duchess of cambridge is pregnant [merged]

I love the royal family. But i won't start that debate.
I hope this raises awareness of hyperemesis.

xx

I wrote a big ranty blog entry about it, how sick i was of people saying "oh normal people just deal with it" :haha:

Silly q and slightly OT but will we get new money when we William/Charles is King? Xx

I think so brought in gradually as it would cost loads to replace it all x

Wow some people....

Im happy for them. :)

Anyone see her on tv tonight? She was side on at one point and you could definitely see a little pot belly. She looked bored on stage though - or feeling sick lol xx

Yeah I couldn't believe she was presenting those awards! I've never known of Hyperemesis to go away that quickly. Even if you do recover from it during your pregnancy, the few weeks after being unwell in hospital you are not able to do much due to being really weak and still nauseous. Who knows maybe they have discovered a miracle cure for her ;-) I wish they'd send some of it my way and to the other ladies on the Hyperemesis Sufferers Unite forum. Either way I hope she is over it. It's nice to see her looking so well x

Whats so wrong with marrying someone and being a housewife lol she cant have a nanny and work as will be slammed for it and it seems she cant be a SAHM without being slammed too LOL.

Because im telling you now- she won't be a "SAHM".

She will get booked in for a C Section, close down the hospital for days and then walk out two days afterwards to some event while the baby is left at home with a nanny.

Come on...reality check time!

Do you know these people personally? Kate's medical history? Her views on childbirth? Breastfeeding?
Yea probably not!

She probably will have a nanny and so what? It's not like she can just drop baby of eith granny or uncle harry for a few hours is it.

And anyway I doubt this baby will spend much time away from her even when she is working because the nanny will be with them. It's funny that people don't seem to have issue with normal childcare 40 hours a week but a rich person has q nanny and its wrong.

Seems like jealousy to me.

I was shocked too. It's great that they have obviously found medication that works for her. I guess if it gets treated properly from the very start you don't get so weak so recovery is quicker.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. Many women are ignored for a long time, doctors telling them to basically put up and shut up because it is 'just' morning sickness and thats a part of pregnancy, until the get really ill and weak. Whereas Kate's concerns were probably taken seriously from the beginning and therefore they got her on meds etc before it had a chance to make her really weak.

Also she could have not eaten much in preperation, dosed up and then went on. The thought of vomiting on tv probably kept it in for a bit, could have had a man with a sick bag waiting for her in the wings.

And didnt clarence house say she would only be there for about 45mins, and not the whole night?

Plus i think when you are prepped on things and really need to do the work, its amazing how you can hold things in for an hour or so. Not long term but briefly, say if you are going to a meeting etc in work.

Im actually really offended by your posts. I work as a nanny. I look after 2 wonderful children which i adore. Both of my employers work full time and have a nanny as its the same cost as 2 in full time nursery in London. Both of my employers are very HANDS ON when they come home. They change dirty nappies, cook, play with their children, read them stories etc. I dont know any nanny who is not emotionally attached to the children they care for. You are making it out to be that we are cold robots who take on the role as the parents of the children are too lazy to do it themselves, this is not the case.

Listen- many of you on here and obviously incredibly dim. I'm not suggesting that at all- I've had nannies myself.

What I am saying is that it is laughable that people think Kate is going to get off her podium to play mummy. Bullshit.

She didn't marry him to do that- she did it for the fame and the money. Really- why else would she. Hardly attractive is he?!

I am not dim, but I would rather be dim than rude, like you.

So by having Nannies is that because you didnt want to get off your podium and play Mummy? No, it is childcare that you felt happy with, the same as any other person that uses a Nanny, the same as Kate and William.

When did Kate tell you that she married him for the fame and money? I mean you wouldnt be making assumptions based on no facts would you, as doing that would be pretty dim?

He might not be attractive to you, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Plus many women were lusting after him when he was younger (IMO age has not improved him). I mean so many women lust over brad Pitt, George Clooney and all I can think is yuck. BUT lets just say not everyone decides who to marry on their looks or their money. Thankfully.

WOW.. I am not from the UK, I am from the states. I was just curious how in God's name do you know why Kate married him???????? UMM maybe she loves him, and also Kate does not seem the type to me that she puts herself on a podium . Are you privy to this info to make such judgments on people?
Just WOW
