December: Call for people trying IUI this month

Hi ladies - just a question to those ladies not on Clomid but on injectables - how soon did you ovulate that cycle? I have my CD10 scan tomorrow and am worried there won't be any follies...

So just wanted to see how early in the cycles others have ovulated?

Maria, are you doing a shot to stimulate O? I'm taking ovidrel and there is a window of when they expect ovulation after I give myself the injectable.

Labmommy - what's Ovidrel for? Is it tablets or injections? I at the moment inject Menopur to promote follicle growth. Once I develop some good mature follicles ill inject myslef with Pregnyl (a hcg shot). So I just wanted to see how early other ladies usually ovulate on injectables.

On Clomid I ovulated between cd16 and cd20 so I'm hoping the injectables will help me ovulate a bit earlier

I had my trigger shot on CD12 my follies were hella ripe by then. Ovidrel is the trigger shot its made of HCG and it causes your ovaries to ovulate.

@MariaF: I ovulated 2 days later to when I do usually without a trigger shot (Ovidrel) with gonal F. So I am assuming that people will have natural ovulation without any trigger after the follicles are fully ripe but probably
"trigger increases predictability in terms of time of ovulation?"

Can somebody with more info clarify the last point please!!!

with the trigger they have a more accurate idea of when you ovulate, this is important for timing iui properly

I had my first scan on CD10 and had one dominant follicle at 12mm. That was on friday. I gave myself another shot on Fri and have another one on Sunday. Then I have a follow up scan on Tue which will be CD14. I hope the follie grows by then and reaches about 17 -18mm so I get my trigger shot.

I've never heard about Ovidrel - I'm getting Pregnyl as my trigger shot.

I will also be cd12 on Tuesday and am going in for my follie scan. Hopefully I will be ready for an hcg shot (ovidrel) then. We are not doing IUI this month, but will try to time bd with the ovulation trigger and opk's. Hoping since my lap was just done last month this cycle I'm clean and ready to try on my own. I'm interested to see what the clomid did for my follicles. It was only 50mg, first cycle.Can't wait!

Hi ladies,

I just has IUI #2 TTC baby #2. I did 2 this time on 12/26 and 12/27. I'm going non-medicated since I have no known issues and we are using frozen donor sperm.

Thought it'd be fun to chat with some people during the 2ww!

I think if my current IUI doesn't take I will ask the doc about back-to-back IUIs to cover the 12-36 hour O window using OPKs.

Labmommy - good luck for your scan on tuesday

I took Clomid 50mg for 3 cycles and ovulated on 2 of them but it was late ovulation - like CD19-20. On 100mg I very nearly had ohss but did eventually ovulate on CD16 after being in sever pain for 2 days.

Hi Beau Geste. That's exactly why we did it. I guess washed sperm does not live longer than 24-36 hours and frozen washed sperm (which we are using) is less...12-24 hours. So, 2 IUIs to try to cover a bigger window!

What day are you on?

I'm 8 or 9 DPO now and trying not to obsess about the symptoms. I've been feeling bloated and a little crampy and have had a bloody nose twice since the IUIs (could it be related?). Trying to wait as long as possible before I test.

Next time I'll look into that. I'm 3dpo/dpIUI - I definitely O'd on my IUI day

Hopefully there won't be a next time, but.... meh.

Once I hit 8dpo, I will probably start testing w/ICs or dollar tree tests. I have zero patience!

No IUI yet but my OPK is sooo close to being positive.. I am thinking tomorrow it will be! Good thing because I am lacking in patience! Tomorrow will be cd15 which is when I ovulated last month! FX'd for tomorrow or Thursday!

urg...went to the re for my scan. It is cd 12, first cycle of clomid. He said it is not looking the way he wants it to. two follicles, both under 10mm and other very small ones. He says to do natural cycle now and get the clomid out of my system. I have 29-37 day cycles but he said my lining is also thin for him...6.1 mm so he thinks the clomid was a negative for me. Still call when I do opk and try to bd. If no af by 2/6 I must call to come in for an ovulation test and whatever else! Next cycle- injectables! Follistim, 300 unit cartridge. $279 at the least expensive!!! yikes. Ovidrel is already in my fridge, ready for next month since we are no longer on the RE's watch til then. Doc said no need for prometrium this cycle anymore but nurse said to do it anyway because it could be good?! What to do...

Hey ladies how is everyone doing? I am 14 dpiui and going to my RE later today to get a blood refferal if AF doesnt show up by then. Not many symptoms but thinking about it when i had the HCG shot i didnt have any side effects from that either so who knows

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to give you an update- sadly, our first IUI didn't work out. Everything looked great- according the doctor, my lining was 'perfect', my DH's sperm was totally normal and I produced 4 follicles, 2 of which were over 18 mm. So needless to say, it was gutting to get a call from the doctor's office say that my blood test was negative.

I'm feeling so down about the 'unexplained' aspect of our infertility. I feel like I'm fumbling around in the dark- I just want to know what the problem is!

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I really hope that you all get your BFPs this month- thinking positive thoughts for all of you!!
