Hi Mrs. Truth! Do you want pros and cons for IUI or Femara?
IUI... only con really would be the cost, but it is better by far in terms of cost than IVF. You can have some cramping during the procedure but not bad at all. Pros is that it allows the sperm to be inserted higher in the reproductive tract, allowing it to bypass some of the biggest obstacles in its journey.
Femara... Pros is that it supposedly has less side effects than Clomid. I haven't really experienced any side effects with either med though. Femara is a med that is traditionally used to treat some type of cancer (breast cancer, I believe) so your insurance may cover it better than other fertility meds. I don't know of any cons other than that it didn't produce a BFP for me.
Good luck in your TTC journey!

How many iui's have you had? Far as Clomids I still have three prescriptions with my pharmacy I think I might go ahead and get them. But I didn't like Clomids and plus I never received a BFP either. This has been one frustrating journey. I am just hoping for some results because I do not want to go back to IVF

I've done two IUIs so far, both while on Clomid. Still in the two week wait for this last one. (Praying hard!)
How many cycles did you do with Clomid before switching to Femara? How many IVF cycles did you do, and what made you switch back to IUIs?
Hey ladies! How is everyone doing? I've been out of town for the last few days. Sorry for going all MIA!
DH and I went out of town for our anniversary and I managed to convince him that we should leave computers at home and cell phones on airplane mode (camera use only), so I have been away. We had a lovely trip- stayed at a cute little B&B down in Colorado Springs. The night before our anniversary, DH surprised me with three new children's books. (I really enjoy children's story books and have a decent collection.) We had a wonderful dinner at Melting Pot on New Years Eve. Then yesterday, after an entire day of laying around in bed just talking and cuddling, DH took me shopping for a new outfit and then took me to a really gorgeous restaurant at a historical hotel/country club called The Broadmoor for our anniversary dinner. It was absolutely wonderful and presented me with a beautiful opal accented bracelet at the end of the meal. (Swooooooon.) Can't seem to stop telling him how wonderful it all was.
Today I am 4 dpo, 6 days past trigger, and really just hoping that BD'ing worked this month. DH and I are still happy with our decision to forgo the IUI for a couple months, so I'm hoping it pans out. I've been taking cheapie pregnancy tests since the trigger shot to see when it clears my system and my test today barely had a second line, so I think it should be cleared out by tomorrow. We definitely BD'd enough this month, and with two eggies I'm hoping that we caught at least one!

TWINKLES80- Glad to hear your temps are staying up! How are you feeling today?
Mrstruth- How are you doing today, hunny? Any news?
Cindylou777- You are one day ahead of me! I'm 6dpo and 8dp-trigger today. I've been taking a cheapie pregnancy tests every day so I know when the hCG has left my system. The second line was barely visible last night, so I'm thinking it should be cleared out soon. I'm a bit of a POS junkie.
Hi Ladies! Good luck to everyone still in the tww.
Sprinkles, your anniversary trip sounds like it was amazing! Glad you had a great time, and what a good distraction from TTC!
AFM: I'm out this cycle. Today starts a new cycle. Going to the doc on Monday to have another ultrasound. I don't think I've ever had two back to back treatment cycles though because of my frequent cysts. Praying there are no cysts this time!
I am sorry, Prayerful. I too hope you don't have any cysts this cycle and you can jump right into another round. I will keep you in my thought!
Thanks sprinkles for the words of encouragement. I think it may actually be me catching a cold. Still not feeling well. but more like flu ish super tired symptoms now. Anywho.. Have a great weekend and fx to you!!
Prayerful- sorry for the cysts honey. Hopefully there won't be cysts this time!!
TWINKLES80- OMG- did you get your BFP????? Your signature sure looks like it! Wooohoooooo!!!! I'm so happy for you hunny! Go sticky bean, go!!! Hey! Send some of that baby dust my way!!!
Oh no hunny- Don't feel bad about announcing here! I am so glad that you are not having to do Clomid/IUI. That is wonderful and I am super happy for you! And don't disappear on us now that you got your BFP! Keep bringing that sticky bean baby dust around to us. Plus, I'd love to hear how your pregnancy goes.
I quit my work when I was diagnosed with infertility, but before that I worked as a doula and child birth educator. (See how that might not be the best job for an infertile lady- haha!) I may not be talking much to pregnant women I don't know anymore, but I love to hear how pregnancy goes for the women I care about!
A H&H9M to you twinkles!!! Don't be a stranger!
