This is the blanket iv made for Leo. Im still going to make it longer but now sure how much by. Its 75cm across and 38cm long. I think its wide enough as I wanted one he would easily wrap up in and be snug but Im not sure how much longer to make it. you have to be careful though, most patterns on ravelry say youre not allowed to sell things made from the patterns so if youre gna be opening a shop youre gna have to write your own patterns x

its surprisingly easy to write your own patterns though, especially with crochet, decided on a shape and increase and decrease to get that shape, its not too bad x

Oooh! Me! I love crochet! I've been doing it for a little over a year and I'm just loving it! I've started to teach myself knit now, but I still mainly stick with crochet. I just finished a HUGE blanket with guitar motifs for my cousin. I think I will pick up the baby blanket I started to make when I was last pregnant. When I lost that baby I put it away. Hopefully this one is sticky and I can finish it!

Hi all.

Im a crochet newbie and Im addicted in the space of 2 weeks. I was bored so bought a magazine that had crochet hook and 6 balls of wool with it. I found the mag hard to follow so went online and looked at YouTube tutorials and websites.

I crocheted this hate and scarf for baby when shes a bit bigger:

i love crocheting, i make all kinds of things, hats, blankets, cardigans, trousers, love it, so much easier than knitting, so much quicker, and so much easier to fix if you mess up x

The right yarn for your project and the correct size hook are all you need to begin. Check out Lion Brand yarns website. They have TONS of free projects and they tell you Exactly what kind of yarn and hook would be best for each one.

Have you ever crocheted before? A basic blanket should be pretty easy to start with - you can find directions for all the stitches (including videos) online. To be honest, I taught myself with the Klutz book about Crochet. It's meant for kids but it really breaks it down for you.

You'll get the hang of it quickly! I taught myself with that kids book in January '10. There's pretty much not anything I can't figure out now! LOVE it!
