DECEMBER MAMA'S! What's your name? When's your scan!?

Hi ladies,

Scan today was a bit confusing but I left feeling hopeful. Saw the gestational sac and a fetal shadow, both measuring 6+0 weeks. Couldn't see a yolk sac, but the baby could be hiding it still. Also saw what looked like a heartbeat to me but the sonographer would only call it "cardio activity" and not a heartbeat. It measured 134bpm.

The doctor was much more optimistic. He said that we are seeing progression at every scan and that is good, so to have hope. He also said he understands that two weeks of waiting is an eternity for me so he will see me again next week. So mark me down for my next date: May 3!

Well 6 weeks is still early for a full on heart beat seeing cardiac activity is great!! Strange that you couldn't see the yolk sac but you could see the heart?! Any ways I'm sure all is well! I have my next U/S May 3rd as well!! @7+5!!

Hi Ladies, Im Prego with my first. Been TTC for over 1 year and finally happened!! We are due on Dec 4th. Im a little over 8 weeks now and have had CRAZY MS.... although... Morning is the wrong word.. hehehe I've been naucious ALL day long..... Hoping it stops soon. Have an appt. on May 25th where I will get to hear the HB and my scan is scheduled for July 10 where I will find out the sex (Please be a girl!!!! but as long as its health is what really counts!)

Congratulations! Poor you though. I empathise as had terrible MS with my first 2. Pregnant with #3 now, very early days so not sick yet. Dreading it though! When did it kick in for you? I think from memory it was around 5-6 wks with second, can't remember first.

I'm hoping for a girl too, but same as you, just want a healthy happy baby so really not too fussed

My morning sickness has been awful too...All day, mostly every day. Im now 7 weeks pregnant with my first child. My morning sickness kicked in at like 5 weeks, but luckily i have an awesome doctor who gave me zofran which most of the time is like a miracle....i work 12 hour shifts in a Emergency room and dont know what i would do without the zofran and supportive coworkers. I want a girl and my husband wants a boy- but both of us would be happy with either. We go back to the doctor on May 17th, and our doctor said we should be able to hear the heartbeat then (we saw it last week).

Hello everyone! My name is Kimberly and I am currently 5 weeks pregnant. I had a MMC in early December so I am very nervous right now. My doctor is going to see me next Thursday at 5+6 weeks for my first ultrasound. I really hope everything turns out ok.

Bit late joining in but HIYA!!!

I'm 9+1 with my second baby, had first part of booking in at 6 weeks, got bloods etc this thursday. Got my consultant appt on 29th May ( because I had c-section with first baby) and no scan date yet but think I will get that after thursday appt.

So excited, still doesn't feel real, despite already having a 'bump' that is increasingly difficult to hide!

Had an emergency scan (severe and intense left sided pain, they thought possible ectopic, luckily it wasn't!!) at 7+3 and was measuring spot on, and confirmed just one baby despite them thinking there were 2 for a while (heart attack!!).

Soooo much sickier this time and it's sooooo much harder being pregnant with a little one around!!

welcome! Sounds like uv had an eventful few weeks already! I am looking forward to being a few more wks on, think I'll be able to relax a bit at that stage (as it is checking things in the toilet every 5 mins). I know what u mean bout the 2nd pg, the first is grt u lie down when u want and r totally spoiled, no such luck with a smallie around. I am on my 3rd this (pls God) time with a 4 and 2 yr old also looking for my attention so def no rest. Having said that hubbie taking kids to mum in laws today, i was suppose to be working but now truly have a day of in every sense, so sleep n relaxation it is....heaven

Hi Buster23 I think I'm due around exact same time as you. Today I should be 4 wks 6 days. I'm looking forward to being a few more weeks ahead too. Got 2 already and yeah pretty tiring.

Just a question to anyone really... Dr didn't do any blood tests and no scan booked for 5-6 weeks. The next time I see anyone is when I'm 8 wks. Is this normal in UK? I moved here from Oz when my youngest was 7 months so not used to what they do over here. In last pregnancy I had scan at 5 wks. Just a bit confused!

Not in UK so can only speak of how its done in irl but i believe pretty similar. Havent gone to gp yet bu going on last time, all she did was some paperwork to get me in system for the hospital. I didnt get an app then until i was 12 wks and this came thru the post directly from hosp. For my first pg i went private and even tho i have private health ins, there is an extra cost of bout 3.5k for the consultant and luckily the hosp i attend is the centre of excellence in the area for maternity so honestly there was v little in the care between public n private

Thanks for that. It seems quite different here. Haven't heard great things about the hospital near us either which is a bit concerning. We've got private health with my DH's work but I'm pretty sure it doesn't cover maternity unfortunately. Oh well, I'm sure it'll all be fine. I'll just kick up a stink if I feel I'm not being looked after properly. Stamp my feet! Lol

Hi ladies!

I'm nervously joining in and hoping not to jinx anything!

My name is Dee, I'm a first timer, 6 weeks tomorrow! Due 24th Dec, and very impressed with bubs' timing

I had a scan at 5wk3d due to 10 days' worth of spotting/bleeding/cramping, and everything looked OK for dates, so fingers cautiously crossed. 12 week scan not booked yet, waiting to be given a date.

congrats on your little sweet pea! i had an another early scan today due to worries abt cramping and back pain and everything looked great we could see everything perfectly and our little bubba was actually moving and its little heart was beating away its such an emotional moment i feel so blessed! it will fly to your seeing your little sweetpea on screen good luck for ur scan!
