Cheap present for 8 year old boy??

What can I get an 8 year old boy that is in the $5-10 range?? We have very little to spend right now and I haven't seen this kid in years and years but I always get him a gift because he's family. So any ideas??? He likes football (American) and I guess other sports.

Edit: It doesn't have to be sports related, I just have no idea what boys that are are interested in!
