I have just been sold some flips and the inserts STINK.

Whats the best way to get rid of the smell. Last time I put smelly inserts with the rest of my nappies it made them stink too bleurgh

I'm just put them in the wash on their own and do a strip wash. You could use your machine's half load button but I'd be inclined to think that the extra water would do them good!

If its Flip inserts...I bleach mine lightly along with my V3 inserts once in a while if they really stink...if they're just a tad pongey I do extra rinses...

To bleach -just soak in a bucket of water for half a day with a capful (or two) of bleach...works a treat

thanks ladies - poor stinky flips not being loved by their last owner :haha:

I agree with rachel_c, a strip wash on 60 degrees and lots of rinses sorts them out! I also add some nappisan to the prewash cycle. I think that the flips do tend to get a little stinky, more so than my other inserts! Maybe it's having the fleece sewn in? Not sure! Good luck!

I lightly bleach mine if they get a bit stinky & cant be bothered doing a strip wash :)
