Cervical dilation and the purple line on natal cleft

I only just found out about this! Does anyone know if this is something experienced by all women? When does it appear, after 3, 4 or 5 cms? Any idea how accurate it is?

No idea but stalking for answers! There was a huge thread on it a few months back if I remember rightly but I didn't pay any attention as it was way early for that. I'll try and find it.

This article says that it is present in approximately 76% of women.

I personally will not be having any cervical examinations this time round. As the article explains, it serves no purpose at all. But that's just my personal choice. x

Thanks for the link that's fantastic. I'm really excited about this, i've been experiencing a lot of fake labour so if this applies to my case it will be very helpful!
