Do most women poo when pushing?

I was like that at the beginning of the relationship. Then the first time I got pregnant with DH I had terrible gas and one just let loose. I started to cry I was so embarrassed. He started laughing and then complimented me on the sound but said I needed to work on the length of time. lol It has been like that ever since. And neither of us have any problem using the bathroom in front of the other. To us it is just a normal part of life.

Lol I didn't poo while pushing but I was quite scared at one point that I was going to, as that's what it felt like! To be honest I did go to the toilet quite a lot in the early stages of labour  so I think a lot of times your body clears you out ready. I wouldn't worry though, no one is going to mind if it does happen :flower: x

i didnt have a epidural but i couldnt really feel my pushing and was pushing for about 30 mins and i did not poo myself either.

i was really worried about doing a poo infront of my oh, i cant even wee infront of him lol but thankfuly my body cleared itself out before hand

This thread has given me a very good laugh tonight! I think that was my number one fear of the birth process... bring on the pain and the body splitting, but God forbid there be any pooing  The official word is that nothing happened with baby #1, although I may have been lied to, I don't know.

Anyway, I am once again, worried about this same problem so I had a good laugh reading through. I have been with dh for over 9 years and neither of us freely pass gas in front of each other. So, of course, to poo would be horrible. Only time will tell and for now I will just worry :haha:

I think its crazy theres so many ladies on here that are so self concious! no offence meant, i am obviously just a huuuuge ladette! I dont care if i fart or burp infront of OH and he doesn't either. Do any of you actually think your OHs will care if you do?! Okay pooping infornt of him is kinda different but so what? If i do i do, he's not gna care as long as his daughter is born without too much trouble! To be honest he'll probs be sitting in a corner hyperventilating throughout the whole labour process oblivious to everyhting..xx

i'm terrified of this!
i told my hubby that i didn't want to know if i poo

I hadn't gone for 4 days before having my son so I was afraid it might happen when I was pushing, and it didn't. Then I had 16 stitchesand *daren't* go for another 5 days after that :( lol

this has been one of my biggest fears for giving birth lol :haha: not everyone is the same I guess, for me there are certain things that you just don't cross in a relationship, having a poo is one of them

but I'm not too worried about it now, oh has been made to swear that I will not be notified of anything nasty that happens in labour, if I'm not aware I don't want to be made aware :haha: I'm too exited to meet my son to worry about what I'll do in labour :flower:
