hi :flower:,
I thought it would be good to have all the people who are going to try IUI this month at one place, to update and to share experience :hugs:. Though I dont have much hope for me but still I am going through anyway, probably we will move to IVF if this doesn't work (which i have already decided it wont for us, to keep myself away from hopes and pains).

If it works for me, it would be some kind of miracle and life would be a little easier without all those this that I might have to go through for IVF.

I pray and wish for a success for me and all others who are going through IUI (and ofcourse IVF) this month (and times to come).

lilly

Hello there!!

I will be doing our 6th (and last) IUI right after Christmas. FX for everyone!!!

Im taking Femera (same a clomid, just worked MUCH better for me) cycle days 3-7. Nothing wrong on my end. DH SA was just 'ok.' Low morphology.

I think we will be moving on to IVF if this doesnt work. I was so hopful! But after this many tries, I'm over it!
Hope to get a Christmas baby going!!! haha

Welcome ladies!:flower:
I am happy to find u both. hope we have our BFPs soon. I hope to be joined by many more.

@hollyw79: i don't know how many IUIs we should try, i basically assume only one, because even before pursuing this our doctor has told us that we might need IVF.

Same as u both, no problems apparently with me but my husband's count, morphology and motility are on the lower side and there's no reason why it is so (but his total sperm count is not very bad) so i guess that's why the doctor suggested trying one round of IUI.

I am on Gonal F (37.5 IUs per day), its my 9th day, missed one dose yesterday, and from past 3 days this is giving me bad headache. I have a short cycle which works like alarm clock (25-27 days from past 9 months). I will have 2 more injections and go for the second (scan + blood test) on Monday. First scan was today, i don't know how many follicles and how big.
So I guess I will go for the IUI just before Christmas.

A good development in me is I am no longer desperate and depressed for a baby the way i was some months back. I am quite better mentally, can take negative outcomes. I feel this state of peaceful mind is what we are all seeking in any case (if we have our BFPs we will be happy anyway). I have already tried for 3.5+ years for a baby, i will try my best for the same till its medically possible and advisable.

I'm sorry RayeAnne.. can I ask- what do you prefer about Femera?? I haven't heard of that one... just got prescription yesterday to start Clomid next week.

I was sent right to Femara. My Dr. said Clomid can produce way too many follicles that arent big enough. He thinks Femara is right for me since I ovulate on my own already. With Femara, I've had anywhere from 2-6 big follies each month! Since it didnt work by the 3rd month, I tried Clomid. I had like 9 follicles, all very small. That month was a bust. So I guess he was right!

Thanks! Me to haha!

I am taking the shots. The Gonal F. Im pretty new to this all too. All I know about is IUI's and the plan I'm pursuing! There are SO many different ways to do it! I see women on here get 2 IUI's a month, some have ultrasoudns at different times. It's quite confusing, it can drive you crazy!

Honestly though, I think it's a bit stupid that we have mild male factor fertility problems, but the women are the ones taking all the meds. really?! Have they yet to come up with something to boost a mans sperm count and what not?!

haha.

SERIOUSLY RayeAnne! Need to get some shots to get their soldiers in line!!!!

It IS confusing- and there is SO much conflicting information out there too- its unreal!

I agree! The medical field can do a full heart transplant, but no sperm booster? ok, whatever! haha.

It can, and WILL make your head spin. Trust me, I just stopped mine.

Don't dig too far in, you'll just stress yourself out. You need a calm, stress free body to carry a baby. If clomid doesnt work so well, suggest Femara. Other than that, with IUI's theres not a lot you can do. wait wait wait. good thing im very patient (not...) :flower:

Patience??!?!? Never heard of her!!!! lol

I understand what you mean about only trying to learn so much... I think my first day on this website actually made my head spin and really stressed me out. It made me SO sad to see so many women TTC and having difficulties. I seriously shed a few tears that night! It was *right* after I found out about DH's SA so it was a combination of factors.

Thanks for the suggestion on Femara... I'll pocket that one in the back of my mind! :)

i don't think the IUI will happen this month for us, the mid-wife told that i might ovulate during the weekend (when its closed for Christmas ). i am feeling :dohh::shrug: for getting the injections (and getting headaches). I could have been free this month without injections, scans, headaches etc.

I'm sorry Lilly :( :hugs: Will you try again???

I don't think conceiving naturally before ours worked either... I took a HPT this am @ 14 DPO and it's a BFN :( AF is due Wednesday BOOOO

I'm having and IUI tomorrow. I am taking injections as well. If this cycle doesn't result in pg I will be taking a 2 month break. Good Luck to everyone.

All the best FutureMommie! Wish you BFP and H & H pregnancy soon.

@hollyw79: I don't know if I would be trying for a second time, depends on what the doc suggests. Felt a little annoyed yesterday after the scan but I was prepared for such a thing, after all these things are not in our hands completely. What I feel strange is I have a short cycle and according to my calculation (based on some months of temping) Thursday is the day when my ovulation should occur in the worst case (it cant go beyond that), So why it would be different this time...or was that my temps were wrong and i was ovulating late and have a very short LP phase. Only Thursday's scan will answer.

Best of luck FutureMommie!!! I hope it works for you! :hugs:

lilly~ so basically if you ovulate on the weekend~ you're out of luck for this month?? :( I'll keep my FX'd that you do early... I know that was one thing I asked- I know Christmas is different.. but the doc said they would go into the office on a weekend if need be~ I just have to call them and let them know. My question is ~ I JUST started tracking this~ and going to be using OPK's... but if I get my Lh surge on a Friday night and going to ovulate over the weekend- it will be too late to call them! I have no way to predict a few days in advance when I will ovulate... any tips on that?? I have only one previous month to look at.

@hollyw79: What I understand from your text is that you are doing an IUI without any medication (?). I guess even in that case they would do a periodic scan every 3 days probably to check the growth of follicles and predict when you might be ovulating.

But having said that I have the feeling now that even after temping etc what is going to happen at any particular cycle is still hard to predict. I have temped for about 4 months, used OPKs for one cycle, have the cycle lengths which have always been as predicted (based on the temps), but my scanning reports till now speak different (have to see if anything different comes up on Thursday).

Hi girls, I'm going to join you since we will be doing IUI sometime soon.
I had lap surgery Thursday. I have been diagnosed with stage 3 endo. Two solid cysts in the right ovary, none in the left. Scarring that was removed and an emergency appendectomy while under. Oh, and various small cysts they found while in me. The hsg was clear. My right ovary was attached to my pelvis. They unattached it. My post op and consult for treatment is this Thursday. The doc told OH that he gives us three to six months of trying before he wants to do ivf. Which we can't afford.

@lilly~ I start Clomid on the 3rd day after AF starts. It's supposed to start tomorrow. The doc didn't mention anything about scans~ he basically said to use the OPK's and once I have my surge~ to have DH go to get his :spermy: washed~ we then bring that to his office and then he does the IUI. Its amazing how people have it done different ways. I guess you are right that even knowing your cycles~ it's always subject to change.

@labmommy~ welcome to the board. It sounds like you've been through quite a bit already. How long have you been TTC?? IVF is soooo expensive. I know we will maaaaaaaaaaybe get one paid attempt from insurance and that's it. And gosh knows I can't afford to pay for another either! Best of luck to you!
