So I'm a single mum and my daughter is 14 months.

I have finally found a job for 16hrs and will be working same shifts every week during nursery hrs.

I've been told I have to pay a month's fees in advance. I'm really struggling to see how I am going to do this being on
Income support???

Also are nursery places like gold dust?

How soon after telling Tax office I will be starting work will I receive my WTC and the help for the nursey fees?

Any advice regarding getting LO into nursery and sorting my benefits/tax credits would be much appreciated as I'm stressing out so much that I will have to turn job down as I simply dnt know where I'm going to get the sort of money needed.

Please help xx

Hello my love,

Don't panic it will all be ok.
first speak to job center and explain what has happened - they should be able to arrange a crisis/budgeting loan for this. speak to the daycare and ask whether they'll take a deposit to secure the place and you'll have the first month asap.

Contact the tax credits people over the phone the day before or on the day you start your new job, as they can't usually make any changes before then.

Have all your daycare details to hand and you contract from your workplace.

you can do it all over the phone they'll send you paperwork to confim.

As for daycare places like golddust - i guess it really depends where you are - and if your daughter likes it!!

Can any of your family help with your first months fees and you pay them back with your first wages/tax credits??

Good luck and message me if you need any more advice xxxxxx:thumbup:

You can tell tax credits a week before that your daughter will start nursery & as long as you get your tax credits weekly you should get your childcare payment the week she starts :flower:

Congrats on the job!! :flower:

xXx

Thanks ladies. Managed to get my manager to confirm my shifts by lunch today so I
Can phone the nurseries to get a quote and to go view them. Will phone job centre to see if they can help in anyway. If the tax office can confirm my payments I might be able to use my rent money to pay nursey then recoup from my weekly tax credits up til when my rent in due but it's going to be very right. X
