Ive got a craving for a fillet tower burger today, do you think its ok to eat kfc, from googling ive found mixed opinions, whats yours?
Ive never been ill from kfc

As long as what you're eating is cooked, I don't know why not? I don't know what a filet tower is though so I guess I'm no help :P

Its a chicken fillet burger with the hash brown on top

There really are no 'bad' foods (unless things aren't cooked properly or you are typically told to avoid them - though plenty of women eat soft cheese and sushi and whatnot all through pregnancy and are fine). The only less than ideal thing about KFC is that it's high in fat and sodium, but that's only bad if it's the only thing you eat. As an occasional treat, it's fine. You aren't any more likely to get a food-borne infection from KFC than you are from a fancy restaurant. They all have to follow the same safety standards and have the same health inspections. So don't stress, enjoy it and make up for it tomorrow with lots of fresh fruit and veggies.

haha KFC was my number one craving for the longest time and it's still there from time to time :winkwink: but if you found mixed reviews online, that's probably what you will get here. I don't want to bother researching to come up with an answer for you but I think with an educated guess, it is not the best thing for you to eat because of the fact that it is deepfried (transfats and whatnot). It's the batter that's the worst (but tastes the best!) imo. However, if you want to eat it on occasion, I can't see the harm so you go and eat that KFC girl! Just don't eat for two. It can't be much much worse than other women cheating with ice cream and cake on several occasions:happydance:

I was explicitly told by my doctor NOT to eat at KFC (or any fast food for that matter). The food is very processed and it has a lot of chemical additives. She also said no chinese food. I'm sure that once or twice won't be terrible, but there are much better things you could eat. For me this is torture because I would sell my favorite cat for a thing of cole slaw from KFC. We also had chinese once a week for the past year as our date night. I have found some awesome imitation recipes that you can make at home that taste similar or better. Check out foodnetwork.com or pinterest. I found an amazing recipe for baked buffalo dip and crock pot chinese food. I know exactly what is going into my food and I can adjust anything that I shouldn't be having.

The only fast food that I am allowed to have is Chipotle. Most of their food is organic and very few additives. It's good, because all my baby wants is Chipotle. :dohh:

I have only gained 0.5lb so far and weigh 8st 7.5lbs, i dont normally eat that kind of food but since being pregnant im craving all the things i normally dont eat

I normally eat organic salad/veg, lean meat etc.. I lost 8.5 stone prior to getting pregnant, i had mcdonalds 2 times last week, on days im not feeling so sick and off food i try and get my salad/veg in.

Ditto. I typically don't like spicy foods and I eat lots of chicken and chocolate. I have had no desire for chocolate and I have been starting to eat red meat a couple of times a week. So annoying! Fried foods make me gag and I was huge on that a couple of months ago! It's not good when the husband looks confused because I am eating celery. :dohh:

Oh a little of what you fancy what do you harm in moderation!
Have one!
x

Eating kfc is fine as long as it's not an everyday thing

God, we'd live on salad when pregnant if we listened to everyone. I've eaten KFC, I enjoyed it and will have it again. Have one! Don't cut yourself off completely!

Im having KFC tonight, i have a thing about that gravy! I used to eat the zinger burger before i was pregnant but i cant stomach it now :( Just popcorn chicken for me!
We only eat fast food if im not going straight home from work, i dont finish till 6 and i have to eat as soon as i get in,luckily i live 10 mins away. My stomach throws up all its bile in protest if i havent eaten in 2 hours.

I have had a few of those fillet tower burgers, and I did with my first pregnancy too, seems to be my craving! my little girl turned out fine so I say go for it! x

The only reason I won't go to KFC is the amount of MSG in their foods, which is the same reason some say to avoid Chinese food. I totally have fast-food cravings now, and I'll indulge on occassion, just not at KFC. But if MSG has never bothered you before, and you consume it in moderation, I'm sure you'll be okay. :)

Well i had a fillet tower burger and fries and it was yum, yum, yum lol

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a little fast food every now and then as long as it's cooked properly.

Lets be honest KFC isn't the best thing for you whether you are pregnant or not... but a little bit of what you fancy in moderation doesn't hurt either.

I say if you want it have it and enjoy it

Trans fats. We shouldn't eat it even not pregnant.

However, I totally understand your cravings. I was eating tons of veggies, everything organic, lean meat, etc before pregnancy. Now, I just crave junk food. That's so annoying. I dream about chicken McNuggets.

No kidding! It seems like everytime I read a food-related post, I feel guilty! I don't live off chocolate and potato chips or anything, but is there REALLY anyone out there who eats ALL of the recommended servings of each food group a day? And if so, how do you manage it?!
