'Dangerous' dogs

My dog (a Shiba Inu) is also a typical "nasty" dog with a bad reputation!

ohh how cute!!! the one on the right reminds me of my grans BM i was brought up with, wonderful natured doggy!! x

im terrified of dogs if i see a dog out its gate i wont go past it im almost sick with fear i was attacked by a neighbours jack russell age 14. however i totally agree its the owners that make the dog and yr dogs all look lovely xxx

I think it all depends on the dog/owner

if the dog has been rasied by the family correctly from a young age then the dogs are usually well natured ect
it's when people rescue dogs from shelters you never know what may set them off or what they've been through with there previous owner so they may seem fine but one day could just snap!

Saying that im terrified of dogs lol! big ones small ones any dogs im frightened! espeically big dogs off leads that bark at me eeek!
FOB had a staffie but he treat it bad and it was not a nice natured staffie at all! i was petrified of it but someone i know has a big dog not sure what kind think its a bulldog and im terrified of it but it's been trained soo well it's fine with the baby.

Im on your wavelengh and would ask people to take the dog out of the room as i dont feel comfortable at all even though LO loves doggies

omg the puppy pictures...im dyying!

(Is it weird that when I was pregnant and in a bad mood I would look at photos of puppies to cheer myself up? It always worked!)

awwww the puppy pics im fine with (sooo cute) but the thought of something that big being so close to me makes me want to die im so deadly scared to the point of having panick attacks when i've been encountered with a vicious looking dog off a lead

These kind of threads often upset me as i'm very passionate about these breeds and how misunderstood they are, I strongly believe it's the people behing the dogs not the dogs themselves.
It's great to see people sharing pics of their "dangerous" breeds and how loving they actually are in the right hands

Apologies for the pic overload

All considered to be dangerous breeds but I trust them completely , they have been trained properly and know there place. I am happy for Maddison to be around them (supervised of course) she absolutely adores them & nobody can make her laugh like these guys can (not even mummy  lol)

I have 2 dangerous dogs, really, they're liable to lick you to death . All I can say is if you bring them up right (no hitting etc, training classes are really good for socialisation and the like) you will have the most faithful companions anyone could ever ask for.

I love my 2 girls, they're amazing and the most gentlest dogs (but I am biased LOL) on this earth

Sky - German Shepherd, she doesn't bark at all. So soft and dopey, the complete opposite to the reputation GSDs have AND she's from a working line so you'd think she'd be more in your face

Luna - English Mastiff/Dogue de Bordeaux, she WAS dog aggressive from 10 weeks old and I didn't know what to do. With a lot of hard work she now plays with strange dogs quite happily. If she doesn't like a dog (as ALL dogs have dogs they don't like, even the sweetest ones) she'll growl and I walk the other way. She's brilliant with kids and is even more amazing with my disabled mother. How many dogs well over 100lbs can you say that about  I am VERY proud of this little girl

I'm gonna try not to get carried away as this topic really upsets me. I own two pit bulls, both females and actually both were trained in the army. I have not ONCE had any problems with them, they have never bitten anything or anyone. I can take food from they're mouth, now my 7 month old chihuahua is a different sorry, she will bit your head off. Dogs bite because their owners taught them not too, and I strongly stand beside this. Ontario banned pit bulls in 2005 and it was the STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard of, seeing as most of my friends golden retrievers bite me every time I try to pet them. Statistics show that "family dogs", labs, golden retrievers etc are more likely to bite a child. The dogs react because children yank on them by pulling their tails and ears.

Heres a story of my beautiful pit bull, when she was 2 years old my mother burnt her hand on cooking oil, Tiana watched my mother as she ran her hand under cold water. As my mother laid on the couch trying to calm down from the shock, Tia ran to her drinking water and dipped her tongue into it and ran to my mom to lick her hand, she did this for about an hour. So it's not so much the bred as it is the owner, if you don't discipline your animal it will get out of control.

Don't discredit this dogs, they are highly intelligent.

Thanks

I love that story. Pets can be amazing .

I am loving these gorgeous dog pics!

We love our two dogs (lab/staffie and lab/collie) but are sadly having to rehome them because we are planning to move to California after LO is born :-(. They will get more attention and be much better off so it's a good thing in our minds :flower:

Saying that, the lab/collie is more unpredictable than the lab/staffie. He was a rescue dog and is just a general grump :haha: The lab/staffie is a lover and puts up with SO SO SO much from my four year old niece (we stop anything if it gets out of control). It's amazing!

I agree that it's the owners that mold the behaviour and not the doggies' fault. Lovely pics, especially the puppies :cloud9:
