EBF, mini pill and period returning???

So I'm only about 8.5 weeks PP and I've just started a full blown period.

I thought if ou were EBF that you weren't supposed to be fertile?!

I also started the mini pill six days ago. Could that be why I am having a cycle? Cause if so I'm considering stopping them lol

I heard you're actually very fertile after giving birth. . I am also EBF and on the mini pill..I asked my dr when to expect period and she said everyone is different..she said some women get it right away and some not for a long time..unfortunately it sounds like you are one of the early ones

Sorry I meant to say that you can be fertile even while EBF..also I still haven't gotten my period being on the mini pill so I don't think that's necessarily what it is..hope that helps!

Same here. Still EBF and LO was 10 weeks old when my period started again. I was gutted! Had been hoping it would stay away for a bit longer! Oh well, not to be obviously!

DF & I had unprotected sex OFTEN the first year after DS was born and we have no fertility issues.. if you know your body well, you will know when you're ovulating.

I'm now pregnant with #2 but I *knew* I was fertile. All the signs. You can be very fertile, you might not.. every woman is different.

If you don't want to lose your supply and don't want a period, keep breastfeeding as often as possible!

I wouldn't count your chickens.. 5 days after I started the mini pill (6weeks pp) I bled like a full blown period for two days but then almost instantly it stopped. Doc said this may happen when starting the mini pill.

Just wait it out and see coz I'm now 10week pp and have nothing! So maybe it's just the breakthrough bleeding

I agree, you can still be fertile while ebf, I've been taking the mini pill since Christmas '12 after the birth of my lo. I've not had any bleeding at all - I know they say you can spot etc, they told me it was unlikely that I'd get a period at all but I guess this depends on the type that you're on xx

It's so strange! I find that I get bright red blood about an hour after I take my pill each day and it lasts a few hours before it trickles down to nothing again! So frustrating ....
