GI issues and ASD?

Does anyone here have experience of ASD children and GI problems? I feel like my DS (2.5 years old) has diarrhea-like stools every few weeks. We thought it was orange juice that is causing it but we stopped giving that to him and just give him water but he has the loose stools again this week. Today his school nurse called asking for someone to pick him up because he had 2 loose stools and their policy is 2 and they get picked up.... at this point I am not sure if I should take him to a GI dr. I was reading that ASD kids are more likely to have GI issues and I was also reading about the GAPS diet but my DS is a very picky eater to begin with.. I would be happy to hear about any experiences you may have... thanks!
