Got Boxers ?

Sorry to hear about arni Lyndsey :-(

Anyone got any tips on getting rox to stop licking madden?

Not really, if you shout a Rox when he is licking he is just going to start seeing the baby as a bad thing... I'd use distraction with a toy of something squeeky to get him out of the habbit.

Thats what I've been trying but she's insistent on trying to lick him, shall ask when I take her to the lead workshop tomorrow

So life without Arni was unbearable. My eldest Cooper (20 months) stopped sleeping, screamed for Arni in the middle of the night, he became a totally different little boy and it was heartbreaking to watch. We always knew we would get another Boxer so we decided now was as good a time as any so yesterday we brought home a little brindle baby boy, Hudson. He's very cute, he instantly started following Cooper everywhere so they are already thick as thieves and last night cooper slept thru for the first time since losing Arn.

So I have a whirlwind toddler, an 11 week old son and a boxer poopie. That's definitely my lot (for now!)

awwww. sorrt to hear about arni. when I lost my eldest to cancer after 10 years it was heart wrenching. Then I decided to mate my other female and kept a puppy.. found out I was pregnant.. I have a toddler and three boxers.. thats certainly my lot too!

Boxers are so great with children tho. x

Anyone had there female spayed? my dh popped into the vets this morning to ask about the cost of getting Roxy done as shes just come into her first season and we have no plans to breed her and was quoted £250 is this a common cost for it?!

I had a quote for about £150 from my vets. I havent had it done as yet tho..
I would shop around tbh. x

O I will be shopping around! Ive had a horse castrated for less! Just wanted to check that boxers aren't always that expensive

You're in surrey so you will be looking anything from £200 to £250 depending on her weight.

Up north it's usually around £150 to £200 to spay a bitch

Such beautiful boxers. There's just nothing like a squidgy boxer face.

Hudson is one naughty little poopie!! He's well and truly come out of his shell and my goodness nothing phases him at all. My arni was a complete wuss, he wouldn't even go through a partially opened door, he'd wait til someone opened it fully. This little monkey is not going to be anything like that. He's very much keeping me on my (nibbled) toes!

Aww they are all gorgeous!

Boxers have always been in our family but never owned one myself.. until a few weeks ago! Ive got a 13 week old brindle and White dog called Alfie.. Hes adorable and soo cheeky!!

Hes nothing like my other dog, I have a Great Dane bitch (6 months old) as well and shes just so laid back, she doesnt like to do wrong and if Alfie is doing something he shouldnt be she just lies there looking at me as if to say 'I told him mum but he wouldnt listen'

Alfie on the other hand is not bothered one bit about doing something he shouldnt be and if i tell him No he just barks at me tail wagging :haha:

First picture is recent, was last week. Other two are the day I brought him home at 9 weeks. They are not allowed on the sofa normally but I felt sad for him that first day being jumped all over by Lexi  Bless him!

Oh my goodness Alfie is SOOOOOO cute!! It's amazing how big he looks compared to my 9 week old, there's going to be some serious growing going on in the next couple of weeks!!

Question for UK girls - who is your pet insurance with?

I was with direct line but just moved over to pet plan for the lifetime cover and the fact vets deal direct. DL were great and reasonable price but the vet fees are per condition rather than per year.

I probably wouldnt have bothered if i didnt have a great dane but they are so prone to things going wrong £6000 for one condition isnt enough when an operation alone can cost more than that without then adding all the on going treatment.

Pet plan are expensive (Very! lol) but they pay upto £12,000 per year so would cover on going treatment for life with that.

And thats just reminded me that its due to be paid on Monday so im going to be skint next week! lol!

Oh and yes they do grow soo quick dont they! Alfie seemed tiny when we got him and he's certainly big enough now to put Lexi in her place :haha:

We're tossing up between PetPlan and Animal Friends. Both very similar and have the per yr vet fees. A lesson learnt - we were with tesco for arni and £4k per condition is nothing. His MRI was £2k alone so not making that mistake again!

By the way, Lexi is beautiful. I love seeing two dogs together x

This is 'cora' our new rescue girl that came to us today, she's 10 yrs old bless her
