Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

I guess I'm just not that worried about vaccines. Neither is Nathan...we just do what our doctor recommends.

Hey just wanted to let you ladies know...if you need winter jackets for your little ones there are some really cute ones on sale today at Baby Half off. Here is the link if anyone is interested.

I dont worry about the flu shot because of the reason Brig posted... I never got gardasil because its been shown to have fertility effects on women coming up to child bearing age.... I trust the MMR because its been around for so long... but new vax im a big more worried about.

I also believe that there is a line of over vaccinating... and the more we vaccinate, the more stronger the bugs get.

I fully vaccinate myself due to the fact I handle money and serve literally hundreds of customers every day that I'm at work. I could catch anything and bring it home with me- so if I can prevent a couple of things, why wouldn't I?

That being said, I haven't had Gardasil and I wouldn't have it done for Elyse. Andrew thinks the flu shot is some kind of conspiracy so he and Elyse don't get it- but he used to get it, because he's up to his elbows in poo somedays

 Tasha, I never get tired of your descriptions of Andrew's job.

hmm andrews job sounds shockingly like mine... where does he work again??? I work in a hospital around sick people ...

I had gardasil a couple years ago... and conceived J 1st month of NTNP??? I've never had a bad reaction to any vac's and J will follow the vac schedule. If i'm at the dr's and they offer flu, we might both get it, but i probably wont go looking for it.

we had a good sing & sign class and we have to finish Selena's cupcakes today :)

My doctor is very pushy (well not my doctor Hannah's pediatrician) on some vacs that aren't on the schedule that I don't really feel are necessary.

for the flu vacc we didn't used to get it but after suffering (with Hannah going to an emergency walk-in clinic on Christmas Eve) over Christmas break with the kiddo a couple of years ago we have been getting it. Plus with my pregnancy I feel better getting it :) And Tasha we catch every freaking thing as well  though since eating healthier/losing weight I have found that my colds aren't nearly as bad as they used to be  We tend to catch a cold every month from October/November-March/April.

Anyone have anything fun planned for the weekend?

Nope! I'm working tonight, P's working tomorrow night and Sunday we're relaxing hopefully. Although I think my Mom wants us to come over, which I am not overly thrilled to do atm. But I probably will, just cuz I have issues with her doesn't mean that Claire shouldn't see her. :argh:

Sara- I think it is like most things... Not everyone is affected by gardasil... but they are finding there is a higher infertility rate of women who have had the gardasil vax... I wouldn't want to risk it.

I just got up to close my blinds because it's starting to warm up in here a lot from the sun

All the time I just spent on treat bags for a few of our friend’s kids and I could have just given them some rocks lol. Next time I am calling Hannah for advice.

On the vitamin front I am still taking my prenatal vitamins right now but should be taking some Calcium as well because I hate milk and osteoporosis runs in my family. I also took iron while pregnant also.
I used to take Calcium, and Vitamin D a few years ago as well as an iron supplement because I wasn’t eating meat and didn’t get enough calcium.

Hello everyone!

Brandi, not sure how much you have paid into your reversal but could you take the money back off that if this is what you really need/want to do right now?

Hope the visit goes well with your mom Tiff. :hugs:

I haven’t gotten the flu shot for years and nor has OH but we don’t discuss it with his mom because she is always on us about it. B will be getting all her other vaccines although I’m not sure what my thoughts are on the chicken pox one. My friend’s daughter had it and then still got chicken pox twice after although both mild.

How are things going with your OH’s friend who is staying with you guys?

Hope you have been well Terri.

B and I both had a runny nose yesterday and she prefered wiping it on my shirt as opposed to a kleenex. Thankfully she seems to be feeling better today as we had to go to the bank and get groceries. Tonight we are supposed to be going to a bonfire for OH's nephew who is moving soon.

hmm andrews job sounds shockingly like mine... where does he work again??? I work in a hospital around sick people ...

Plumbing! haha. I didn't know he actually touched so much poo- then we went to my friend's house, to fix a pipe in her basement, and he had to put his arm in a pipe to pull out some debris (was wearing a glove).. I thought it was rusty watery stuff, but it was poo  MY FRIEND & HER BOYFRIEND'S POO

Yeah, I cancelled the reversal a few weeks ago. I got some money back, but not all of it. That's in our savings account for Property Tax and for emergencies, like groceries, if Mike doesn't find a job in the next few weeks. His last severance cheque is November 4.

I applied for a loan increase at the bank today, but I don't think I'm going to get it. If worse comes to worse, Mike has a credit line we may be able to temporarily dip in to.

I thought of Andrew yesterday when the plumber came to suck shit up out of some nasty ass sewer hole in my laundry room.

Luckily there was just HAIR down there. HAIR. BLARGH. SEWER HAIR.

We vaccinate.
Sometimes we get flu shots. Sometimes we don't. Not too worried.
