Daisy used to do that too, I ended up buying a full size cot bumper I think that helped too!

Hiya girls,
How you all doing?

AG, Daisy did do the standing at the cot but I think as long as they can get themselves down safely then I would just leave him and he will probably settle himself down.

He doesnt know how to get down

:D Is it controlled crying you are doing? Do you go back in and sooth him, you could try laying him down everytime you go back in..... might take a bit longer though, but just till he can get down himself!

Yea its controlled crying, atm thats what we have been doing, just putting him down each time we check on him. He does eventually give up

How is it that I JUST found this thread!?!?! We're doing CIO with Charlotte and though she's gotten MUCH better tonight we're having one of 'those nights'. UGH...figures cause I have a HUGE exam tomorrow. I feel like an awful Mom letting her cry in there...

Hi girls. I'm starting cc with Katie tonight & I'm dreading it :-( At the mo she nurses to sleep, and stays asleep when I put her in her crib (if I'm lucky, often she wakes up & cries & I have to nurse her again). She also goes to bed at stupid o'clock, normally 10pm onwards. She is quite good at sleeping thru, if she does wake up it's normally only once.

She has a bath every night but the time varies & we don't have a very good routine going on. So I'm gonna start bathing her at the same time every night, massage her (in the hope it tires her out as the bath doesn't), feed her in her room (normally I bring her downstairs) & then put her in bed. I'm hoping that if it works we can use cc for naps too, as at the mo no matter what I do she will not nap, and ends up extremely overtired.

I'm gonna check on her every 5mins for the first 1/2hr then every 10 after that. Wish me luck!!

:hugs: Good luck hunny!
Just keep telling yourself that she is fine, she's clean, fed and not in pain.

It will make such a difference once you get her used to it :)
Let us know how you go x

Thanks hon. The only thing that worries me is soemtimes she just has the one booby feed after her bath & is asleep, other times she needs more. But I don't know if this is just comfort as she uses the boob to fall asleep. So I'm worried that she's gonna be crying cos she's still hungry. Although I guess I should be able to tell from her cry.

Was thinking of giving her milk before her tea (we're BLW), bath & massage after tea, another feed then bed. What do you think? :hugs:

yep thats sounds good, try that and see how you go.
You are probably right though, she will be using her last feed as comfort more than anything else :)

OMG this is horrible, she's crying her eyes out :-( I'm finding it hard to soothe her when I go in, I stroke her face, shush & sing to her but she still cries. Everytime I go in she's rolled onto her front too, and isn't great at getting back onto her back, so I think this is upsetting her too cos she's stuck!!

God knows what the neighbours think!

Well, I'm in shock. We started cc at 7.45, by 8.30 she was fast asleep  I'm so glad I didn't give in. She's asleep on her front tho which I'm a bit nervous about (and she's sideways on in her cot ) as she's always been a back sleeper, so I don't think I'm gonna be getting much sleep tonight!!

Alex sleeps on his front all the time, dont worry too much. Shes old enough and has good head control, she will turn her head to the side :hugs:

wooo well done!

Daisy is a front sleeper too, it's fine, they will move if they need to! :D

TJG Do you get any trouble with naps still?

Bedtime is wonderful and Alex goes down brilliantly, but naps are still a nightmare :dohh:

it did take us a while to get her to nap through the day with CIO, I just kept at it and eventually she was fine!

Has he got a blackout blind in his room? I think thats what helped us.

She now goes to her bed and gets in and goes straight to sleep in the afternoon now! :D

I do yea, we had started pulling it half down so the room wasn't as bright. So would I be better making the room totally dark?

I do for daisy, then turn on one of the lamps really low lighting, just like we do at bedtime :)

I shall give it a go tomorrow :D

I had noticed when were out, he wont sleep unless hes reclined and the hood is up.

Did you ever had trouble where to draw the line when it came to something like teething? ie if they were alseep but woke up, you had helped them as much as you could and trying to get them down to sleep again.

Well I feel like this has been too easy, I'm sure there must be worse to come. Katie woke at 5.20am, I fed her & put her back in her cot at 5.50. She was awake when I left but there was no crying & she was asleep within 10 mins, till 9.30!!!

Same again for her nap, I've just put her down wide awake & went for a shower. No crying & by time I was out of shower she was fast asleep!!

I thought that when we did it, it was easy for the first night. Sad to say by the 3rd that was our worst night but i hope it isnt the case for you :hugs:

Naptimes with us, put the blind down, and had a little resistence (he stands so we have to put him down ) but he was asleep after 10 mins.
