G & A; UK uses it in labor, in US dental it is not allowed. Whaat??

Supertabby, it likely affected your memory or was something other than dental nitrous if it knocked you out. Nitrous can have this effect on young children but is unable to generally anesthetise. PP poster did say it is the same but I havent looked into it. Clinical dental procedures are standard 30% nitrous, varying only slightly higher/lower depending on need. At lease this is US standards, I cant speak for anywhere else. Like you said, Im sure its higher for labor, but at too high a dosage its likely to cause vomiting.

Id be curious if anyone knows the standard labor dosage?

Edited to add: Wikipedia states its a 50%/%50 mixture of nitrous and oxygen.

Entonox in the UK is 50% Oxygen and 50% Nitrous Oxide. Perhaps your dental version has a different Oxygen : Nitrous Oxide ratio

This was the only thing that got me through labour! I don't think I would have survived without it :haha:
