***December Snowflakes 2012 Parenting***

IST - sorry you had to go through that!

It's been quite a day for us. I went to my OB appointment and she did a transvaginal ultrasound and found 2 things that looked like cysts but no baby. She said it looked like a blighted ovum and gave me a prescription to induce the miscarriage. She told me to wait to fill it because she wants me to have 1 more blood draw and sent me to a radiologist who specializes in women's health because their machine might be better. I got a same day appointment and drove straight there and they found a baby with a heartbeat!! The baby is measuring 5 W 5 days which makes no sense because I found out I was pregnant on August 20th (3 weeks ago) and that would put my HCG for 4 weeks at 8500 which is very high. They found more fluid that they are calling a "collection of blood" but I'm wondering if it may have been a twin (that would explain the high hcg and early positive on the test).

Sigh I'm so happy to hear they found a baby! That is a very early positive though, maybe you're right about the twin. Great how thorough you're doctor was.

great news, sigh! how scary that you were so close to inducing miscarriage with a little bean hiding inside! Glad everything is ok, and hope it continues to go well! Is there anything to do about the extra fluid? Or just leave it there?

Ocean, nice to see you again! Oliver is a handsome boy! Funny, Lolly was asking you about why SALT so early, and i naively assumed it was because he was eating fries which probably have salt, and thinking wow, that was a pretty bold statement, can't keep kids away from salt completely, lol. Assuming that probably stands for speech and language therapy? Glad it seems to be helping!

Gabby has whispy fine hair too (see pic, still no haircut!), bean, and as a result still looks more like a baby than a toddler. I'm noticing so much growth in her speech and actions over the last month tho. she knows a ton of colors, can sorta count to 6 (although she skips 2 and 4...), and she skips, runs, sings, and will say phrases. out of nowhere the other day she said 'no more monkeys jumping on the bed'. lol. her new daycare is great for her development too, as she is with kids who are 3, and kids who are her age. They do all sorts of fun activities and have classes in sign language, spanish, yoga, and gym. She seems so much happier after going to this place than the last place. Makes me very happy to see her so happy.

Hope everyone's pregnancy is going well. I am going to start NTNP in a week, after i finish my last week of BCP. yikes!

That's awesome sigh. I hope everything works out! Perhaps you are right and you found out so early because you did have twins in there and hcg was higher with two!? Best of luck to you!

I'm about 5 or 6 dpo, I think but not expecting anything. Just have to keep trying!

Cait is still sitting on the potty regularly. Not using it, but sitting longer, more often and staying a bit dryer. I'm wondering if she's learning to hold it? SHe's got a huge vocabulary but often speaks really quickly and doesn't always annunciate but I know what she means. I love that she is using please, thank you, and excuse me on a regular basis. She is such a lady. :haha: She also counts but not always in order. And she recognizes a few shapes and colors. She loves to sing and dance. It's so funny how easily the pick things up! We're doing great! I can't believe she is going to be 2 in 3 months! I remember her birth like yesterday! Now to add one more and complete our family!

I hope everyone is well

Thanks ladies. They said the blood will either bleed out or be reabsorbed by my uterus. Actually, The dr only sent me for additional testing because I asked her if there is anything else they can do. Imagine if I hadn't asked and took the meds :( It scares me to think how many people are misdiagnosed just take the meds so they can get it over with and start trying again.

Haha Chloe, I had the same assumption about the salt! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one!

We have finally moved Amber back into her own room and into a big girl bed. Its going well except the still isn't sleeping as well as she used to. I'm trying very hard to be patient and reminding myself that she is capable, she just needs to feel safe again. We still haven't bought a potty yet. But when she doesn't want to put a nappy on I tease her and say 'then you have to weewee in the big toilet'. She gets quite upset at the idea! I'm hoping when we get round to buying a potty she'll be willing to actually sit on it!
I'm hoping to have her sleeping properly in her room, no dummy and started potty training before the new baby arrives. I'm a getting a bit stressed about it all! But I'm trying to just take it one thing at a time!

I got a very faint positive today, very early. Hoping this one sticks and that Cait will be having a sibling come late May 2015. So nervous.

Cait is still doing great.

I hope you're all well.

Good luck with moving Amber, bean.:hugs:

So E has started screaming her head off at bedtime. DH or I poke our head in and ask her if she's ok and she says "Yes and goodnight" and the minute we leave the room she starts screaming again. We have to keep going in or talk to her through the monitor before she stops and falls asleep. What makes things worse is that she tried to put her leg over the railing this week so we're going to have to move her to a toddler bed. The thought of it is freaking me out! Anyone else going through this? Have you guys moved your LOs out of the crib yet?

She also wants nothing to do with the potty for the last 2 weeks, after an awesome week of using it multiple times a day. I'm thinking I need to get her some sort of potty themed book to get her interested in it again so if anyone has any recommendations, let me know!

Yes we've moved Amber into a toddler bed. We didn't have much choice as she just would not go back into her crib and was sleeping in our bed. We have to lie in the room with her til she goes to sleep otherwise she just cries for hours. But I know the reason for that is because she is unsettled from all the travelling and moving. I'm really hoping she settles soon because this night waking and stuff is driving me mad!
I would suggest moving her over to a toddler bed.
Sorry I can't help with the potty thing cos we haven't even started with that yet!

IST - congrats! Hope it's a sticky one!

Sigh - Camden has been screaming her head off at bedtime the past few days also, no idea why. She will be fine when I put her in her crib, she'll say "love you" and "bye mama", but then as soon as I close the door she flips out. It's so weird. No suggestions, but I feel your pain there! As far as her putting her leg over the crib rail, can you remove the bottom springs from under the matress and put it flat on the floor? That should give you several more inches and would potentially postpone the need for a toddler bed if you're not ready to take that step yet. As far as potty training, we went cold turkey, no diapers at all for the first week or so. I think that helped quite a bit with our success. I have since gone back to using diapers at naptime and overnight because she just can't hold it that long, but when she's awake it's strictly no diapers. Might be worth a try!

Congrats, IST, hope its a sticky bean!

Sorry about the screaming, Sigh. We have not yet transitioned out of the crib. I have no real motivation to, except for DH thinks it should happen soon. But i'm in no rush. We have also let morning potty time fall by the wayside. I was hoping Gabby would just start asking for it, but she doesn't seem to care anymore.

OMG what happened to my sweet cuddly baby?!?!?! She is starting to test limits more and more and doesn't listen to me anymore. I end up having to put her in time out which makes her cry and breaks my heart because I'm such a softie. I'm supposed to limit all non essential activity because of some blood in my uterus (SCH) and all she ends up doing is whining for me to pick her up when she isn't destroying the house. Waaaaaahhhhh I miss my lil bright eyes who loved to do what mommy says lol.

On a brighter note though, today she told me, "Mommy and Ey-ye (Ellie) are besh fends (best friends)." and then gave me a kiss :) That made me all better lol.

Sigh I'm there with you! I keep thinking 'am I really going to do this again?!'
Hopefully it won't last for too long!

On a cute note Amber has learnt 'please' and how it helps with getting things. She likes to share my breakfast with me so now she comes and says 'more please' and it's just so cute I can't say no! The other day she walked into the kitchen and shouted 'tea please'.

Cait definitely has her moments where she is just so difficult but I think it's just frustration and testing boundaries. It's not easy when I'm nauseated and I have to deal with it but we're getting along. She if getting so big and smart though, so independent, that I am definitely ready for a cuddly newborn.

Huge congrats IST!! And I'm so happy to hear everything was ok Sigh :hugs: could definitely have been a twin loss :(

Millie has been in her big girl bed (a full single, skipped the toddler bed this time as we had an awful time with DD1 in one after she slept perfectly in a cot ) for a month or so now and she's been fantastic in it. Sleeping better than before actually! She's also using the potty now too but strictly only for number 1's! She has no interest of pooping in there at all! I'm confident she'll have it fully mastered by the time baby no3 is here though so I'm not stressing over it.

Not much more to update on! Everything here is great, and I'm nearing third tri. Can't quite believe it!

Hi ladies. I can't believe all our babies are about to turn two. My Ella will be 3in 6 weeks. Ella and aAngel are about the same in there speech. Both saying short sentences. No potty training for us yet. It was just too overwhelming with two. Ella should start preschool in December and they will potty train her. And I'm going to potty train Angel when. She starts school.congrats to all the pregnant mommas I would love another and am super broody but I just can't have one right now.

Are any of you still breastfeeding and do you have any tips on weaning
