Had to share as I find this very upsetting..

ugh you western canadians are all sluts ad none of you answered my question!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

You "do" the same as you would with an uncircumcised one!

and it works properly?! there's no chafing or anything??

Lol. My ex was circ'ed. First circ'ed one I ever saw (and I seriously did used to be a slut when young, free and single lol). Took me a long time to get used to it because it is a different technique with your hands for sure. Sort of add some lube and use a looser grip was the only way I could get the hang of it.

Incidentally he had his done for medical reasons (not sure exactly what) in his late teens and was always very angry about it as he said it definitely desensitised things down there. Obviously those that get it done young do not notice any different and are sensitive down there... but they do not know differently. In this one example (the only one I have lol) the guy had already found "sexual self pleasure" when it was done and categorically noticed a vast difference.

While we're on the subject... he was also the least "clean" down there of any (alllllll of them lol) the guys I've seen intimately. He claimed that being circ'ed made him cleaner and more hygenic naturally and so he cleaned less down there himself. He was also reluctant to use condoms (he couldn't get an STI of course). I think most of that is due to a lack of proper information readily available in the UK (internet aside) more than anything though.

Not saying everyone is the same - just my experience xx

where can i get me one of him !!
lol but my husband is circ'd and he is very clean down there, so im sorry u had a bad experience lol

See this is what I am afraid of, were moving to the states at the end if the year and I'm terrified, should we have a boy, that they are going to circumsise my son without my consent. My husband who is American reasures me that they would have a really big lawsuit if they did it as they need parents written consent.

I said in the earlier part of the thread, majority of the men in the UK are not circumcised...... Yet they seem to manage just fine!! No hygiene problems. :flower:

you just have to be very pushy here. im from the UK too, so it can be hard when you do anything against the "norm" here in the states. Just put your foot down and threaten lawsuits. that generally makes people pay attention.

and as for hygiene. a clean penis is only as clean as the person who cleans it. regardless of whether it has foreskin or not!

I think California only has something like a 15% circumcision rate, so I'm not completely suprised that they are trying for something like this. Seems to be less popular out west.

My state has an 85% rate for circumcision (as is most of the east), so I definitely don't see that happening here anytime soon!

I think if it wasn't so common place, I would probably feel the same way as the UK ladies here (though I don't think I would choose the same terminology to describe it...). But it is very much the "norm" where I am from, so naturally I don't feel it's such a horrible thing.

And even though we shouldn't promote acceptance based on "looks", I would imagine that if you were an uncircumcised man surrounded by circumcised men, that you would probably be wishing your parents would have done it for you (at least thats the opinion I get from the men that I've talked to). Like it or not, right or wrong, a "want" and "need" to fit in is just human nature

If they ban it then it will end up being done by people who don't know why there doing in the uk where I live at one point there were lots of children ending up in hospital it turns out that the mosque had been doing them when there not qualified my lo was done for religious reasons and we payed about 200 pound we also had 24 he care and open access to the best hospital around! If there done right I don't belive they should be banned x

Interesting debate! While I want to make it very clear that I wouldn't have my future child circumcised, I do think that female and male 'circumcision' are very different. DH was circumcised as a teenager for medical reasons is definitely able to experience pleasure just like any other man I've ever met & he's not less sensitive (sometimes I wish!!) Female Genital Mutilation makes sex incredibly painful for girls who have been through it, it can also lead to frequent UTIs, cysts, infertility, complications during pregancy and infant deaths. I know none of you were saying FGM was a good thing but I don't think you can neccessarily compare it to male circumcision.

To the poster who said doctors push circumcision: I can only speak for Canada, really just Ontario (as it may be different in other provinces), but here you have to pay several hundred dollars to have your son circumcised unless it's for medical reasons. My brother and sil had to request it at the hospital with my nephew as it wasn't offered to them.

I think it's the same here in Alberta. My best friend had both of her sons circumcised, and both times she had to request it, and pay $300(ish).

same in bc. it's not offered. infact, no one in our city of 80,000 people does it...you have to go elsewhere to get it done (and pay). that's what we did...except the doctor told us 8 out of 10 boys weren't circ'd and if we did, our son would be 'different'. i said no at that point, and now he is 8. we have had no issues. funnily enough, my sister's son who is cir'd (9 years old now) has suffered a couple uti's. i am glad my son has his winter touque.:flower:

same here. they infact tried to take him away to do it and i nearly screamed the room down at the nurse. i had already had it written into his notes that he wasnt to be circ'd and they STILL kept asking and then tried to take him away to do it. i was furious!
they apologised a bunch and said that it was so uncommon for someone to say no that they normally asked and then ok them because the mums always say yes. it further annoyed me because then asked if they information on circ's and why they arent medically necessary anymore so that people can make an informed decision if they are going to constantly ask if the parents are going ot have it done. they said no they dont provide information about it. and then the nurse tried to tell me it prevents AIDS. :dohh:

Noooooo they would definitely not circumsise without your consent! Don't worry, hun. You will be asked when you are admitted into the hospital about all sorts of things, and one of the questions is are you having him circumsized or not. There will be a form or forms you have to fill out and sign before they would ever even think about it. Don't worry :hugs:.

Mine was born in BC (Langley) and no offer here either! The thought never even came up.

ok. There is NO WAY 80% of men in the U.S are circumsised?! I have never saw a circumcised one in my life

Also not sure how I feel about the AIDs spreading in gay men comment, that seems a bit stereotypical to me... anyone could get HIV.

Anyways, I've not read all the replies but..
What would happen when people needed circumcision for medical purposes?

I can't say this law seems fair. If people didn't do it for religious reasons, then I'd say sure, go ahead. But it seems a bit discriminatory is muslims and jews IMO.

I highly doubt it will pass.

i had a "friend" ;) once whose willy looked like it had an inch-long straw sticking out the end! his foreskin was waaaaaay too tight, it actually couldn't retract over the head at all. he chose to be circ'd.

i don't agree with it in any way shape or form, and do not agree with anyone who does, but I'd never tell anyone they were wrong in a disrespectful manner. im extremely atheist so the whole thing seems ludicrous to me. but there are people who feel very very strongly about it so they can fill their boots, just dont come near any son of mine with a knife unless u want it lodged in your eyeball.

OHs friend's son just had to be circ'd, he's 3. He claims its because his mom wasnt pulling back his foreskin during bath time and it got infected. what I personally think happened, is his mother & father are seperated. His father has him every second weekend. I think his father pulled the foreskin back before it needed to be, and then his mother didn't know .. and then it got infected. Just my theory though..

ur not supposed to pull the foreskin back at that age :S so i agree with u and its to do with the dad pulling it back before it was ready

It's definitely not the norm here, I've never seen a circd willy!!!

My OHs best friend had it done last year as he had an accident and tore the skin or something. It was incredibly painful for him afterwards and he has since said he has lost some sensation down there. Yes, it still feels good but not "as good".

Of course, those who had it done as infant won't have anything to compare to so they won't know any difference.

It's still permanently altering a part of our childrens body, it's wrong and it should not be our decision. Men should make the decision when they are older.

I would absolutely not ever let anyone cut away part of my labia so why on earth would I let anyone cut away skin from my child's penis (I don't have a boy but theoretically) unless there was a proper medical reason.

Thanks hun! :flower: I'm not even pregnant yet and I worry about these things lol :dohh:

exactly. but I think once it is pulled back, you must continue. So I really think dad pulled it back when he shouldn't have, mom & dad don't communicate, so mom didn't pull it back .. hence, infection (actually think he got several infections before being circ'd) so could have gone on for a while ..

Not to sound like a ho bag, but I've seen plenty of both and they are all pretty much the same in functionality

Okay I admit I was a bit of a ho bag before I found my OH
