OH started Work yesterday after 4 months of jsa. I did a benefit calculation on the gov website and it showed one figure. Did a tax credits calculation on there website and it showed another calculation (difference of £62 per week!) then went onto the local authority website armed with the info off the tax credit website to.check housing and council tax relief....a bigger amount shown on that than on gov website. As they are joint claims, I'm sorting them today.
Also, on the gov website, it showed me as getting contribution based jsa. I'm not planning on claiming jsa as I'm not looking for work. The plan originally was for me to work 16 hours a week but as we would only be £4 a week better off, we've decided against it. Can they insist I claim the contribution based jsa?
