yeh its strange, I thought she would hate me in the morning but its the oppersite like she is more happier 2 see me. I think we always make a point of saying well done baby did u take a nap all by ur self and make a real fuss of her :)

:) Our Daisy is in her "big girl bed" now and I am pretty sure that it is because of this sleep training that she has taken to it so young and easily.

She is 16 months, and when I say "bedtime Daisy" she gives everyone a kiss and goes into her bed with her cuddle blanket and says "night night Mummy" and thats it! :)

wow, my sisters little one is the same, she said 2 him one josh are u gonna show ur antiue ur bedroom and then its bed time and he went, "can I go now please please" :wako:

That's so cute!

Aaliyah slept from 8:15-10.30pm fed then slept till 06.45 last night she was not up once :happydance: first time,

Ahh a great thread :) I think today has been a big one for me and we are starting to do more cc/cio, we are going to do wait 5 mins, then 10 then 15 etc...Naptimes have always been horrid and now bedtimes have gone out the window too lately, he used to sleep about 12 hours waking up once for a night feed now the last 2 weeks ive had an average of 4 hours sleep a night! This cannot go on.
I tried some cc/cio for this mornings nap and he had a 30min stretch of whiny crying, it breaks my heart but I hate it when he is all moody from lack of sleep.

Oh hope u manage to get him back on track hun :hugs:

aaliyah has a cold and is teething on top of that so we had a bit of a night mare early hours this morning she would not settle between 4:30 and 6.30. then she went down for an hour and was up. she has had this cold for past week now so I dont see it letting up either. I feel awful for letting her cry out when she is not 100%. gonna start again for nap times now. think I jinxed my self as said to EB yesterday we dont have any crying when she goes down now :dohh: well I was wrong :(

:hi: everyone!!

I did CC (Kiss to sleep method) with Jay when he was about 6 months old. Up until about a week ago he's been pretty good with his sleeping, the odd bad night with a cold, wind or teething.

Then about a week ago he seemed to be teething really bad, he went to sleep OK like normal but then woke at 3pm and he was literally beside himself  It took about 2 hours for him to go back off and this was after Calpol and Anbesol, cuddles and rocking (took me back to the early days!!).

Every night since he has been waking at some point between 11pm and 3am and is screaming his head off and taking about 2 hours to go back off :(

He still has a dummy at nightime but has one is in his mouth when I go in so it's not that, I've been giving him Calpol and Anbesol just in case it's teething, but I'm pretty sure he's just crying because he wants me to pick him up.

He's totally cottoned on to me doing CC and it seems to make him worse going in and out every few minutes and I think I'm actually keeping him awake for longer...

So tonight I'm going to be brave and try CIO properly. Like all of us here I absolutely hate to hear him so upset, but this can't go on, my DH and I are beyond knackered and so is Jay!!

Anyway, wish us luck :flower:

xx

Thanks AG

I'm just hoping Jay'll go back to sleeping well on his own, but if not, I know this is the only way. Luckily DH agrees so it's good I've got someone there to tell me to stay strong and not cave in.

Well I tried this last night...have dabbled a couple of times before, but have decided to be serious now! lol. Our sleeps have gotten so bad lately...he wouldn't sleep with me, by himself, would need to be put to sleep, rocked etc...and then would sleep for sometimes only 20 mins then cry again.
So last night he fell asleep during our routine...lol...and I put him down in his crib. Slept his usual 20 mins and then woke up crying. I left him for 5 mins, went him to tell him I love him and rub his tummy, then left. Went in once more 20 mins later and he fell asleep after about 40 mins. Then slept from 10 until 7:30....OH MY GOD!! It was amazing...although of course I struggled to sleep as I was just waiting for him to wake up...then when he didn't I was worried about why he wasn't waking up! lol.
He got up happy, then was exhausted again in an hour and I put him down for a nap this morning and he cried for about 3 minutes...and now he's been asleep for 1.5 hours! I'm determined to keep this up! So far so good!

Well, I had to put CIO to the test last night and have to say it worked out better than I thought!! Normally if Jay wakes up I go in pretty much straight away, to give him his dummy or wind him, but last night I left it five minutes after he started crying. Although Jay woke up a good 6 or 7 times, I only had to pop in twice to soothe him and the other times he went off himself within 5 minutes

So a far from perfect nights sleep, but much better than him screaming pretty much non-stop for two hours. Hopefully he'll wake less tonight though!!

xx

This is brilliant, I've only just "found" it (well only just seen Arcanegirls link in another topic)

We've been trying CC and it's soooo hard, I didn't realise how hard it was. Is this totally wrong?

6:30pm Bathtime
7pm Daddy home from work - cuddles
7:15pm Up to Mummy's room for "quiet time/cuddles" & a bottle
7:30-8pm Transfer to cot when drowsy if not asleep from bottle?

Should I not give her chance to get drowsy? Am I setting myself up for a fall by having the cuddles?

We do cuddles and bottle in Alexs bedroom, 90% of the time he falls asleep with it. Weve been doing this for as long as weve been doing CC and its not failed yet :)
