to respond to this high and synthetic occupation of receptor from 5 to 10-12 days, therefore the sooner you start the sooner you you respond and ovulate.
for what i know, there isn't any research looking at follicle production in different days of intake of clomid, my guess is that if some specialist says this, they speak maybe for experience rather that scientific research, which is acceptable anyway, i am not saying it is not.
last cycle i took it day 5-9 and it took me 11 days to respond, i will probably have the same reaction time any day i take it, as far as it is the same dose, so instead of ovulating on day 20 i'll maybe ovulate on day17, reaction time will be the same but i'd started 3 days before...

as or multiples, the only study conducted is the one reported in the leaflet and of course they couldn't take into consideration familiarity first of all because for monozygous twins the mechanism is unknown and also because many times people do not know...

overall, chances of multiple pregnancy is increased by 10%...

so going by this, i am keen on taking it day3-7 but of course i still have some doubts... in the end it was marketed for day5-9 and my specialist seems to think that's the best way of taking it...

i hope there wont be a next time for you... this 1 has to be your BFP cycle!!!!
do you find bd difficult even using conceive+? i didn't have problems with cm this month but i used conceive + anyway, just in case, at which cycle did this problem start for you?

good luck hun, really hope you'll have your BFP soon!!

I wonder if you could get a prescription for 150mg -- I know that when my FS estimated ovulation on CD16-17, she didn't seem happy with that length of time and increased the dosage for the next cycle. Did they do a follicle check for you? Were they happy with the results from Clomid last cycle?

For me, BD wasn't difficult, I use pre-seed and had no problems with it. I think the problem that FS noticed was sticky, thick CM up near the cervix, like a wall preventing the sperm from swimming through. No amount of pre-seed would be able to change that. I don't think everyone has this reaction to Clomid, but it is pretty common.

I didn't really have much time to notice CM changes because I got the hCG trigger and the IUI the next day. But last cycle, I still had good CM, and a couple of days of EWCM. When I went in for the follicle check last month, she mentioned that CM could be a problem, because it was still sticky, but since it was CD13 and I was ovulating a few days later I didn't really worry about it. This cycle, since the follicle was pretty big on CD13, the FS probably expected ovulation to occur sooner and realized that CM wasn't loosening up.

i didn't have any checks this month as my specialist is in my home country, i did speak with her and she said that I ovulated and had a longer lp so she doesn't see the need for increasing the dose. i have thought about it though, i have more clomid than i need for the 3 months, so it wouldn't be a prob to take more, i don't need another prescription...

but i don't know, i understand all the mechanism behind clomid and receptor occupancy because i am a scientist but i am not a fertility specialist and above all i am blinded by the fact that i want a bfp as soon as i can... and this doesn't play in favour of rationality...

may speak to the specialist again see if we can discuss this a little more...

thank you hun, there is no better way i think than sharing experiences...

Well, I think it's something to consider. 150mg is still a reasonable dose, IMHO. I see a lot of people on that dose. I don't think I'd increase it any more than that, though.

I hope that this cycle is the one for you! It's frustrating to change the dose or the days and have to wait several weeks to see if it helped anything. And you're not getting follicle checks so even if you ovulated, it's hard to say whether the follicles were progressing well or not. I understand rationality losing out to your dreams. I still can't believe that DH and I did IUI with so little time to discuss and decide.

...this all situation is getting to me... i am a control freak, when i do something i get what i want... and of course, with ttc, nobody is really in control and there is the possibility of not getting the results i want.... and this stresses me quite a lot...

how is the IUI experience, it must have been kind of a shock to have to decide so fast... is it painful?
how is the endometrium lining going for you? this is another thing i am concerned about increasing dose... but i think that being the first day of AF today is defo not the best day for me to think about side effects or planning anything... i am too emotional achey and pissed off with my reproductive system...

Yes, the lack of control in all this is driving me crazy too!

The IUI itself is easy. The process itself is a lot like the HSG and water sono I had done. Speculum, catheter, remove speculum. Then they inject the sperm through the catheter and you have to lay with your hips elevated 15-20 mins.

I did have some cramping when the sperm was introduced. But definitely not enough to make me hesitate to do it again. It was very easy. I went home and rested, they say you can go back to the office, but I work from home so I just took it extra easy. I felt crampiness/tenderness the rest of the day, and went to bed early. But the cramps could have been ovulation -- I know my ovulation pains are much more noticeable after Clomid. Part of me was excited to get to do the IUI. The other part was sad that I was doing it, sad that DH wasn't 100% on board, but he wanted to make me happy. So I have mixed feelings. If it works, I'm sure those will disappear! :)

My FS has said that my lining looked great both times I went in for the follicle check on CD13. I didn't get numbers, though. I was under the impression that thinning lining could be more of an issue if you take Clomid long-term. As long as I limit my exposure to 3-6 cycles, I'm not too worried about it.

I understand being upset. I kinda feel like I've been betrayed by my body and my reproductive system. And it's definitely gotten harder this cycle compared to last cycle. Give it time, you have two days to decide what dose you're going to take! :)

:happydance::happydance:So heres the final verdict, I hope..:happydance::happydance:
