For the past week or so the thought of sweets, cakes, puddings and especially chocolate has mead eme feel ill. This is good for me weight wise but I felt awful yesterday. it was my birthday and at only 6 weeks people at work don;t know and I had to keep making excuses why I didn't want cake.
Then after moaning that I never got a birthday cake from my husband last year I got home and he had baked a chocolate cake. I just couldn't bring myself to try any and I had to stay out the kitchen until the smell of baking had gone. He understood but I felt so awful as he had put so much work in to make my birthday special. He did cook some lovely Gammon which I thoroughly enjoyed though so not all bad.

I even tried to eat a bit of a chocolate alpen bar yesterday and had to spit it out as it was just flavourless.

So just wondered if anyone else has gone of sweet things?

Hello Lovelea,

Don't worry, you are not alone!!! I cannot stand the thought of sweet stuff either, especially chocolate.

Unfortunately that has not stopped me from putting on weight though. I have gained almost a stone in weight since I fell pregnant!!! I am eating 3/4 meals a day!!

I cant stand chocolate any more either. Sadly, I can stand cake, apple crumble and all the other hot puds in my canteen at work!! My cake bump is deinitely getting bigger!

xxxx

i am suffering really badly from morning sickness (well all day sickness lol) and honestly a choclate bar would make me feel sick for days because theres the initial eating it, then there is the memory of eating it lol lol lol although a croissant is kind of what i fancy at the moment thats more buttery than sweet isnt it hmmmmmmm

I had two croissants yesterday and really enjoyed them. At the moment I think my weight is staying the same as I'm trying to eat healthy meaty meals although I can't stay away from crisps though. Tut tut.

I seem to not be able to get enough of jelly sweets. I have completely gone off pizza though. Makes me gag everytime I think about it!!

Im exactly the same...infact i cant stand the thought of drinking my yakult drinks, any chocolate of any kind, tea, jam, tuna (the memory of it after is horrible!).

Im living on toast, cheese sandwiches and ready salted crisps. Last night i even got mcdonalds fries and i never eat mcdonalds... im craving carbohydrates so badly!

Its a shame because my pre-pregnancy cupboards are stocked full with yummy sweet things...inc digestive biscuits and i cant touch them....poor hubby is going to get very chunky at this rate lol xx

I havent had chocolate or sweets in 14 weeks.. i have the biggest sweet tooth in the world too, i would love to gorge a huge bar of dairy milk but i cant somach it! I have a bite & think "urrrrghhh".. lol

Got a new love of cheesy wotsits though :z

I used to LOVE chocolate and now even the thought of it makes me sick. I can't even drink hot chocolate or eat cakes.

When my ms was really bad all I could eat was pizza and frozen oven foods! A bit better now at 13 weeks but still a bit sicky at times and chocolate is DEFINITELY off the menu :nope:

I wonder if you go off sweet things when you're expecting a girl? Got nothing to go on by saying that except my friend loves chocolate with a passion but when she was pregnant she couldn't stand it and had a girl! I've never been sweet tooth person and i'm having a couple chocs sweeties a day and i'm convinced i'm having a boy....as i said nothing to back it up....Anyone know from experience??

Ive gone off of chocolate too, we have lots over from christmas and ive had to eat some to stop my hubby eating it all!! Im hoping going off choc wont last so I get some thats left over!

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I lived on chocolate. The freezer was stocked full of chocolate bars and I almost exclusively drank chocolate milk. I kept hershey kisses in my purse... chocolate chip cookies didn't stand a chance at my house. I clung to my chocolate like smokers cling to their cigarettes, it was bad bad bad.

This time around I hate it. Thinking about it will incite my gag reflex. We haven't told anyone yet since it's soooo early, but before we found out my MIL baked some of her famous brownies for desert after a family dinner... I had some to be polite, but I really had to work to choke them down.

Oh no, I feel for you ladies. I'm not sure if I could cope if I developed an aversion to chocolate. Hugs all around :hugs:

me too totally disgusted as im a CHOC-ALHOLIC

I have a HUGE sweet tooth normally but haven't craved it at all this pregnancy. The thought of it doesn't make me sick or anything but I definitely don't think about it like I used to. My boyfriend on the other hand has been buying sweets like crazy so I find I'm eating them just because they are there. I'm making up for lack of sweets though by eating carbs and just eating more in general. I've gained more than I should have already and I'm getting lumpy at just 7 1/2 weeks...bleh.
