Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

I heard about the benefits to breast milk, which is another reason I want to take it!

See, now this is where it gets confusing, I've heard from 30 weeks and some people say only take it from a few weeks before the due date. I was going to start taking it in a week(ish)?

Ahhh around my mouth is so dry (I so just typed "dirt" LOL) that it hurts to move it...lucky for Kyle that means less talking.

Actually from what Ive researched and talked to other pumping moms about it...it works WAAAAY better if you take it with Blessed Thistle for breast milk.

Start taking as soon as baby is here. At a herbal store. Fenugreek seed is really great too.

I dont think you will have any troubles with breast milk though! Unless you have family history of not being able to produce enough? Nothing and I mean nothing produces more milk like a baby does! This is probably TMI but I pump and then bf Lakai...and I tend to put him on one side for a week and its amazing the amount of milk that comes into just that one boob for the next times I pump.

Ok Lakai is hugging my arm and watching Baby E *swoon*

Never TMI!

It's all good to know. My mom didn't have any issues, apparently she had to use faceclothes down her bra because the breast pads weren't doing it for her.
She said that while she was feeding us on one boob her other boob would be leaking like a faucet.
My sister had issues with her last one, although I think that was an infection of sorts.
She seems to be doing good this time although her milk didn't come in fast enough so she's had to switch back and forth between formula.

Is that normal? I was really hoping to just breast feed if I'm able.

*edit* Totally love Lakai, he is such a little sweetheart <3

Rachel, a more expensive, but very yummy option is to buy the Weleda Nursing Tea. It is about $10 a box, but if you bought one, you could probably figure out which herbs to buy in bulk and then blend together.
You could do that at the Kootenay Coop, for sure and it would save you lots.
I drank nettle tea and RRLT. I have no idea if it made a difference in labour, but taking a moment with a nice cup of herbal tea is always good, I think. :)
Oh, if anyone is going to the States, get yourself some Mother's Milk and Pregnancy teas from Traditional Medicinals. Soooo good.

Oh good idea! I wanted to head over there on Monday to see about the stuff for miso soup too. I'll definitely take a look if we stop in there. Thank you :D

As requested! Here is my random photo for the weekend.
Enjoy!
