Cervix pain and labour

I tried asking this a couple of times in the third tri forum, but no one ever replies. Hoping I might have more luck here...

I'm a FTM, and I sometimes get a really horrible excruciatingly painful burn when baby puts pressure on my cervix. The burn is so bad it makes me cry and I have to sit down, I can barely take the pain.

I'm really concerned that this burning pain will happen all through labour, is that what happens? I'm petrified because I don't think I can take the pain, especially as what I'm feeling now isn't labour yet, and I cannot imagine how much worse it is going to get.

Can anyone tell me more about it in relation to labour/contractions etc?

Everyone is different hun so no one can really say! If you d o get the same pain in labour remember your contractions will be a few minutes apart, you are not in constant pain for hours. If you do get the same pain and cant stand it you can use the minutes to beg for an epidural
I had one for my first baby and honestly you dont feel any pain, I even had a nap lol.

No- I have that and it has nothing to do with labor. Labor pains feel like the worst charlie horse leg cramp you had in your life, but in your stomach.

I found it painful when my daughter kicked my cervix (when she was breech - is yours head down?). But I never had any pain in my cervix during labour. In fact, I definitely expected to feel something when my cervix was dilating, but I didn't feel anything down there (I had a completely natural birth, no pain relief other than a TENS machine). In fact, at one point I reached down and felt her head just inside and was like, whoa, how did that get there?! Everyone is different, but no, I don't think that's typical.

It's good to know that it won't necessarily be all through labour, phew!

To answer your question, yeah he is head down, so when he pushes it feels like a huge amount of pain and pressure on my cervix.
I had lots of BH contractions last night, and only sometimes felt the pain in my cervix, which was also a slight relief knowing that it wasn't every time.

I got occasional shooting pains in my cervix at the end of pregnancy. In labour pains started off as cramps at the front, low down under my bump and later on in labour were in the form of strong pressure in my back. The only pain I felt in my cervix was when I was being examined. Some women experience 'the ring of fire' during transition but it doesnt usually last long and it means yoj are close to pushing.
