Wow Cazd, bet you'd get an 'A' if you were in a spreadsheet class!!

I think I'll have a word with DH and see how he feels about it. We've tried to avoid as far as possible turning sex into sex only for the sake of making a baby! He was reluctant to do OPKs for a long time as he was worried about the 'quick, get to bed now!' side of things. We've started doing OPKs now though and he's fine with that, but I think he'd be a bit alarmed at how technical the temping would be. I guess in a way the temps don't actually tell you when to BD so they're kind of something to look back at after OV, so in that way we wouldn't be dashing off to bed just because of a certain temp. So, hmmm, might give them a try. I guess it will give me a clearer idea of my cycles.

Thanks for the advice!

How's everyone doing? Anyone nearing test date/ AF date???? x

haha - I'm a total nerd!!

GIRLS - I GOT OUR TEST RESULTS BACK!!! and it aint good news :hissy:

S/A = horrific!
morphology = 3% (was 6%) (morphology = % of NOT deformed :spermy)
non-motile = 23% (was 16%)
no-progression = 21% (was 5%)
slow-progression = 56% (was 33%)
rapid-progression = 0% (was 46%)

PH, Volume and Viscocity remain unchanged at 8.0, 30.0ml, and Low respectively.

So - that sounds pretty bad to me!

But - I haven't got a clue about the bloods - can any of you shed a light on these?

FSH = 6.5 u/l
LH = 4.4 u/l
Oestradiol = 271 pmol/l
Testosterone (0.5 - 2.5) nmol/l 1.1
SHBG nmol/l HAV
Free Testost nmol/l HAV
Androstenedi nmol/l HAV
Prolactin (59-619) mU/l 134
Progesterone nmol/l 54.7
(progesterone reference range - follicular 0.6-2.6, Luteal 13.2-75.2)

FSH, LH, PROGESTERONE and OESTRADIOL are all great. I didn't have the others taken so not sure about them. Looks like you're super healthy cazd and it's DH. Just like me and my DH. So are they referring you for ICSI then? I don't want to be mean but my DH's results were better a bit then yours and they told us ICSI was our only option. How are you holding up?? sending you some hugs. On the plus side I would love to welcome you to join me in waiting for the next step! I'll be here for you if you need me, I am a wealth of knowledge by this point about IVf and ICSI.

ooh - thanks! I couldn't bear looking into the results yesterday - I was so gutted about the S/A - they're pretty pants aren't they!!!

Glad you think my bloods look OK - my one ovary must be doing its job!

Oh and I have spoken quite a few times about IVF and intervention and decided that's not the route for us.

But... now its.... erm... OK - is anyone else annoyed about this sodding banner at the bottom - "how to get pregnant fast - don't wait any longer.." AAARRRRGH!!!!

ahem - back to me! I think I'm gonna see if I can persuade him to consider it.
How did your man feel about it all?
did he need convincing?

I mean - its still HIS :spermy:

TBH I was a mess yesterday afternoon - especially when OH heard the results and said well that's it then... we're not having children.
So frustrating 'cos if he was a bit more healthy food and drink-wise his soldiers might improve!!!

But... I really appreciate your support and I think I'll be coming to join you with ICSI !!
OK - gonna set up a new FS appointment ticker! 4 weeks today!

Aaaawww Cazd I'm so sorry about the crappy SA results. Hope you and your hubby are doing ok.

And yes I hate that banner :growlmad:

hiya cazd...iv just joined lol!! well im awaiting my blood test results and hubbys SA results.. oh and cazd my next appointment is 3 weeks yesterday !! xx

My Dh and I had talked about it previously and he said he was fine with it so long as we didn't make ourselves broke doing it. I think he knew how much I wanted kids. I mean he wants kids to but I am not sure if he would bother with ICSI if I didn't want them that bad. I just asked he said that if it weren't for me he wouldn't bother and would keep having unprotected sex to see if it eventually would happen. If it is as important to you as it is to me to have our own biological child then I would talk to him.

What about donor sperm or adoption? Would you consider any of those? If ICSI doesn't work for us we're going IUI with donor sperm. We'll buy all the contributions made by the donor for any future kids so they are all brothers and sisters.

Wanabe ! thanks for joining us!
Have you had any results yet or will all be revealed at the appointment?

I'm not sure how many rounds of treatment we get in the UK...
2 cycles of IVF I think.
I'm pretty set on it being our creation so I wonder if we might just go for whatever we get on the NHS and then if that doesn't work leave it there...

That'd be so strange though wouldn't it... having siblings with the same donor sperm.
I mean... great idea for them - they'd share genes and looks.
Its just incredible that the :spermy: lasts that long!

cazd...well i only had a preliminary hsg result from the nurse and my gp briefly told me my cycle day 2 blood test was ok but i find out in detail on 4th december for all results..very nervous(fingers crossed). xx

well I know all about that nervous wait. I banged on about it for long enough that they posted all our results to us - hahaha.

hows your man taking it all? happy to come along with you and get things investigated?

My DH wasn't happy about the first SA but he did everything with minimal whining. And I say damn right cause he didn't have to go through the pain of the HSG. He's been pretty great with everything, sometimes he gets sick of me talking about life not being fair not having a baby etc but nothing to bad.

Wanabe22 hi and good luck with your test results. Looks like a few people are off to the FS in December.

My OH hated handing over the SA - I think he blushed - though it was better the second time.

Sorry all I'm going to whine a bit today. My OH has just been shipped off for work (to another country!!!). So I have to cancel my FS appointment in December and make one in February :cry:

So no hope for December or even Jan... Think I'll make those get fit months (what am I saying - eat more chocolate and christmas pudding months).

Hope you all have a great WE.

well DH has been great with doing his S/A twice(6weeks apart)but i think he is alittle anxious about the results,he came with me to have my cycle day 2 and 21 and took me in for my HSG test and was acomfort after. all in all he is brill about the whole thing...bless him...i love him a million!!
we both very nervous about results but what will be will be and iv gota keep with the PMA!
Winks..Thanxu...fingers crossed ah!sorry to hear about ur hubs having to go away xx

oh winks! that's awful - 2 months is a long time- and over xmas too - will he be away for the whole time?

Hi ladies, cazd sorry to hear about DH's SA results. Hope he's happy to go down the treatment route if that's what it takes. I'm kind of having the debate with DH at the moment as he's reluctant to go down a treatment route (we are still unexplained at moment, both with normal results) but I'm at the stage where I will try anything if it gets me that BFP.

Winks sorry to hear your OH has had to go away, how frustrating! Couldn't he have frozen you some of his soldiers to use while he's away!!! Sorry, I joked to my DH about that when he had to be away once!

Nothing to report here. On CD27, so near to AF time and have NO reason to believe this cycle would be any different to any other. Just feel normal so pretty sure AF will be here as usual. The cow! x

yeah - me too - I'm on knicker watch waiting for the :witch: to drop ....

I talked to OH about intervention last night and he's pretty sure he doesn't want to do it.
I can see his point though - what if we're not meant to have children and we go and force it and end up with a disabled baby! I know the chances are slim but we'd never forgive ourselves.
So...for us.... its 'natural' or not at all....

yup - me too.... SLAG BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG !!!!!

I've just called the hospital to confirm my HSG but I came on a day too early so I'm out of the 10 day window for their next clinic :hissy:
She's gonna see what she can do but its unlikely I'll have the HSG now before the FS appointment on the 10th December... grrrrrr

Aaah cazd that's so frustrating. Why does AF mess us around so much!! Mine is a day early, don't know why! Need to get myself a BBT as going to try temping for a couple of months. Did everyone buy theirs online or do any shops sell them? Feel a bit embarrassed going and asking for one as I don't want to explain what its for. Need one today though seeing as I'm suddenly on CD1 again! x
