duchess of cambridge is pregnant [merged]

I heard they have no help in their home in wales because she likes to keep the home... so her bringing up their child I can see it very much.

Does Kate have a Job? i know this past year been full of royal functions...but like wills is a helicopter pilot does she do anything?

i think she will make a brill mummy.

I don't know I've often wondered that myself though. I suppose when she got engaged to William it wouldn't have been appropriate for her to have a job working too closely with other members of the public, for privacy reasons and also security reasons. She does seem to do a lot of touring and charity work though...

No, she just undertakes royal functions and runs the home.

I dont know why people have an issue with that, there are a lot of everyday women who would like to spend there first year of marriage playing housewife but cant afford it. She still undertakes royal functions (so isnt taking taxpayers money for nothing) but lets be honest - if that was you (as in a general you) would you like to be thrown in at the deep end with loads of things?

I think after Diana they are (rightly) making sure she is comfortable with her role. William has been groomed for this, she hasn't. And i dont believe that mummy middleton planned all this. Even if she did, you can hardly make someone fall in love with someone else - I am quite sure William has a mind of his own.

I think they will make good parents and will be very hands on, as will Kate's parents.

And actually, the royal family doesnt just take money from the tax payer.....The Sovereign Grant is designed to be a more permanent arrangement than the old Civil List system, which was reign-specific. Funding for the Sovereign Grant comes from a percentage of the profits of the Crown Estate revenue (initially set at 15%).

They have their Duchy lands, that they make money off of renting out etc.............so really they are like any wealthy family with land.

Either way, I think she will want to be more Mummy than she may be allowed to be. It may be that she is reguired to do X Y Z that will mean yes, she might need a nanny. But how is that any different from say any other successful woman in a high flying career?

Completely. I must admit, I am a huge royal fan, so think that what they do get from the state is worth it. They do a lot of good for the country.

And yes, its no different to all these celebrities who have tons of nannies to help them (with most claiming they don't!).

I don't think that they are really any different from other couples with money. Yes they will have a nanny but they are bound to need one as they have so many things that they have to attend etc. But i think that she will be as hands on as she is able to be. Why, just because she's a royal, does that mean that she won't want to be hands on.

Regardless- I find it hard to believe she has married him to play mummy. It simply doesn't make sense to me. Maybe its just me though. I guess time will tell!

It doesn't make sense that she has fallen in love with him and married him and now wants children with the man she loves like millions of other couples do all over the world?

You're right! That is weird! :haha:

Yeah...right. She was drawn to him out of love and attraction.

Yeah...right. She was drawn to him out of love and attraction.

Blimey cynical. Why wasnt she drawn to him for those reasons? They were friends before anything else, housemates even.

They have been friends for years. You can tell by looking at them together they are in love.

Whats so wrong with marrying someone and being a housewife lol she cant have a nanny and work as will be slammed for it and it seems she cant be a SAHM without being slammed too LOL.

Because im telling you now- she won't be a "SAHM".

She will get booked in for a C Section, close down the hospital for days and then walk out two days afterwards to some event while the baby is left at home with a nanny.

Come on...reality check time!

Urgh you are so ridiculously judgemental. I don't think your in a position to tell us anything tbh. You don't have a clue what you are talking about, unless of course you've heard this first hand from Kate herself.

Quite clearly you have some sort of issue with Kate. Perhaps the wrong thread for you seeing as all you've done is throw about negative comments about her feelings for William being false, how she's on a soapbox and will never be a hands on mum.

I don't think anyone needs a reality check. I think you need to chill out.

No, this is your opinion, so dont spout it as fact. You think this is how it might happen but you dont know that. The rest of are going to wait and reserve judgement, that doesnt mean we need a reality check, it just means we arent as rude to make assumptions based on someone's title.

She married into the royal family knowing that she would be expected to attend functions and things like that, who cares if she leaves the baby with a nanny sometimes, it's not like she is dumping it so she can go out on the lash. She can still be a wonderful, loving mother and carry on with her royal duties.

Kate and William obviously love one another and are over the moon about their new addition, people all over the world are thrilled for them and this baby will be our future king or queen. He/she will be born into a loving family, with the most privileged upbringing imaginable, isn't that more important than if Kate and William will use no nanny, 1 nanny or an army of them?

Seriously! Poor lady, it's a no-win situation for her. Except for the being happily married and expecting her first baby part. That part is win-win

Me too. Some of the comments on here have been ridiculous. What exactly has Kate done wrong?

So you have never gone out for an evening and left your kids with a baby sitter???? yeah right.

Sorry just seen this post. I'm sure your post wasn't aimed at me in particular but just wanted to say I don't have a problem with Kate not having a 'job' as such and I don't think the Royal family are a drain on tax payers money, was purely expressing my curiosity.

I know a lot of people think that way though which I'm sure is who your post was aimed at, just wanted to clarify to avoid confusion :flower:
