December 2017 Testers: Hopeful for Christmas and Year-end BFPs

I really need to be drinking more water. I always struggle to get a good intake. I've got my handy 32oz. water bottle and know I need to go through it at least twice a day, but I'm lucky to even get through it once most days. I need to stick with it! I'm sure dehydration isn't helping my conception efforts. :(

I squeeze some lemon or lime into my water - its really helped me to drink enough. Doubled my ewcm, so I highly recommend it :haha:

Yes, I always put lemon in mine, too! It helps keep me from getting bored with it. I know last time we were TTC, I was really vigilant about my water intake. Not drinking enough has been a more recent thing - just since I quit nursing DS - so I know I can do it! I think dehydration has been contributing to my weight gain, too, to be honest.

If you find drinking plenty bloats you out, try drinking it at room temperature. Slightly warmer water is easier absorbed than cold water. That's why people trying to lose weight will frequently drink ice water because it makes their body work harder to warm itself back up, using up more calories to do so. I find warm, or room temperature water much easier to drink more of

Just checking in, I've been off the air for the last week and haven't had time to catch up. I hope everyone is well.

I'm still just temping and charting for Ov, not TTC this cycle. I'm CD 15 today and should be Ov anytime now. Peein' on Ov sticks looking for that surge. Why is it that as soon as you start trying to predict things it all goes out of whack? I'm usually fairly regular and can usually pick Ov just based on feeling it so I'm not too concerned we just want to make sure we DTD at the start of the window next month so as to try and sway for girl.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

BOOM! Surprise early ovulation! I went off all of my supplements and O’d on the average CD14 :) who knew? Please put be down for testing on Dec 4th!

Keto diet? To do with ketones? Is that safe in pregnancy?

I use EPO. I used it in my previous cycle and have started it today for this cycle too. I found I wasn't making much ewcm so I increased water which helped and then started taking EPO which further helped. I noticed that my ewcm isn't always clear, it's frequently creamy/cloudy in colour but still the right consistency and I had more of it for longer which was good. Make sure you drink plenty too

Yes it’s safe during pregnancy. It’s a very clean eating diet. But instead of doing 20 net carbs a day I plan to up it so I can allow fruit back into the diet. So I may do 40 or 50g of carbs. But I haven’t thought much about it since I have no idea when I’ll get pregnant lol

I havent heard of the keto diet... but desperately do need to lose some weight! I am going to go google now!!

Good Morning/Afternoon/Night everyone!!!!

I'm currently on CD1, an new cycle with new possibilities. I have no idea why I'm suddenly so chirpy, maybe because we all have a chance at Christmas:bfp: Yay!!!

Mdscpa, can you please put me down for the 19th, I might be good again this cycle and not test until test day:shrug:who knows?

Good luck and :dust: to all. Here's to December BFP's:wine:

Yay :yipee: Will update the list in a bit. Hmmmm, you were also taking EPO last time, right? I'm still wondering whether it will make me ovulate later than usual. So far, I think it's messing up with my CM instead of making it better. I think I'm getting a reverse effect for it. :shrugg: :dohh:

I don't know about it, I think I have heard it mentioned before, ages ago. You could also do Slimming World, that's safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and is easy to do. It isn't a diet that restricts you, so that's why it works for so many because it doesn't feel like a diet

Trying to catch up since last night! Lots of posts!!

Is water consumption super helpful when ttc? my intake is pathetic these days since falling off the weightloss wagon!!

speaking of weightloss - I'm intending to join slimming world once I get my :bfp: as every pregnancy my weight spirals out of control (my self control SUCKS!)

Yes, water intake helps contribute to a good lining, it helps produce more fertile cm and is just generally good for your over all health. Try to drink at least 2L if possible, but if plain water is boring you then fruit teas are also good. I would stay away from squashes because of the added sugars and sweeteners.
Slimming World is fab, I loved it when I was a member and super safe in pregnancy and for the whole family, best part is it doesn't feel like dieting. I think it's quite genius

Yes that's what's drawing me towards Slimming World. I have a few friends that have done it and I've toyed with the idea for a while.. I can't seem to focus on losing weight and getting pregnant at the same time!! So hopefully once I am pregnant I can refocus on weight loss with slimming world help! I cannot face being consultant led due to my weight again and being made to feel like an awful mum! :nope:

They made you feel like that?!? That's awful! I wasn't overweight with my first but I put on loads with him and by the time I had him I was overweight. I was overweight with my second but lost weight with him because I went off most foods. Same with daughter but I was just within a 'normal' weight range when I got pregnant with her.
Slimming World is easy once you get your head around it, it is a lot of information to take in but it's actually super easy to follow and it really does help. I lost almost 4st with them and it was by far the easiest plan I have followed and the easiest time losing weight. You could start it now without worrying about having to lose weight, the weight just drops off easily. It's also a lot of fun with the groups, but if you're not into groups then they do it online too. I would say start now, even just buying a magazine and following some of the recipes to start with so you get a feel for it. It will only help in ttc

Yeah with DD was just under the BMI range for concern, so I fell between the cracks and gained 4 stone, then with DS I was already 17 stone when I got pregnant  only gained 1 and a bit stone during that pregnancy, but still...! I was consultant led and during the last 8-10 weeks I saw a male consultant who pretty much said "things WILL go wrong during labour, you WILL get gestational diabetes and you WILL need intervention during birth so we need to have this this and this in place." Turns out nothing went wrong, no issues during the pregnancy and a 1.5 hour labour, arriving at the hospital at 1.55am and having him at 2.01am! So even though it did go well, it made me feel soo uneasy the whole time that I was going to lose him because of my weight :nope:

Wow 4 stone that's great! Well done :)

Yes I'm quite keen on going to a group as I feel like the support will keep me going, where as online I won't feel answerable so will probably fall off the wagon :haha:

I'm sorry you had that awful experience. That consultant should be sacked! What a total arse! That's rubbish, yes you *could* have issues but not everyone would have any and you didn't. The only issue you had was a horrible consultant who made you feel anxious throughout the last couple of months of your pregnancy which was a completely stupid, ignorant and irresponsible thing to do to you.
I didn't have any problems because of my weight. I had preeclampsia with my first a few days before his due date but this could happen to anyone, overweight or otherwise.

Over time I ended up losing about 12st but this was because I stopped SW, had a load of problems and then ended up with an eating disorder, which I believe has caused the problems we are having keeping babies now, because I keep having chemicals. So if anyone wants to lose weight during pregnancy or whenever, slowly and steadily is the best way to do it, and making sure everything is as healthy as possible. I can't eat much now because I'm not used to it, but I try to make as much of my diet as nutritious as possible. Bread is gluten free and seeded, I choose butter over margarine, I eat loads of broccoli (or loads for me, anyway) and plain steamed rice, live yoghurts and nuts when I want them. My treat is ice cream because I like the fact it's obviously freezing cold. That's pretty much my diet, along with multivitamins, raspberry leaf tea (follicular phase only), ginger tea, EPO, and extra B vitamins

Yes that's all I wanted him to realise was it can happen to anyone. I understood the risk was higher because I was overweight but it was certainly not guaranteed. I'm hoping I can convince them (if I do get pregnant) That I''ve lost a lot of weight and if my body coped well when over weight in theory it will cope well again!

Oh wow - 12 stone! Sorry you keep getting chemicals and struggled with an eating disorder :hugs: Sounds like you've had a tough time.

Diet wise sounds great and very healthy :) I hope you get a sticky bean soon :hugs: :dust:

Yes I was taking EPO last month! I suspect that’s what was delaying O for me, although I stopped taking the prenatal and B6 too. All I’m taking now is a minimalist multivitamin with methylated folate and B12, fermented cod liver oil, and zinc at night. I felt like EPO did nothing for my CM too. I’ve also been bad about drinking enough water so it’s so hard to know what caused the problem. Lol Even though I O’d on time, I still didn’t see any EWCM :/ hopefully we still caught the egg. Only time will tell...I’m really going to try to relax this month. If it doesn’t happen, at least I have my doctors appointment on Dec 10th!

All fingers and toes crossed for you corgi.... Not going to stop taking EPO until O (if it will happen) and see what it does. But I really fear now that it affected my CM i was ok without it why oh why did I even give it a try. What's important is I O and hopefully not today nor tomorrow.
