Could you (or do you) manage without a car?!

No! Public transport in the UK is rubbish (overpriced for something that is dirty and late!).
If it were better then maybe I'd consider using the car a little less; but it costs so much to tax, insure and MOT it may as get as much use as poss :D + LO is safe and warm in the car :D

We definitely could not manage without a car. Pretty soon Tegan will be getting her wheelchair and we have weekly appointments 30 miles away. The travelling was causing far more stress than the actual appointents themselves, plus the fact that Tegan could go from fine one minute to needing life saving brain surgery the next, yeah we need a car :) She is a ticking time bomb and it doesn't always happen fast - we try and catch her becoming ill before its THAT bad and therefore it feels like a waste of time using an ambulance but the taxi fare to the hospital is £40. Not happening.
PLUS - having a car that is taxed, MOT'ed and insured works out cheaper for us over a month than using public transport does. A lot cheaper.

I don't know anyone in our area who survives without a car if I'm honest. We were the only people on our street who didn't have a car until recently.

Running a car is only slightly more expensive for us than public transport! It's so unreliable and expensive where I live.

In fact, it might cost us more to use buses to and from the train station, as the buses don't link up with the trains, so we would be waiting around for ages at the station, incurring extra fees with the childminder. Rubbish!

A five minute bus journey costs £3.00 here.

When I lived in London I did not have a car and did not need one whatsoever.

Wow. It's 95p to go anywhere in my (admittedly little) town

I have a bit of a phobia of public transport so could not cope without a car! My work isn't within walking distance x
