Christmas Day out in London

A couple of weeks before Christmas me and DH and planning on taking DS1 out for the day to do some Christmassy things. We were thinking of going to Hyde park for the winter wonderland and then taking him to look at the Christmas lights and window displays.

That should fill the whole day right? Does anyone have any recommendations of other Christmassy things to do?

Also do anyone have any restaurants that are good for small children in that area that they would recommend?

I have not been before but we are going to visit Father Christmas at The Rainforest Cafe in London, the ticket is £30 for a child but this includes a 2 course meal. Adults have to order atleast 1 main course each. We can't wait to go
