It's not been quite so warm here, 20-25 but I'm glad I coudln't cope last week when it hit 32! Showers...

Can I join in too? There doesn't seem to be anyone from Denmark and we're only 2 hours from the German border (which doesn't seem far to someone from America).

Yep sure! We're all living in a new country :P
Are you there now? or not quite yet?

Are you moving moving there or going for a year or something?

Hello Gunnhilde :) I am from Hamburg , so I am not too far from the Danish/German border either. Are you on mainland denmark or on the Islands?

It is permanent. I'm marrying a Dane. :winkwink:

In Jutland (the peninsula), specifically Aarhus.

I heard Hamburg is really nice!

Oh nice, I married a German :P Hey ladies, does anyone know a good store (in germany!) to get maternity bras from? I like well fitting bras, but I can't find anything that isn't cheap and nasty :(

never bothered with a maternity bra so can't help you there. Perhaps babywalz might have some, I did see some when I went there last, whether they're good or not I don't know.

I know one good store chain in germany is" change". They have sizes that you normally don't find in the run of the mill german shops(don't ask me why German shops are so weird with their restricted range of sizes, :haha:) It may be cheaper though to order them from the UK. For some reason bras are expensive and restricitve in size range in germany.

Btw I am a native German-- but my oh is South African :D.

Sarah, I dunno I had all mine from the UK before I moved here... I wouldn't even know where to go for a regular bra here! I think most lingerie shops would sell some maternity bras too? Hotmilk are an online bra shop for maternity/nursing bras...

Cant really help with the bras but debenhams etc in the uk al deliver to germany

I bought a kind of sports bra, soft maternity bra today. It was from a baby store. I'll see how it goes! I'm just way more used to underwire and cups and things .

I bought a baby wrap today! I don't see people doing it much here, but I wanted to give it a go :)

There is always Amazon too (I know I saw maternity wear on the German one). I think I tried one maternity bra and it looked awful. Honestly, I just folded down the cups on a regular bra or lifted the breast up. For me, I needed the support and the thickness helped when I leaked through nursing pads.

I think you'll love the baby wearing. I loved it with DD and it was really special.

I just thought I'd get some for now until I start losing the boob size. I normally buy Victoria secret (they send to germany!!!) but I didnt want to have to fluff around wtih new sizes and then having bras that don't fit... although I guess bras only last a year-ish...

Yeah, we got the try the wrap with a heavy doll today, it was really nice. Even my DH got wrapped up :)

Here in Hamburg, especially down in the more 'alternative parts ' You can often see people babywearing, with slings and meitais. unlike the mum that I saw at the robot today that had a forwardfacing crotch dangler...

Maternity bras aren't underwired anyway Sarah, so the wire don't cut in to your boobs...
Quite a lot of baby wearers round here too :)

Ok, well maybe I just live I the wrong part of Germany! I ordered a few things from Amazon over the last few days, I hope they start coming today! I want my parcels!!
