So, i will be starting femara for the first time this month...(Cd3-7, 5mg) after 4 superflop clomid cycles.. I ovulated on each one of them but couldnt get bfp.. So im now on provera to jump start a cycle. waiting for af to hit.. ill be having a completely monitored cycle... So any Jan cycle clomid/femara buddies for me ???:flower:

I'll be your buddy!!:) This is my first round of Femara, I'm CD14 now, waiting for O - no trigger shot, no monitoring, just giving it the ol' college try! Trying to stay positive! We are right at our year mark of TTC!

:) finally found a cycle buddy !! I am on a monitored cycle.. done with CD3 (actually did on CD2) labs, havent talked to doctor yet, but my fsh is 4.9 which seems superb !! (I'm 25 years old) but i am yet to receive other results..

I cant wait for CD10 HSG... scared to death...how was your hsg experience ?? any tips/ideas?

The HSG was no big deal at all - I just took 4 Motrin about an hour before, and I only had light cramps that lasted about 10 seconds when the Dr. inserted the catheter. By looking online at other stories, it seems that some people have a really hard time with it - but just try to relax and I think you'll be fine!:) That's exciting about your FSH! I didn't have mine checked at the beginning of this cycle, and I kind of wish that I had. I took 5mg of Femara CD3-7 - I'm currently CD22 and no sign of O yet:( I'm super frustrated and I wish I knew why this was happening - my Dr. wanted me to try femara so that I would O earlier. Clearly that's not happening!! My last 3 cycles, I've O'd between CD19 and 21. It seems my ovaries are not getting good signals to release the egg! I hate all the confusion and wondering and waiting...it's playing with my head. So the only labs I've had done are thyroid, testosterone (to test for PCOS), prolactin, progesterone 8 days past O - these were done this past fall, and everything was normal. My HSG was normal. My husband's sperm analysis was normal. At this point, we just have unexplained infertility:( I think my next step will be to see an infertility specialist....praying for a miracle! Good luck to you this cycle!

that makes me feel better.. I too ovulated on all cycles of clomid but had a super late ovulation .. anything on cd16 and above is "not too good" according to my RE cause the egg quality would have diminished.. she thinks that might also be a reason. So to make things better she straight away started me with 5mg femara 3-7...
On the other note, i received my prolactin results... super dissapointed my level is 26 ng/ml ..normal level range in my lab being 3ng/ml-25ng/ml... just missed it.. i have no clue what this means and i have 2 more results to get back....Dont mind me asking , how much was your prolactin?

I don't remember exactly how much mine was - the nurse just called and said it was within normal limits. I think if your prolactin is high, then that stops your other hormones from rising at the right time? I'm not exactly sure, but I'm sure you could read up on it, or just call back and ask to speak to your doctor. I think that is something that is very "fixable", on a good note! There are meds for it. Did you have your prolactin checked at the beginning of your cycle? That's interesting about your RE saying O'ing any time past CD16 is not good, because I've heard of a lot of people O'ing after that day and going on to have perfectly healthy babies - hmmmm, all this is so confusing! I was hoping I would O earlier on Femara, but I'm at CD23 and still haven't confirmed O yet:( Last cycle, it was on day 19. I have heard of Femara pushing back O a little, but it helps to make a strong, healthy egg...what does your RE say about this?

you are right.. i too know of many people who have ovulated later on and had healthy babies but most of them are normal ovulators without any stimulations like clomid, femara etc.. also the antral follicles of normal ovaries will be new but in case of PCOS'ers these antral follicles would be sitting for a long time so she thinks that makes them yet more older...god alone knows what is true :(

but yes, she does think Femara with higher dosers does push up ovulating a little earlier but if i were you i would get my fsh also checked up. Cause you dont want to hurt your body with strong medications, when there is a underlaying problem... not to scare you but my BFF had 4 failed rounds of clomid and 2 failed rounds of iui with femara. When she switched RE's she was diagnosed with very high fsh... Not that you would have it but it doesnt hurt to get it tested :) hope you didnt mind my suggestion :)

No, I agree - I will probably ask my doctor if I can have that checked, along with my estrogen in the first half of my cycle - haven't done that yet! I think it's a good idea to have a baseline check of everything. So I have been ovulating on my own for a while...just always naturally late. I've only been charting since August of last year, and since then, I haven't ovulated before CD19. My doc wanted me to try Femara to see if it would help me O soon - that's clearly not the case this cycle! I guess its encouraging that I have always O'd on my own, just naturally later than "normal", if there even is a normal:) My testosterone levels were normal so I don't think I have PCOS. I don't have any other signs of that either. Just hoping to have some answers sooner rather than later!

In your case, since all other things look good, you have very good chances... turns out my prolactin is a little higher which is messing up my cycles... my stupid lab does not give my E2 and amh results until like Feb 6th which sucks... so my only option is to wait !!
I have my hsg coming this 31st .. so really looking forward for that !! i hope no blockages :(
i have never ever conceived, no history of pelvic inflammatory dieseases or STD and no surgeries...what do yu think of my chances of having blocked tube??

Probably pretty low...I bet yours are open:) The dye can sometimes clear out some "sludge" (sorry that sounds gross, haha)...and I've heard of some women conceiving that same cycle because there is such a clear path. That wasn't the case for me:(...but who knows! It could be the trick for you! I was just thrilled that everything was normal on mine and DH's SA was normal - the only downside is the unexplained infertility - just wondering and waiting....Did you ask your doctor about something to level out your prolactin?

i have just shared the results now.. im sure there are meds out there.. but i donot think thats the reason which kept us from bfp.. becuase even when i ovulated on clomid i got bfn... have yu considered iui or something? i will probably go for it... not sure what to think of DH's SA... not looking promising 18 million concentration and 40% motility and morphology is 9%...

I don't think IUI would be a good investment for us because DH has excellent SA results...I would have to look more into it, I guess...I'm hoping either Femara or Clomid works for us - I would do injectibles if we don't have any luck with the meds alone..

yes, injectibles may be a good choice.. in the other note, my bff is expecting her baby #3... its her second bfp since i have started trying.. actually we both started in june 2011.. since then she has gotten preggo twice... hurts like a biatch :( but right now its very important for me to keep a calm mind...my hormones are damn wacky that even little bit of a stress can riun all my medications... the toughest part in ttc is to keep up hope and be positive...
anyways that was totally off topic... femara is giving me bad headaches and also my bbt have jumped like crazy.. any experience with this....??

I totally understan - I tell myself the same thing! I've had 2 neices born in the past 3 months...of course I'm happy for my sisters-in-law, but it's so hard to watch, especially since they were babies #3&4! I also feel like all my friends are announcincing BFPs left and right, and we just have cycle after cycle with no luck...I just hope it's our turn soon! Especially b/c we have been married 8 1/2 years..some of my friends that have only been married a couple years are already pregnant! Rant over:)

I have noticed my temps in the first half of my cycle were all over the place, and I O'd about 4 days later than normal...I'm hoping that was just the time that my follicle needed to really grow strong! I finally confirmed O yesterday, so here I am in the TWW....UGH

And I actually did have some pretty bad headaches before O, now that I think about it!

Wow izzy... :) thats super good news !! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you !!!! All the best.. Baby dust !

I too have some good news to share !! my CD 3 estradiol and AMH levels are in...E2 was 49 pg/ml and AMH was 6.27 ng/ml... havent spoken to doctor but according to reference range they are normal.. AMH not very sure.. it's high according to some websites and not according to others.. but i have number of eggs.. thats the saving grace :)

IzzyNC.. sorry to be a sneaker but your chart looks awesome.. any updates yet?

thanks, hun! No updated...I'm 9dpo, haven't early tested yet. I have a bunch of IC's that I'm thinking of digging into tomorrow morning. I'm so nervous! I DO feel like our timing was spot on, but I have next to zero early pregnancy symptoms, other than a little fatigue. I just don't want to be disappointed, again! Aaaahhh I hate the two week wait!! Thanks for the encouraging words, though! How are you doing?

my hsg was horrible for me because i had a narrow/closed cervix for which they had to call OBgyns to use special instruments. Because of that i bled a little and developed extrutiating pains and low grade fever next morning (around 2 am) and was taken to ER.. Thankgod no infection.. blood, pee were normal. But the great thing is both my tubes were super clear !!
they said my cervix had some adhesions which were broken during hsg.. they can be a reason we couldnt get pregnant.
On CD12, i had only one mature follicle about 23.35mm on my right so im pretty bummed. I had 7mm (which is ok) triple lining .. my RE said inches are not important but how it looks is (triple lining).. she seemed happy about it !! Anyways got trigger shot..we have done spot on timed intercourse and will continue to bd every 12 hrs once roughly to cover our bases.
But since 12 hrs past trigger i am having pain on both my sides !! no clue what that means... just praying now to ovulate... any idea with triggers?
