~*~Feb Lovebugs Baby Club :)~*~

Oh my, have any of you tried going out walking yet, holy god, my pelvis aches....all those poor tendons are feeling it....is this just me, am I that out of shape that I can't walk anymore !!??? :haha:

Emma i havent found it too bad...but didnt have a natural birth so my lady bits dont feel any different!! Although it feels strange that i dont have this huge bowling ball stuck onto my stomach, and i dont have to lean back when im walking anymore haha.

Well im at my wits end!!
I took Vinnie to the doctors today. Theres something not right with him at all. Hes sicking up a little bit after feeds, not sleeping as well as before, hes very fussy on the boob...will suckle for a little while then come off, i wind him put him back on he takes a bit more than straightens out and cries, but keeps wanting more! He doesnt settle for at least an hour after a feed. He really arches his back when im winding him so it makes it hard for me to do it. And hes been gagging and choking alot recently.
The doctor just fobbed me off with the "its wind...all babies get it. Give him warm water" shit!! But im sure its not just wind. It drives me crazy sometimes when he just will not settle. Ive been giving him infacol for about 2 weeks but it doesnt seem to of helped.

Im already fed up of doctors and health visitors!!
xx

VP- the doctors and HV have fobbed me off with that rubbish aswell, there is clearly something not right with Adam, im pretty sure its reflux, went back to the docs today with him, and again all i was told is try warm water, and cut back on the infacol because in some cases it can make it worse,

x

I mentioned reflux and she said it wasnt that because hes not projectile vomiting :/
xxx

Lucia - if he arches his back and is fussy on the boob its most likly reflux. A lot of ladies on here say to use infant gaviscon - so maybe get some over the counter and if it works go bug the gp for a prescription of it.

Shelby has reflux too but she managing it alright now. She only occasionally screams after feeding now. I don't really know whats changed but maybe she's just grown out of it a little bit.

Hope you get a good answer soon
X

Will reply properly when i have two arms free... but before he screams for a feed can anyone help with this https://www.babyandbump.com/baby-club/296400-baby-gaviscon.html#post4775568 xx

Lee lee some one here mentioned something about difficulties in latching on, around page 38 I think, if you ask your doctor or HV they can help you.
xx

Thanks Pixie. I had great support with breastfeeding but he has only latched on to the nipple twice and with the shields he hates them too. The midwives think it is because he was a forceps birth.

Just found you all! Am going back to read over what I have missed!

Hi there, enjoy reading, it took me forever to catch up when I eventually arrived here. How you doing?

I am doing well. I have a fairly chilled out baby. I have been letting him dictate the routine and he is feeding between 3-4 hours during the day and having a 5 hour stretch at night.

How are you?

:hugs:

Have you tried a crainial osteopath (sp?) I have heard amazxing things as with a forceps birth it changes the shape of their head and the osteopath can realign it and they can start feeding straight away1 probably worth a try? xx

Thanks Claire,

Yes, am looking into getting one. The HV recommended going to the GP first but I don't think there is any point. She didn't recommend one though, which I thought she would. Will have to try and find one online.

Right. I have been to the doctors today...I do have PND. I will spare everyone all the gory details, but I have really been struggling. Spending hours at a time crying, and other much darker stuff that I won't go into. I have been prescribed anti depressants and offered counselling which I'm thinking about whether or not I think will be beneficial. The worst thing about it all is that I feel I haven't properly bonded with Edward, I've been feeling more like caring for him is a chore, rather than wanting to do it out of love. I'm hoping now that I will be happy again and able to enjoy him.

I wasn't going to mention anything, but I think it's important that people speak about things like this so others in the same situation know that it's okay, and that if they ask for help they will get it. Also, thanks to Max for PMing me with advice and support :hugs:

Lucia- it does sound like Vinnie might have reflux. It could be silent reflux, where they have all other reflux symptoms without actually being sick. Google it if you want more info.

Gill- Don't worry about the :sex: it will get less scary with time xx

Katy - I am glad that you have been properly diagnosed. A close friend of mine was diagnosed with it last year and some of the dark feelings and thoughts she had were truly terrible. She has come through it now though and has bonded with her baby and looks and feels great, as you will do too in time.

:hugs:

You really are a star katy. It might feel like you are on autopilot just now, but once the anti depressants kick in, you should feel much better. Also with edward being given gaviscon, you should hopefully notice a big difference soon. With my PND with summer, I now know it wasnt that I didnt bond with her, it was that i loved her soooo very much, I just couldnt bear feeling like I had failed her, I had to shut my emotions off. I only wish i had gone for help, instead of burying my head in the sand, you should be very proud of yourself. xxx

The doctor has advised me to tell my HV to see if she can recommened any more specialised help rather than just general counselling. Only I thought the HV was a cow when she did the home visit  so I don't really want to talk to her. I might go to the clinic and see if there's another HV I can talk to. Doctor also said that with the pregnancy I had she wasn't at all surprised that I have it, as apparently I had all the contributing risk factors during pregnancy xx

Katy, so glad you sought help and have been properly diagnosed, you'll get there.
Big hugs
Jane xx

Aww katy! Great news! Well in the best possible sense If you know what I mean - at least now you are on the road to recovery!
XX

Katy I am sorry to hear about your PND, i suffered horribly after i had Kayden but it was 1 and a half years and a new doctor before i got the PND diagnosis so hopefully with catching it early you will be fine. If you need a chat feel free to contact me xx

I am fine thanks. Tahlia is on the gaviscon for relflux now which is reducing the vomiting episodes :haha:. I was so not prepared for that & the amount of washing as Kaden wasnt sicky at all!! Quite pleased atm actually as have jsut fed and winded her but she was fussing in my arms so put her in the bouncy chair with vibrate on and she is now asleep - result!! I think the fact that she isnt laid flat helps with the reflux too mind. Peace for a few minutes, well, not really with Kaden around but you know what I mean. Sounds like you have a very relaxed lil man there, the longest we have gone between feeds is 4hrs on the very odd occasion.:flower:
