First Timer looking for others in the first tri to chat

Jello that sounds awful do you also get sciatica aswell or is it just ligament pain xx

Ask again that is amazing news Im so happy for you x when is your next scan booked for xx mine feels so far away 4 weeks x

Star Im sure everything will be fine when do you go for a scan xx

Alligator glad the MS is clearing up hopefully it disappears all together soon xx

I did get mild sciatica with my son when I was in my third tri a few years ago. The ligament pain definitely makes me stop and catch my breath sometimes. I just can't believe that I'm feeling this pain already, it took until late second tri with my son. Hopefully its not twins lol!

Jello maybe its due to it not being your first the pain comes more frequent but mention it to your Ob hun I would xx

Guys what is with this tiredness my god I could literally fall asleep all the time its a struggle to keep my eyes open xx

Angela I'm with you on the fatigue. I'm so utterly exhausted this pregnancy.

I'm getting less ligament pain so far than I did with my first when I was this far along, but I do feel it every so often!

Ugh, I can't seem to muster up any energy today. I work 4 hours a day from home, I've managed to put in 2 hours today and have been in bed the rest of it! It's kind of ridiculous! All I want to eat is vanilla ice cream, and haven't eaten any veggies or fruit in days. Lack of nourishing food probably doesn't help the energy level!

Sorry to hear about the pains some of you are having!

MKaykes and caviar I am feeling you both with this tiredness its ridiculous Im constantly tired and cant seem to wake myself up Im going to look at changing my multi vit see if that helps and maybe take an iron tablet xx my boobs have grown a cup size already and my belly is bloated but its uncomfortable to breath in xx

How is everybody elses symptoms xx

I dont wamt to complain to much as I know Im blessed to be pregnant after my years of trying and Im lucky to not have MS but Im working full time shift work I work 10 hrs and it takes me nearly an hour to get to work so its dangerous when I drive as Im absolutely wiped out and after a while I find it hard concentrating on my work, Ive also let my cleanliness standards slip too and sweeping and moping even thinking about it makes me yawn and fall asleep, I find that also if Im over tired I start feeling a little dizzy and get bad nausea xx

My MS/nausea is starting to lighten up some! Mornings are iffy but usually once I'm up and moving and have eaten I'm okay. Hopefully that sticks around!

I am still quite exhausted and I notice it's worse if I have an active day - I get so much more sleepy. Went for a walk at lunch (had to get blood work about 15 mins from my office so I walked, since it's nice) and I am gutted this afternoon. Can't stop yawning!

Boobs still sore (and huge), bloat/bump. Saw babe at our NT scan yesterday and the little bean (not a bean anymore!!) looks great!

Amazing Alligator did you get a scan pic x apparantly tje tiredness does go away in the 2nd tri x

I did get a picture! It's on my journal if you'd like to see :) Looks like a real baby! Our first scan at 8+1 we saw a little bean...Looked like a peanut M&M so I started calling babe my little peanut. Not a peanut anymore LOL!

Alligator Ive just checked it out thats an amazing scan pic so clear so happy for you that it all went well amazing news xx and I love the announcement pic x

Yes, the exhaustion is real! Goodness I had no idea it would be like this.

I feel nauseous a good part of the day. I get hungry but when I start eating the nausea gets worse and I’m eating much less than usual but I think I’m still eating enough. I put on 10+ pounds with IVF so I’ve got some reserve! :)

Breasts remain very sore and now my nipples have joined them.

I’ve also had to start taking colace so I can use the bathroom regularly. Oy!

But it’s allll worth it!

Ask4joy Im the same feel so grateful after my long fertility journey but I never expected tiredness like this its crazy it would be much easier if I didnt work but have to pay the bills so no chance of that happening lol xx

Im also having toilet troubles thinking about going Drs to get something for it as it can make me so bloated at times xx

Also does anyone else feel like this first Tri is just dragging so much Im not even 9 wks yet and its still another 3 wks and 1 day till my next scan seems like so far away xx

Angela - have you tried colace (stool softener)? It’s on the list of things my doctor said was safe to use. It has helped me the last few days. Laxatives are not allowed but stool softeners are ok.

I've used Metamucil for constipation - not sure if that is available in the UK though or if they have something similar? It is a powder you mix with water and drink. It is wheat based so it is all natural. Works wonders. I drink it once every day when I'm constipated and every 2-3 days just to keep me regular. I tried a pill form of a stool softener once and ended up with diarrhea for a week (sorry for the TMI)

I feel like the first trimester is dragging too. Thankfully my nausea seems to be improving for the most part now though. I was actually kind of concerned at first. I mean... we don't want to be sick, yet once the sickness goes away we immediately become worried that something is wrong with the baby. It is like a double edged sword. I'm starting to feel flutters now though and I've caught baby on the doppler a few times so hopefully it is just easing now that I'm getting close to the second trimester. These last few weeks are taking forever though!

Angela if you can't find Colace as it is a brand, the generic is docusate sodium. I took this daily during my egg retrieval cycle. Thankfully I've had no issues with constipation.

I agree about the dragging on. Sometimes I'm like, hey half way through the first tri, but then I remember that the first 4 don't really count.

Yay guys Im 9 wks now and my baby is officially a fetus xx my scan still feels like forever away 3 wks and 2 days till I see my little snowflake again xx Im calling it a snowflake for now because of conceiving in winter time lol I dont like refering to it as an it lol xx

Thanks for the tips guys in relation to toilet help I will go boots and see if I can pick any of them up if not I speak to midwife and Dr xx

Caviar thats amazibg that your hearing baby on doppler and also your feeling the butterflies which is movement your nearly there into the 2nd tri xx I cant wait to get out of the first tri and see my snowflake again then I may relax a bit. Saying that I probably wont relax till Im at the week were if the baby was born theres a high successful survival rate, which week is that again does anybody know xx

MKaykes i think thats what the issue is because we all found out at very early stages it has made this first tri suck a long process and with us all worrying and playing the waiting game to get out of this 1st tri it makes the waiting so much longer xx

So I was supposed to have my scan on Thursday, but the northeast US got hit with a big storm that day, so my appointment got canceled. I have to call today and reschedule. I just want to know how far along I am and what my due date is so that I can start planning things out. I know I've got a while, but I'm a planner so it's giving me a little anxiety not knowing yet.

Edit: Just called and my scan is now for this Thursday, as you have to have it done before your first prenatal appointment, which is also Thursday. :haha:

Jello, what a bummer you had to reschedule. Stupid weather! Thursday will be here before you know it!

How is everyone doing?

I'm dealing with mild nausea everyday now and wake up with wicked heartburn. I've had GERD my whole life, but had it pretty well under control until the last week or so. My real bad nausea hits late afternoon our early evening. Threw up once around 6pm. I guess its a good sign, but annoying!

We've pretty much told everyone in our immediate circle, so I hope all is well at our scan on Wed. We graduate from the fertility clinic then too and start weaning off the FET meds. Looking forward to not doing shots every other day, suppositories 3 times a day and patches but nervous to trust my body!
